20.01.2022 The 2020 Gippsland Merino Ram Auction was conducted today on Auctions Plus. The sale exceeded all our expectations. We had a total clearance of all 51 rams, with a top price of $6000 for a poll ram (pictured). Rams sold to clients in North East Victoria, Flinders Island, Beaufort and of course, Gippsland. Unfortunately some clients were unable to purchase their requirements, so we will endeavour to offer more rams next year. Thanks to all who took the time to inspect the rams, those who purchased and all underbidders.

15.01.2022 We had another great day at the North East Merinos Sale yesterday. Our poll ram was awarded Reserve Champion All Purpose Sale Ram. Well done to the other vendors on presenting some lovely young rams for sale. Thanks to all who purchased and bidded on the day.

14.01.2022 HIGH AND DRY TIMES FOR WOOL Woolgrowers are reaping the benefits of high prices as records keep breaking. But with every high there's a low, as farmers in Gi...ppsland continue to battle drought. Steven and Lisa Harrison from Bindawarra Merino Stud threw the doors to their shearing shed open this week for the merino field days. Steven says on balancing the high prices and dry conditions: "For us it's been a tremendous year for selling. Prices are good so that's been uplifting. For farmers to survive this long they're rather positive about the future, we just need that thing called rain. Feeding can take 8-10 hours a day, that's not uncommon for other farmers as well; it has been tough."

10.01.2022 The "boys" are all ready for the Gippsland Ram Auction today. The heaviest poll weighed 109kg yesterday (pictured). Very windy conditions but a good crowd building. Full report later.

09.01.2022 Thanks Darren Chester!!

01.01.2022 Important Information Regarding the Gippsland Merinos Ram Auction. Following the reinstatement of stage 3 restrictions across regional Victoria, it has been decided that the annual Gippsland Merino Ram Auction will NOT be able to proceed in a physical setting. The auction has now been changed to an online only format through the Auctions Plus platform. We are disappointed as we feel that our rams are some of the best we have raised over the past few years, however this does... enable all prospective buyers the opportunity to continue to purchase our rams in a safe and secure way. We are still able to allow clients to visit our property to inspect the rams, however this will be on an appointment only basis. Please contact Steve on 0427 468 303 to arrange a time to view the rams. Recent comments from wool agents who have inspected the rams have been very positive, especially regarding the depth of quality of the rams. If you require any documentation to allow you to pass through checkpoints, please let us know and we will forward you a letter to assist with this. For those of you who are familiar with Auctions Plus, the ram details are now available to view, with photos to be uploaded next week. As always, if you have any questions about anything at all, please contact Steve to discuss your requirements. It is more important now than ever before for you to discuss your requirements with your preferred stock or wool agent to ensure that you are able to bid for your preferred lots. We hope you are all able to stay safe and that you find a way to bid this year to enable your own breeding programs to continue into the future.
