Research has shown that women make more short trips within their local area than men, but only half as many women ride a bike. Spoke Up! is an annual event as part of National Women’s Health Week, with a program of events including discussions, rides and demonstrations from 5 to 11 September. 18.01.2022 If you have always wanted to swap your car trips for bike trips, but didn't know what sort of e-bike to buy, this bike library will be perfect for you. The library will allow you to trial different e-bikes over a two week period to see how they can improve your daily lifestyle. Thanks to ACT Government and See-Change for making this possible. We are sure many more people will be converted to e-bikes as a result of this initiative.
15.01.2022 Would you like to be able to do maintenance on your own bike? The Recyclery has set up a welcoming space for women to drop in and learn bike repair skills. It will be especially good for people who may feel less comfortable in the male-dominated realms of cycling and mechanics.

11.01.2022 Our shared paths are getting busier here are some helpful hints to reduce your chance of an incident. IF YOU ARE WALKING + walk on the left of the path + give riders a thumbs up to show them you are aware they are about to pass... IF YOU ARE RIDING + signal you are approaching pedestrians from behind by ringing your bell + ring your bell regularly on a busy path. It’s important to leave enough time for the people in front to react and make space for you to pass. + keep left unless overtaking Showing consideration to all path users is the key

07.01.2022 Cycling is good for the health and well-being of individuals, the community, and the environment. Recreational cycling has flourished in Canberra in 2020. More Canberrans than ever before are riding bikes around our lakes and on our mountain paths for exercise and recreation. Now is the perfect time to encourage and support people to also use their bike for transport.
