20.01.2022 This ANZAC Day, i wanted to share the story of one dawn hero, to highlight the effect one story can have on us all. At approximately a quarter to 6 O'clock, i met Keith. As many Bugles and trumpets echoed through the silently busy streets of the Redcliffe Peninsula on the 25th of April, 2020, Keith made his own rendition of The Last Post in Newport. Being new development, the neighborhood is unacquainted with every residency, but Keith's letter-boxing the day before and movin...g performance this morning was a truly special bonding of the street on which he lives. Keith's father was in the REMEs in WWII and played The Last Post himself in the UK, Palestine, Australia and more. Keith told me, "I still have his Cornet, which was purchased the year after I was born in 1954, and played on after dads passing. My mother was in the Land Army and all her teenage years were War Years!" Keith's grandfather was a soldier in the Battle of the Som in WWI, and was from Battersea, London, where Keith was born in 1953 before emigrating to Australia in '64. He honored his father's legacy and learnt to play from his father at the age of just four! He's since played in the Amberley RAAF Band, as well as conducting the Redcliffe City Salvation Army Band at his retirement service in January this year. Later on at 10am, he will play The Last Post for his mother of 93 years while she is stuck in lock-down at her retirement home, dressed in her Brisbane Temple Choir dress from 1991. Images of this second part to Keith's story to come soon. Keith gave me a fine example of a hero that doesn't need a cape. - Lest we forget.

08.01.2022 Word of the day: atelophobia Following dusk, an otherworldly glow holds all night behind the old stonewall at Shorncliffe Pier. It is caused by the light pollution emanating from Brisbane Port and the CBD primarily - with the right timing and framing, you can also catch a plane coming in for landing, always on the same angle. Get out and explore your local areas! -... - - #qldfolk @qldfolk @travelqld @visitbrisbane @brisbaneatnight @brisbane @brisbanecity @queensland @aussie_images @aussiephotos @ozshot @ozscapers @au_shooters @australianphotography_magazine #visitbrisbane #shorncliffe #shorncliffepier #brisbaneport #ozshot @moodygrams @777luckyfish See more

03.01.2022 Thought I’d freshen it up with a Lightroom edit

01.01.2022 Candlelighter Catching dawn from @mtbarneylodge in front of, you guessed it - Mount Barney. The 4th highest Mountain in Queensland, Barney is a 24,000,000 year-old Shield Volcano. NOT for the amateur bush walker. Ft. @tommy_freeo as the staunch talent. - -... - #mountbarney @mtbarneylodge #visitscenicrim @visitscenicrim @destinationscenicrim @scenicrimguide @igers_scenicrim @igersgoldcoast @qldfolk @qldparks @travelqld @queensland @australia @aussie_images @hike_australia @australianphotographyawards #visuallife #ozexplorers See more
