23.01.2022 In the midst of the chaos and beauty that is motherhood, I’m so grateful to not only have been able to fill my cup by upskilling in last week’s virtual training with @australianstyleinstitute but so honoured to have been able to share a bit of my story alongside a couple of other amazing ASI stylists. I stepped into ASI for my stylist training 4 years ago and I love that I am still constantly learning more and being challenged every single day. I love that I was able to complete my training back then while working FT and still be able to upskill now while juggling a newborn. If any of you have ever contemplated a career in styling or even just expanding your knowledge and skills in your passion, ASI are having their Virtual Open Day on Aug 26th at 6.30pm. 19.01.2022 Oh hello there knitwear! During summer, I packed up all my winter wear into boxes and put them away so that my wardrobe only had pieces suitable for the season. There is always so much frustration and overwhelm when the wardrobe is filled with items which don’t fulfil our current needs i.e winter clothing during peak summer. I’ve taken out all my knitwear out of boxes today to swap it back into my wardrobe. I felt like I just went shopping and got a whole heap of new p...ieces Who else does this? If you don’t, try out this little exercise of having season appropriate clothing hanging in your wardrobe. There will be more clarity and sense when dressing for these chilly days. #sweaterweather #winterwardrobe #wardrobeorganisation #stylisttips #wardrobetips #melbournestylist #asistylist #melbournepersonalstylist #personalstylist #melbournewomen #melbournemums #melbournefashion #melbournestyle #functionalwardrobe #melbournewomeninbusiness #womeninbusiness #beyondstylingbyjustina See more

16.01.2022 And don't we need this now more than ever? With nowhere to go and no visitors allowed, it almost makes us think - why even have a wardrobe? But it's these times that we want to take out that outfit that makes us feel good, makes us feel like us, makes us feel ALIVE and put on that armour to face the day ahead of us (at home ). I'm taking out all my nicer knits to wear at home because.. why not?! What is your armour for today?

13.01.2022 The first baby I had to name was my biz baby - one I thought long and hard about because as we all know, there is always a meaning and significance to something we put a name to. I recently sat down and revisited the meaning behind it, something I have not done for awhile and was very refreshing to do. I thought I'd share the story with you and take you on Beyond Styling's journey of conception. So WHY Beyond Styling?... After completing my stylist training with @australianstyleinstitute, I realised what captivated me to styling was more than the fashion and clothing (as much as I do love this too!). I was drawn so much towards the humanity and heart behind the work. I loved that fashion and clothing had such an integral part to play in helping someone feel confident, discover themselves, express their identity and start owning their life again. Our clothing is a visual representation of who we are in its entirety. Yet on its own, it has no meaning. This led to the birth of Beyond Styling.. because beyond just the styling aspect (of fashion and clothing), lies the identity of an individual. As much as styling is the work I am doing, the heart of it all is beyond styling. I wanted to be able to empower, educate and help the people I get to work with. I wanted to use my passion for clothing and fashion to translate into something more for my clients - more joy, more freedom, more confidence, more fun! I used to be ashamed of this name .. thinking I did not have the 'best' name I could give my business. After revisiting my why, I couldn't think of a better name for my (biz) baby. See more

12.01.2022 Have you found cover? While waiting on my properly made reusable masks, I needed a quick fix to be able to duck out and walk my little one for some fresh air. I managed to find a pretty little hack online on how to DIY a face covering using a square neck/head scarf. Most importantly, it involves NO SEWING.... If you’re like me, and can’t sew to save your life.. and in need of a little cover, I’ve done a quick video to show you how it’s done. Have fun and stay safe! X See more

11.01.2022 Keeping our eyes on the prize .. staying safe indoors so that hopefully one day soon, we will have the freedom again to see our loved ones and enjoy our beautiful city. In the mean time, apart from spending this time with my precious family, I am looking forward to get back to some styling fun (at home , of course!). Hope to see you more on the gram!

10.01.2022 When I started my first job after graduating, I completed a personality test during the induction. The results of the test showed how much of a creative I was, a polar opposite to the accounting role I was in. I remember vividly, the HR officer jokingly saying, "Are you sure you are an accountant?!". . Deep down, I knew I wasn't. It took me 8 years in the industry before I decided to do something about it .. and 10 years before I finally had the courage to t...ake the leap. . I have always been a lover of fashion and beautiful clothing, but @australianstyleinstitute opened up my eyes to so much more of what a stylist was. It truly cemented my WHY and where I needed to be. I am so grateful to have discovered ASI in my journey and am very honoured to be able to share my story in their virtual open campus event this evening. . If you have always been curious about becoming a stylist, or you're just 'waiting for a sign', this is it! Register via the link in their bio. AUG 26 (today) // 6.30pm See more

04.01.2022 A day late but still as important as ever. I hope you take time to initiate a conversation with the people around you, but not only that, to initiate a conversation with yourself. Are you really OK? . I never thought to really answer that question for myself, always thinking "of course I'm OK". Since going into lockdown, many loved ones have reached out to ask if I was OK. My answer would always be a simple "I'm OK" .. because in my mind, I never thought th...at I would be NOT OK. . First, baby blues caught me a little off guard and found me breaking down in tears out of nowhere and in all honesty, I felt empty and lost. Of course, this was my hormones raging after giving birth but it was something I have never experienced before. Thankfully, my hubby kept checking in on me and was switched on enough to notice when I was not myself. . Then of course, the gravity of lockdown really sunk in recently with our harshest restrictions. Already, we were finding it so hard with family not being able to visit us at such an important (and stressful!) time in our lives, but then to go on and on without social contact for such a long time, to the point where we now only live in the bubble that is hubby, baby and I .. it's TOUGH. . When a good friend checked in with me recently, I finally shared my true feelings which even surprised myself. I was not ok. As much as I am grateful for many things, there are also so many things that have been so difficult. The isolation is real and it was all getting a bit too much. . It really helped to have someone outside my bubble listen and share their similar experience too. I don't know what I'd be feeling if I did not admit that truth to myself and speak to someone about it. I am also thankful someone initiated that conversation with me. . *CONTINUED IN COMMENTS See more

01.01.2022 Different clothing can evoke different emotions. This is due to various reasons - the associated meaning of the piece, the colour, the cut, fashion rules we hold etc. Instead of sitting back and letting our outfits determine how we feel, why not take an active role in setting the tone for your day? Ask yourself ... How do you want to feel today? Does this outfit make you feel that way? If yes - YAY! go slay, girl. If no, let’s change it up! It's also important to ask: What about my outfit made me feel ___? A big part of discovering our style is the process of discovering our own self. Ask yourself these questions, give yourself the time to answer (if they don’t immediately come to you) and with that, you will find that bit more clarity the next time you: - choose an outfit for the day - determine whether to purchase that item/keep that online shopping purchase - determine whether to get rid of that piece from your wardrobe Who’s up to setting up how they feel for the day?
