25.01.2022 The Scenic Rim rave continues... Here's a sunset from a multi-day hike with a mate across Barney, Ernest and Lindesay. The nights were cold, but the sky was ! This was shot from the base of the Northern cliffs on Mt Lindesay looking west across to Barney - was well worth every ragged, tired step up. Might be time to Visit Scenic Rim and capture a little of #mtbarney on a #hikingadventure for yourself

24.01.2022 What is it about mountains that make them so stunning? In one sense they are simply large piles of rock, soil and vegetation that happen to be higher than the surrounding area. But in another, they are grand adventures, challenges to be conquered and new heights to be summited. Someone, please explain? ... Ol mate Barney looking finnnnnne. another #hikingadventure shot on #sonyalpha while in the #visitscenicrim Oh and by the way, #themountainsarecalling

22.01.2022 It's a bit of a Wild Country out there... Loving getting out right now! . .... . . . #rockclimbing #climbon #sonyalpha #sonyaustralia #themountainsarecalling #adventurephotography #getoutdoors #livetheadventure #wildcountry See more

21.01.2022 Balance! Everything in moderation was the saying...and they were right! It keeps training fresh and the body balanced and conditioned in a variety of situations. Working on grip strength and balance this week. should be set for Slab climbing then eh!

21.01.2022 You have to start somewhere... Last week I had a moment where I realised that there have been a handful of things that I’ve talked about recently - things I wanted to achieve and wanted to change - that I had done very little about. > I want to push myself creatively... > I want to capture more sunrises > I want to produce an adventure doco again this year > I want to see climbing develop in my region. At some point, you have to take decisive action. As little or insignificant as it might seem, it’s a catalyst. So here it is: this is a snap of the Northern section of Main Range NP - one of the gems from an early morning adventure last week. Let me know if you decide you want to wrap a whole wall in your house with it. Forget the prints, let’s go wallpaper @ Main Range National Park Goomburra Section

20.01.2022 *Singing: "Take me back to the sweet times, The hot nights, Everything is gonna be alright, In the summertime" It's been soooo cold lately I'm all for grippy rock and zero sweat but "Feels like 1 degree" at 3pm and I can't feel my legs just isn't nice. Safe to say I'm frothing for spring! 18.01.2022 I feel like I’m forever looking forward. Always thinking and planning what’s next. Always looking to a new challenge. Always learning about ways to better myself and improve.... While it often feels exciting and appears to be fruitful, it’s a pretty restless way to live. A recent injury (minor) and a couple day’s away with the family at the beach have been helpfully disorienting! What am I to do with all these things I long to accomplish? Oh well. They’ll wait another day. This photo is one from the archives on a client shoot up Mount Maroon in the Scenic Rim . . . . . . #sonyalpha #landscapephotography #themountainsarecalling #mountains #hikingadventures #getoutdoors #livetheadventure #scenicrim #visitqld

18.01.2022 A trip earlier in the year to the southern downs region after decent rain. Look at this beauty! Green and lush - Queen Mary Falls. If this doesn’t get you stoked to get outdoors and exploring again, we can’t do much else for you on this beautiful Monday.

18.01.2022 It has been a busy month of May, so you can only imagine how much we are frothin to get our hands on some gorgeous sandstone! Better set that early alarm for 4am!

16.01.2022 A fill-the-blanks story... I (insert your name here) like to take on new challenges quickly and expect that things (my body, other people, my general state of mind) will just keep up with all the changes (using muscles that aren't familiar with the new challenge, the disorientation of taking things in a new direction, the challenge of learning, the adjustment period). Instead, I'll try to pace myself and allow myself and others the grace to grow slowly.... *one of my knees is cranky from too much slacklining over the last month of pushing to do moves like in this photo which require a good deal of strength and flexibility. Learn from me, take it steady. 16.01.2022 Dreaming happens when you’re REALLY awake. Goff I love this. The wild, challenging, fulfilling, worthy ideas don’t happen in moments of absurdity but rather when you’re fully engaged and alive. What are you dreaming about achieving next?... 14.01.2022 Ahh the scenic rim. Quite the scene isn’t it?

14.01.2022 I think my son is on to something.. Watching him hike (read: waddle, get distracted and trip) over the weekend was such a joyful experience. He spent the time eagerly exploring and learning about his environment. Pretend as you might to convince people otherwise, but life really is largely a curious adventure where we mostly bumble our way along, without really knowing exactly what will happen next, or how we’ll respond.... Don’t let people fool you otherwise - There aren’t really any experts who have it all figured out. Just those perhaps a little more experienced, who have made more mistakes, or have walked the path enough times to see more clearly. The experts you can respect are the ones who don’t really have the full picture and are continuing to learn with a bold humility. Here’s to seeing the world with the eyes of a child. Curious, unassuming and eager.

13.01.2022 Scattering, you've got quite the taste old chap! We live in a beautiful world. (insert coldplay song here) This sunrise was shot on a winters morning last year at the start of a day exploring Frogs Buttress with a few new friends!... A little #landscapephotography shot on #sonyalpha in the Visit Scenic Rim

13.01.2022 Incredible the way that nature recovers. It’s fascinating seeing leaves grow in such an usual way. Bushfires swept through here 6 months ago, but the bush has been busy regrowing. Thick underbrush and bizarre trees galore! We’re a little like that though, in the way that we grow and adapt quite quickly and only begin to realise when we walk down a familiar track and notice our response and thoughts are a little different.... #adventurehike #hikingadventures #exploreqld #bushfiresaustralia #scenicrim @ Main Range National Park Goomburra Section

13.01.2022 Pressure brings focus. It’s been a noisy week in my head so it was to get outside. There’s something precious about the freedom and focus of climbing (and adventuring outdoors) that helps clear the head and reset your perspective a little. A healthy deal of pressure seems to bring a helpful sense of focus: It distills priorities and preferences...One for the campfire. So I was keen for a little pressure and took on a new challenge and linked up a couple climbs today to cre...ate a mini-epic at our local crag. Time to tackle new projects This is my mate Henri out on the nose of the climb - she’s got spirit.

13.01.2022 Have you had a chance to listen to our latest episode of Yaks Gone Wild yet?? Our special guest, Pete, gave us an insight to why he thinks taking risk is incredibly important for us! Check it on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or on our website!

10.01.2022 Getting amongst it! Got a bit inspired on a handful of stunning stacks today. Also got absolutely blasted. Nothing clears the mind quite like the mental overload of learning crack climbing ... The window for is closing @ Mt French National Park

08.01.2022 It’s all about committing. I’ve noticed repeatedly when I get stuck trying something - a hard section on a climb or a new move on the slack line - most often the obstacle isn’t actually my physical inability to do it, but rather my mental commitment to the consequences of the action. I have to be willing to say YES rather than NO. So much of the struggle happens when I’m trying to push through but my head is saying no the whole time. ... So I’m learning to say YES. Yes, I might fall a bit further than I like. Yes, I might land poorly and prang the ankle. Yes, I might miss it a dozen times. Yes, it does look terrifying but I’m better than that. But most importantly, Yes, I’m going to back myself, do the bold thing and laugh in the face of my own non-committing doubts. Picked up the first part of the butt bounce on the 25m line yesterday with a mate. It was almost entirely a head-game.

08.01.2022 One more for the pool room. Hope you’re planning to get outdoors in some shape or form this weekend! Choose the brave option, soak up the sun, enjoy good company and eat nothing but cranberry trio nut mix.... For the camera buffs, this is from a 9 shot pano to give a high-res outcome. @ Main Range National Park Goomburra Section

04.01.2022 It's all about the head game - in this episode we explore how our mind responds to fear. listen to this one before your next multi-pitch trad climb, or difficult conversation with a close friend. 02.01.2022 Mileage makes the (wo)man. Learn it, then do it again, then again, then again. Then take a break, then again and again. Oh and enjoy the process This legend working on the drop knee on a gorgeous Sunday afternoon!... #slackline #slacklife #livetheadventure #gibbonslacklines #toowoombaregion #getoutdoors

02.01.2022 Glad to be up with the sun this morning! Cracker of a day here in Toowoomba. Took an extra halfer to get out to the mountains cause we were taking in the views. Love when winter brings her mist into the valley.

01.01.2022 Seeing life from another perspective. The most recent adventure was a hike on the northern edge (literally ) of the scenic rim in QLD. Throughout the hike you looked south over some of the mountains. I was reminded of this experience from last year on the opposite side of the scenic rim. Both times Mount Barney was in view, but from opposite sides. In this photo, we’re looking north-west towards it.... It reminded me of the incredible value of seeing things from another perspective. It could be listening to people’s stories and experiences, asking for advice or trying to tackle a problem in a new or unorthodox way. It’s these things that challenge and shape our perspective and the way we view the world. So often the problems we carry with us can be the result of our short-sighted perspective: All I can see is what’s right in front of me and it looks menacing and there’s no way I could possibly overcome this. It’s in that space that stopping, listening, looking, adjusting - the humble responses of a learner - are incredibly valuable. Thanks for the lessons Mount Barney. . . . . #mtbarney #visitscenicrim #scenicrim #exploreqld #adventuretime #hikingadventures @ Mount Lindesay
