22.01.2022 Words from @thissweetlife_ When I wrote Remember Mama the words just came to me and I wrote from my heart. I listened to all of the messages I was receiving on Instagram, from Mums who were struggling and doubting themselves. ........ This book and it’s intentions sit deeply with us here at birth mamas and we are glad we get to share Natalies words with you. What a special gift for any mama or for you to treat yourself too

21.01.2022 Yesterday we had our postpartum depletion circle with Adelle from @scfamilynutritionist. What a reflective conversation. What a diservice that has been done to women and birthing people to brush off the above as "thats normal" For most we learn and hear about postpartum depression and anxiety when we experience it. knowing what to look for when it comes to postpartum depletion can give you an upper hand throughout your post partum journey.... Taking the lead in your postpartum is vital. Connecting with a good care provider such as a nutritionist can give us access to important knowledge about how to best support and nourish ourselves postpartum and help to create a long term sustainable plan to have us thriving again. #pregnancy #birth #postpartum #ritesofpassage #baby #innerjourney #innerknowing #informed #choice #safe #women #doula #birthkeeper #dynamodoula #doubledoula #sunshinecoast #sunshinecoastdoula #sunshinecoastbaby #sunahinecoastphotographer #seen #heard #consent #sunshinecoastmums #birthkeeper #breastfeeding #nutrition #postnataldepletion #newbornmother #holdthemother #postpartumnutrition See more

17.01.2022 The golden hour refers to the first hour after birth when a birthing person has uninterrupted skin to skin contact with their new born baby. The golden hour after birth a period of time that should not be measured by any one person but the birthing person. This is a time of imprinting, instinct and intuition as is birth as a whole. The golden hour is no different.... The uninterrupted connection between mother and baby after birth is vital to bubs instinctive abilities to initiate the breast crawl (which is the instinctive move towards the nipple and attach to initiate the first feed) During the breast crawl Bub is ever so gently (sometimes not) needing the mother’s belly aiding in the release of the placenta aided by the release of oxytocin it is stimulating your uterus to contract to allow your body to birth the placenta whilst also causing the muscles around the milk making glands in your breasts to contract stimulating milk production. *The above information is references to a full physiological birth and 3rd stage* Taking the time to feel into your mind and body and how you want to birth it is important to create a birth plan and ensure that your birth and support team is across it and feel confident in advocating for you in any circumstance that you cannot.

17.01.2022 Your birth plan allows your birth team to be well versed in what is important to you to birth your baby your way. Those that you invite into your sacred space should do their upmost to advocate for and accomodate your birth plan. #sunshinecoast #birthmamas #motherhood #womanhood #sunshinecoastmums #sunshinecoastbaby #pregancy #birth #postpartum #community #connection #support #women #Doula #birthdoulas #postpartumdoulas #sunshinecoastdoulas #sunshinecoastsmallbusiness #sunshinecoastlocalbusiness #sunshinecoastnewbusiness #buderim #mumandbub #mumhustle #bossmamas #herstory #mother #flow #cycle #birthplan #breastfeeding

16.01.2022 We can’t say it enough. Hold the mother not the baby, unless otherwise asked. This a a motto we live by. New born mothers need as much love, warmth, support and nourishment as their newborn babies. So while mum holds and tends to her baby why not hold and tend to her. Making sure she is fed, hydrated, rested, heard, seen, and bathed in love and warmth.

13.01.2022 Women don’t need to be saved from birth, birth will become her. Women need to be held in reverence and witnessed in her power.

06.01.2022 Where do you start when it comes to the prep and planning of your breastfeeding journey into motherhood? Adelle from @scfamilynutritionist has shared 3 fundamentals in prepping for and sustaining the nourishment of yourself and fuelling you for your breastfeeding journey. 1. Preparation, organisation and asking for help is key! Don’t be afraid to buy prechopped vegetables and fruit, ask for a friend to prepare a snack (give out recipes at your baby shower for those who ask w...hat they can do to help!) and/or outsource. 2. Fats and protein to sustain energy levels are essential. Reaching for the sugary snacks can be what we think our body is craving, but really we just want the energy! 3. Check your nutrient levels post partum, a good GP, naturopath or nutritiionist will be able to help you here! Ensuring your stores are optimal means you’ve got a better chance of feeling well within yourself and being able to keep up with your bubbas feeding demands Join as tomorrow as we sit in circle with Adelle and talk all things food for boob. Tickets available at the link in our bio.

01.01.2022 It is not ok that Birth Trauma is fobbed off "just part of birth" Your body didn’t fail to birth, your body didn’t fail to progress.
