11.01.2022 What a way to end the year! After two casual contracts Nick has achieved 26 weeks of employment and has been made a permanent Records Officer. Nick first met with Job Search Coordinator Johnny who saw his potential and abilities. Through updating his resume, critiquing selection criteria, completing mock interviews, Johnny saw Nick develop and he confidently interviewed for his role independently. Support Coordinator Julie has been a strong support for Nick, especially in tim...es of doubt when his casual contracts were coming to an end, Julie helped Nick to remain positive. Nick said "I want to thank you for all your support, encouragement and coaching over all the time we have spent seeking a new job for me this year (2020). With your help, I have been able to progress from starting on a contract to getting an offer of a permanent role in a State Government department within six months! A friend of mine encouraged me to make contact with BIZLINK Midland as he had a very good experience from his local branch and thought I would too. When I first met you, I was at a crossroad in my life and I wasn’t sure which way to go. I was feeling that I was not able to get another job at my age, but you built up my sense of self-worth, purpose and direction in my life which gave me the encouragement to try for opportunities I would not have otherwise tried. I want to encourage anyone who is seeking help in finding employment to be bold, take that first step and register with BIZLINK. You will not regret it as the staff are genuinely good people who care for you and your future. This has been the best Christmas present I have received in a long time! 10.01.2022 Good for hospitality industry

07.01.2022 Action Drill & Blast - After three years of mental health challenges which contributed to a lack of motivation, Jeff was introduced to Job Search Coordinator Johnny, by Midland Site Manager Charlie. Initially, Jeff attended appointments with a hat on, covering his face, and appeared to lack confidence. Over time, Jeff started attending appointments without his hat, opening up and communicating his barriers. Jeff had been employed by the same employer for 18 years but was made... redundant. This took a toll on Jeff and his mental health. He is an A Grade Electrician by Trade. Johnny assisted Jeff with updating his resume, reviewing advertised roles and contacting and following up applications. Jeff has made great progress, and BIZLINK could not be prouder of his achievements. He has been at Action Drill & Blast for almost 6 mths. Jeff said about his journey with BIZLINK "After spending a long period of time off work due to unexpected life events, BIZLINK have supported and motivated me back into work. Showing me my self-worth which has led to a new career path at a fantastic company to work for. Six months ago I couldn’t see myself in this position, I even go to work smiling! Thanks again BIZLINK Midland." BIZLINK Midland, recently achieved a 4 Star Rating - all outcomes were Jobs. Pictured in blue shirt Jeff, with Support Coordinator Taylor. See more

03.01.2022 WOW 20 Years of Service! Congratulations Sean. Team Joondalup celebrated this milestone and reminisced about Sean's achievements and contribution to BIZLINK. Sean started out as a Support Coordinator in September 2000 and changed to a Job Search Coordinator in 2002. He was the 2007 winner of the WA Disability Employment Service Employee of the Year Award, has achieved 5 x 100 Club Awards (thats over 500 jobs!), completed his Cert III, IV and Diploma in Disability Services and... is continuously challenging himself with record-breaking job start targets and new employer partnerships. Sean has made a significant contribution to BIZLINK and the lives of hundred’s of people with disability. I employed Sean 20 years ago, he had no disability experience, a sparky by trade. I was so impressed at his interview, I thought how can you not like this guy - Sean has helped our community to become more inclusive and willing to give people with disability an opportunity he has opened so many doors, and whilst at times some would have been shut, his dedication, resilience and incomparable passion for securing quality employment is a testament to his character, fortitude and belief in people with disability cheers Sean, (Tara and the team). 02.01.2022 What a great story. Chris was an inaugural BIZLINK client in the early 90s and his mother, Susan Campbell, continues to contribute as our longest servicing Director of the BIZLINK Board (elected 1994). Sue adds value in many ways, but through her personal experience of BIZLINK has been a strong advocate for decades. Thanks for including BIZLINK in your personal story Chris http://www.disability.wa.gov.au//mateship-the-key-to-work/
