24.01.2022 Healthy gum for a healthy heart There is scientific evidence of associations between gum disease (periodontitis) and heart disease, including increased risk of acute myocardial infarction, heart failure, and stroke. In people with heart disease, gum treatment and good oral-hygiene habits may reduce the incidence of acute heart disease events. People with heart disease should receive a thorough oral-health examination. The early diagnosis, prevention, and co-management (by dentists and physicians) of both heart disease and gum diseases is of the utmost importance. Please receive regular dental check-ups as part of managing your heart disease.

20.01.2022 CDC recommends that people wear cloth face coverings in public settings and when around people who don’t live in your household, especially when other social distancing measures are difficult to maintain. Cloth face coverings may help prevent people who have COVID-19 from spreading the virus to others. Cloth face coverings are most likely to reduce the spread of COVID-19 when they are widely used by people in public settings. Cloth face coverings should NOT be worn by children under the age of 2 or anyone who has trouble breathing, is unconscious, incapacitated, or otherwise unable to remove the mask without assistance. Therefore, we also encourage any visitors to wear face coverings when they are inside our clinic.

12.01.2022 The Australian Health Protection Principal Committee (AHPPC) has now approved the move from Level 2 to Level 1 dental service restrictions, from 8 May 2020, as outlined in the Australian Dental Association’s Managing COVID-19 Guidelines. Level 1 restrictions permit ALL dental treatments for people who do not meet epidemiological or clinical risk factors for COVID-19 infection transmission. We will continue to implement the standard and additional measures to prevent COVID-19.

11.01.2022 We are now at Level 3 of Government mandated operating procedures. It is very restrictive. Only emergency treatment is allowed but feel free to contact us if you need some advice on any urgent matters which will be assessed on case by case basis.

11.01.2022 Due to the outbreak of coronavirus illnesses in Australia, the following preventive measures are performed in our clinic to help prevent transmission of the disease in our clinic, in addition to standard precautions. 1. Screening of patients in form of questionnaire to identify suspected cases. 2. Body temperature is measured 3. Pre-treatment mouthrinse with hydrogen peroxide mouthwash is provided. It shows virucidal effect on SARS-CoV-2 virus.... 4. Continue the use of full protective equipment as usual 5. All visitors to the clinic are encouraged to perform hand hygiene frequently, especially after touching their mouth or face. 6. Public areas frequently touched, including door handles, chairs and washroom are disinfected twice daily or when it is becomes visibly soiled. Also, Australian Dental Association recommended the delay of any non-urgent dental appointments for the following people: 1. Fever or history of fever AND acute respiratory infection (shortness of breath or cough or sore throat) or severe acute respiratory infection without fever requiring hospitalisation and 2. Travel to (including transit through) affected areas in the 14 days before onset of illness OR Close contact* in 14 days before illness onset with a confirmed or suspected case of 2019-nCoV. 3. Close contact within 14 days of symptom onset with any of the following: a confirmed or suspected case of 2019-nCoV; a healthcare facility in affected area.

06.01.2022 Is it safe to visit the dentist? What if I'm halfway through my treatment? What if I have a dental emergency? You may have a lot of questions at the moment. We've tried to answer them here.

02.01.2022 Australian Dental Association raised concerns around the lack of informed consent and improper use of the Child Dental Benefit Schedule by mobile dental providers. ADA strongly advised parents to choose a local dentist who is accessible for future appointments, to attend visits, to make sure X-rays aren't taken unless necessary.
