13.01.2022 Dolphin alert! On our last expedition in Moreton Bay, we came across a young subadult near Karragarra and Macleay Islands that had a fishing line entanglement a...round its dorsal fin. This dolphin has also been seen off Peel Island. If you are in the Southern Moreton Bay area, please keep a lookout for it and report it to 1300 ANIMAL (1300 264 625) (QLD RSPCA Hotline) to help us keep track of this dolphin and its health. Unfortunately, this is a common occurrence in Moreton Bay and we often see dolphins with injuries from such entanglements in fishing line. You can help prevent such injuries and protect the local dolphins by reeling in your fishing line when dolphins are about, keeping fishing line secure to ensure it doesn’t become marine litter, collect discarded fishing line and litter, keep your distance and abide by dolphin watching regulations (no approach of 50m in QLD), not feeding or attempting to attract dolphins (it is illegal). It is up to all of us together to protect these animals and their habitats. #dolphin #whale #moretonbay #brisbane #quandamookacountry #entanglement #saveourmarinelife #marinelitter #responsiblefishing

10.01.2022 Just a reminder that whilst ANZAC Day will be different this year we can all still take part from our own driveways. The ABC will show a Dawn Service from the Australian War Memorial from 5.30am and you can show your support for our ANZACs at home - light up the dawn at the end of your driveway, on your balcony, or in your living room to remember all those who have served and sacrificed with the virtual candle at the below link. Or use it for moments of personal reflection across the day. #Lestweforget http://www.anzaclive.com.au/
