11.01.2022 Stand by for an important message about this years cycle ride

08.01.2022 Farewell John and Lorraine It is with a great deal of sadness that the Foundation recently accepted the retirements of long-time Board members John Ballinger and Lorraine Murch Both John and Lorraine have held the positions of Secretary on the Board and have been instrumental in most of the Board's activities to date.... Their contributions to the Board's major fundraiser, the Murray to Moyne cycle relay, have encompassed both riding in the relay (John) and handling donations and sponsorship (Lorraine). Board Chair Des Murray paid tribute to the two stalwarts, praising their commitment to the Foundation since it was founded in 2009. "The Board has greatly benefited from the huge amount of energy and enthusiasm these two have given to the Foundation," Mr Murray said. "They have never shied away from assisting the Board at every level, and leave with our thanks and congratulations for the contributions they have made." While expressing a desire to continue some form of involvement with the Foundation's activities, Lorraine says its time for her to step back from a Board positio "I've been with the Foundation from the very beginning," she said, "and now its time for me to let someone younger step up to the challenge." The Ballinger name on the Foundation Board will continue even with John's retirement as he has recruited his son, Simon, to take his place.

07.01.2022 It is with regret that we advise that Des will no longer be able to make his solo cycle journey from Mildura to Port Fairy as planned. The Foundation has been advised that after 26 years of participation in the event, the 2020 Murray to Moyne event has been cancelled. However, in 2021 The Foundation will stage a new cycle event, with a much stronger local flavour. Our plan is a ride from Renmark to Port MacDonnell, via Bordertown and Kingston, a distance of some 600 kms. Th...e previous event has taken place in Victoria but this new ride will run through South Australia with Bordertown playing a significant role. We look forward to sharing more details with you as they come to hand - watch this space! For those who have already made donations for this years ride, thank you for your support. Please contact Dale Beck at [email protected] to advise whether you would like to have your sponsorship refunded or carried forward for next years ride. The BHC Foundation remains committed to supporting our local hospital service through raising funds for much needed medical equipment. More detail on the Foundations work can be found at bchfoundation.com.au

06.01.2022 Thanks to the riders and walkers who came along to give Des some encouragement to keep training for his epic solo cycle ride. This amazing effort is all about raising funds for our hospital through the Foundation. Well done everyone (and thanks Mundulla Store for the coffees)

03.01.2022 The Chairman and Board of the Bordertown Health and Community Foundation would like to wish everyone a Happy, Safe and Prosperous New Year. Lets hope 2021 is kinder to us all, in the Tatiara and beyond.
