25.01.2022 Running a small business is tough. We put our hearts and our souls into what we do. Sometimes it works. Sometimes it doesn’t. At times, we feel like giving up. But, it’s at these times that we need to push through and remember that there is no growth without resistance. No success without overcoming challenges. We when realise that the obstacle to success is the path to success, we get closer to achieving our goals. The airplane after all, takes off into the wind, not with the wind. #townsville #townsvillesmallbusiness #smallbusinesstownsville #supportlocaltownsville

24.01.2022 10 Exercises to Build Your Creative Confidence #townsvillesmallbusiness #townsville #creativity

22.01.2022 It was a privilege to work with Peter and the crew at Braid & Co Distribution. Super grateful and so glad they’re happy with their new website. Thanks!!!

20.01.2022 The importance of good design can’t be overstated. People prefer easy. Reduce friction for your customers. Make it easy for them to do business with you. Easy to buy from you. It took me a few moments to figure out what to do with this buzzer. And if your website or direct email marketing or any part of the process your customers go through to do business with you is anything like what you see in this picture (unnecessarily complex, confusing and time consuming), you’re miss...ing out on opportunities to build a connection with customers who decide you’re just too hard to do business with. Where could you make improvements or reduce friction for your customers? Maybe it’s the phone tree they have to go through before talking to an actual human; maybe your paper based, manual ordering system could be replaced with an online store; maybe your returns policy needs to be reviewed; maybe your website has too much information on it... Whatever it is, a few small changes can make a huge difference for your business. #townsville #townsvillebusiness #townsvillesmallbusiness #business #smallbusiness #design #webdesign #marketingdigital

20.01.2022 One prerequisite for achieving creative confidence is the belief that your innovation skills and capabilities are not set in stone...in other words, you need to start with a growth mindset. Being a manager or running a business is a constant battle between feeling like you’re in over your head and felling confident you have the ability to make things happen. It also requires a heap of creativity, whether you realise it or not. This book, Creative Confidence is a great re...ad and may help you to realise your own creative confidence. #goodreads #townsville #townsvillesmallbusiness #townsvillebusiness #townsvillelocal #townsvillemarketing #marketing #digitalmarketing

19.01.2022 What if there was a way to market your business, your products or your services for free? Sounds fanciful, I know, but there is a way, and although it can be challenging and requires patience and even some trial and error, it is proven to be really, really effective. Content marketing is the art of creating content in written, audio, image or video form that helps to solve a problem for your target audience. If you create this kind of content on a regular basis, share it gene...rously and if it resonates with the people you intend to serve, you'll start to build a community of people around your brand that will want to support you and buy from you. It's not easy, but it is effective and is a great way for businesses to engage and grow a customer base on a budget. 17.01.2022 When it comes your website, simplicity is so important. You want to make it easy for your customers or community to connect with you, and the more complex your site, the harder it is for them to do that. Here's a little article from the Big Eyed Fish blog about just this topic. https://bigeyedfish.com.au//keep-your-small-business-webs/

07.01.2022 Thinking about a new website but have questions? Maybe there's a post on our blog that can help.

07.01.2022 Don’t do social media just for the likes and comments. Yes, they’re important to a point - they create awareness - but one of the primary goals for the connection you’re building with your audience through social media really needs to be about converting them into customers. Don’t do social media just to do social media. Do it for a business outcome. #townsville #townsvilleshines #townsvillelocal #townsvillebusiness #townsvillesmallbusiness #townsvillefood #townsvillefitness #townsvillephotographer #townsvillehairdresser #townsvillecoffee #townsvillecafe #smallbusiness #business #marketing #digitalmarketing #socialmediamarketing

07.01.2022 People are spending an enormous, and growing, amount of time on the internet every day looking for the things they need. The tourist that visits town and needs a cafe for some coffee and wi-if hits google. A mum of 3 who needs a good hair dresser types the web address of a salon her good friend recommended straight into her browser to make a booking online. ... A P-plater searches online to find someone to conduct a roadworthy on his first car. A public servant who needs a plumber to install a new vanity in her newly renovated bathroom opens up her browser and types ‘Townsville plumber’ to get quotes. And so on. This kind of consumer behaviour, which was once just for a few of us, is now the norm. And there will soon come a time when, if you’re not online, if you don’t have a website where people can learn about you and your business, you will not be found. A good website is not an expense. It’s an investment in the future of your business. A website is not the extra, ‘nice to have’ thing. It’s necessary for doing business. #townsville #townsvillelocal #townsvillebusiness #townsvillesmallbusiness #smallbusinesstownsville #townsville #townsvilleshines #townsvillebusiness #townsvillesmallbusiness #smallbusinesstownsville #townsvillefitness #townsvillemarkets #townsvillephotographer #townsvillehair #townsvillenorthqueensland #townsvillelovesyourbusiness #supportlocaltownsville #digitalmarketing

06.01.2022 All businesses need a website. The trick is figuring out exactly what kind of site you need. Here's some help. #townsville #townsvillewebdesign #townsvillesmallbusiness

05.01.2022 This morning I met with a couple young, newly minted business owners to talk about updating their website. Besides talking about the vision they had for their presence online, we also had a small chat about some of the work they’d been doing behind the scenes so they could relaunch a business they’d just taken over and make it their own. I was really impressed with their focus and the grind they’ve been on to make things happen. It occurred to me that for small business owners, it’s the work we do when no one is watching that leads to success. And there’s plenty of it. So here’s to you small business owners, grinding away to put a smile on the faces of your customers and bring value to your community. Keep on grinding! #townsville #townsvillesmallbusiness #townsvillelocal #townsvillebusiness #townsvillecafe
