18.01.2022 People get confused at what MTB Fitness is about sometimes. I understand why. I always talk about working hard on the bike. Pushing yourself to the limit. And r...eally digging deep. When you do that it HURTS...which is the opposite of what Im promoting in this post right? I believe you should split your rides. You should have training rides and workouts and fun rides. A training ride is a ride where you have a clear goal - to work your arse off and build your fitness. You may do a gruelling XC ride or you may do intervals. Weights or bodyweight workouts come under this umbrella too. You then have fun rides. These are the rides where you head out to just enjoy yourself. The Sunday bike park day with your mates for example. You will still work hard on these rides, I believe you should push yourself on every ride...but these are the rides where you can enjoy your hard earned fitness. You work hard on the bike and in the gym (or at home) so that you can enjoy riding more. THAT is what MTB Fitness is all about. Helping your everyday rider get fitter, faster and stronger on the bike so you can enjoy riding more! What are your thoughts? : Trace Wiggers and Marmalade MTB
