22.01.2022 Very happy to announce the confirmed pregnancy of Billabong Rhea to Ataraxia Guzman. Both parents are very athletic and driven. Rhea is a daughter of Ataraxia Hesh x Evolution Pippa. Hesh is a Napoleon x Phantom son and Pippa is Bronson x Poppy daughter. Im expecting very strong and athletic pups as all the parents and grandparents are on the whole very forward, strong and athletic. Napoleon, Phantom and Hesh have good temperaments and almost flawless construction.... Pippa and Bronson both have good construction and correct Boerboel temperaments. These pups will have a lot to offer in furthering the breed. See more

21.01.2022 So this little guy is two weeks old today. Mum had a bit of a traumatic delivery and we lost three other pups, so hes a singleton now. Very fat with no competition for the milk always milk drunk .

Description of a Boerboel BOERBOEL The Boerboel is WHATEVER IT WANTS YOU TO THINK IT IS because the phrase "African farm muscle car dog" doesnt even really come close to describing it. It guarded the mines against diamond thieves in South Africa so Im pretty sure its preferred food is "terrified diamond thieves." This one wants to be thought of as a unicorn, and its a unicorn. It is. Just say it, and back away slowly without making eye contact. JUST SAY IT BEFORE IT NOTICES YOURE HESITATING.

13.01.2022 Our latest litter has ZuZu. She is (hopefully) going to be an Instructor Dog at Naughty Dog School when she grows up. But for now, shes doing her normal puppy school training, with lots and lots of puppy school before her final vaccinations kick in. Then she will be able to go out into the wide world to expand her knowledge base.

09.01.2022 BABS "Learning about Boerboels" Educational Webinar Series Boerboel Africa Breed Society is excited to announce that we will be hosting a series of educational ...webinars on the Boerboel. Initially, we are planning 10 webinar events. Each event will feature 2 breed experts as our guest speakers and topics will include various aspects of the Boerboel structure, its history, iconic and influential dogs, breeding better Boerboels and old-time breeders talking about their breeding experiences. Our first chapter will cover the following topics: Talk 1: "An introduction to the Boerboel" by Kobus Rust Kobus will give a brief insight into the Boerboel and what makes it distinct as a pure-breed dog. Talk 2: "The Boerboel Head" by Craig Bloom & Kobus Rust Craig & Kobus will discuss the breed types that have contributed to the Boerboel head as well as what a correct Boerboel head should be according to the breed standard. We have 2 sessions to cover different timezones. Each session includes both talks. 08.01.2022 Its been quite a busy week getting everything and everyone ready for the BAI appraisals and National Show. Then at lunch time today Tinkerbell went into labour. She just finished whelping nine pups (two males deceased) at ten oclock tonight. The last pup born was a male at 800grs, shes a great mum and all the pups are feeding. Photos will follow

07.01.2022 ZuZu on table asleep, 5 siblings crashed out all over the surgery. Vaccinations are exhausting apparently! Well- perhaps the play session amongst it all was the exhausting part.

07.01.2022 Socialise, socialise, socialise. ZuZu is getting massive love vibes from all who meet her. Besides the humans getting a beautiful baby puppy to cuddle ZuZu gets a benefit too! There are a couple of her siblings available to selected homes.

01.01.2022 Craig Bloom (of Ataraxia Kennels) spent many years travelling the world to find the right Boerboels to establish the breed in Australia. Those dogs formed the foundation from which have come the dogs we know and love. They also are also the bedrock for the reputation of the Australian Boerboel. In recent years the majority of dogs bred in Australia have fallen far from these iconic dogs, with many of the new breeders ignoring the experienced breeders to do their own thing.... With this in mind Billabong Boerboels (with a few other breeders, working collaboratively) has begun to revisit these foundation dogs, with the intent of restoring that Australian reputation that Craig has worked so hard to build. My latest breeding is the first step in that direction, with hopefully many more to follow. Sire: Ataraxia Hesh (Maestro Napolean x Mojo Phantom) Dam: Ataraxia Tinka (Dandaloo Mack x Mouzer Ysterberg Tinkerbelle) Hesh was one of Kobus Rusts favourite dogs when he visited Australia 2 years ago. He felt that Hesh exhibited a good example of the boerboel temperament and the male boerboel form. Tinka has produced outstanding bitches with the likes of Ataraxia Plain Jane (the highest scoring female in 2018) and Ataraxia Starr, with excellent mothering skills coming down the line from Mouzer Ysterberg Tinkerbelle (and passing that on to her daughters). The litter has an even consistency throughout. Very little variation in colour, all have straight fronts, great angulation, straight top lines. They have strong and correct head shape, good depth of skull and muzzle length. Not to mention an oustanding pedigree, with iconic dogs littered throughout. Grandparents: Maestro Napolean, Dandaloo Mack Great-grandparents: Ysterberg Sokket, Mojo Voodoo, Piona Lugar Dandaloo Mack is a son of Ysterberg Sokket and a grandson of Maestro Napolean!
