10.01.2022 Okay so we take back our last post's message... Due to Melbourne lockdown we won't be serving at @montsalvatartscentre for at least the next 6 weeks. BUT we are working behind the scenes to update our beverage packages for events! 08.01.2022 Out with the old and in with the new! Whilst we've been unable to operate these past few months due to the ongoing restrictions on gatherings in Victoria, we've taken this opportunity to give Bernie a LONG overdue engine transplant. The original 1969 Citroen 4 cylinder 1.9L 3 speed engine really was a slug. Revving extremely high at its max speed of 70km/h on the freeway and struggling up hills, it certainly wasn't a comfortable van to drive out to those country weddings.... Luckily for us, Chris' father Micky is a mechanic and classic car enthusiast. He's sourced a suitable donor van from the car yard and began working away on the transplant. We're putting in a far more modern 2001 Mercedes MB100D 2.3L Diesel 5 Speed Engine. These Mercedes vans are commercial utility vehicles, so the engine will comfortably pull those big loads Bernie is famous for. Here's some progress shots of the work done to date, and some action shots of Matt welding up new engine mounts. Jokes aside, if you are going for a BYO option for your event, you are probably wondering how much beer, wine, spirits, mixers (and everything else needed for a bar service) you should buy. Unfortunately we can't give you the answer right here and now because there are many variables! ... However, we have created our own booze calculator that takes all of the variables into consideration.
