25.01.2022 UPDATE due to the recent lockdown: BILLICH: BEYOND THE CANVAS Official Australian red carpet PREMIERE! Saturday March 31, 2021 at The Astor Theatre in Melbourne.... The positive news is that a new date has been confirmed for the premiere of BILLICH: BEYOND THE CANVAS. The current border closures have effected the ability for Christa and Charles Billich to be able to travel from Sydney to Melbourne this month and we have been fortunate enough for a new date to be made available for the premiere. 16.01.2022 Mahatma Gandhi once said: in the midst of darkness, light persists. We are feeling that every day with incredible ongoing support from the community during th...e COVID-19 pandemic. And today, that light shone very brightly when we were visited by renowned international artist Charles Billich and his wife Christa, who kindly donated 25 signed limited edition prints to the District. The spectacular prints all came with a note, which read in part: In the blink of an eye the way we live has been transformed in every way imaginable. For many Australians it means being confined in the comfort of our homes, but for all of you on the frontline, it’s a very different story. We thought that by sending you this gift it might help alleviate the stress and tough conditions you are working under. We invite you to lose yourself in the beauty of the painting and feel joy rather than thinking of the difficult circumstances you are enduring. Thank you for being so selfless and brave and putting your own health and safety at risk to get our country through the COVID-19 pandemic. We are so very grateful for this amazing gesture and we are looking forward to having the prints framed and hung around our hospitals for our patients and staff to enjoy. The prints were delivered to our Chief Executive, Dr Teresa Anderson, with some help from nurses Hayden and Christina from the Coronary Care Unit and 6 east 4, Sabita from 10 west 2, and Emily and Jenny from 6 East 1. 10.01.2022 Thank you to all of our valued collectors who joined us for an evening of fine art, caviar, champagne and other delicacies at Billich Gallery last week. We were lucky to be graced by the presence of the Australian Ambassador for Caviar, Lisa Downs, who shared with us the correct way to enjoy caviar, whilst we admired the latest works in Billich's collection.

President of the United States Sport Academy and Museum ,Dr. Tom Rosandich created a worldwide empire ! Our Artist Billich received in 2000 the prestige Order of the Eagle for his sports paintings ,a whole wing of the Academy and Museum are exhibiting Billich’s work up to date . We are very saddened by the passing of this great archiver , Dr. Tom Rosandich !Christa and Charles Billich
