24.01.2022 Thanks! Here at BK Carving we want to send out a huge thank you to all our valued customers, followers, supporters, friends and family for all their support for over 6 years of business! As the page ticked over 10k of followers this weekend we’re reminded of just how important you guys are in helping our little family business grow and continue! ... We’re so keen to keep making custom chainsaw creations for all to see (and purchase of course!) and hopefully continue to bring joy and inspiration to all through the carvings! Due to the COVID impact, It’s been nearly 12 months of no live shows, demonstrations or competitions which have always been a big part of the business and our lives, and although we haven’t seen any of you face to face it’s so great that we can stay in touch over social media and feel your support. So, to every customer and follower that’s kept this thing going and kept us inspired, Thank you!! Here’s a picture of one of my favourite pieces from a time we could travel, from Chetwynd BC Canada 2019, titled ‘Blood, Sweat & Gears’ Brandon & Meg

23.01.2022 I’ve really enjoyed the opportunity to explore and expand my skills of chainsaw carving and adapt them to a style loosely based on Origami and Geometric influences! It’s certainly a different approach to how I’d normally carve, and I think that’s what makes it so motivating and exciting for me. This is a recent custom commission I carried out of some Australian native animals. Thanks for looking!

22.01.2022 Giant Lace Monitor carving completed! Local cypress log provided from the client to go back into the same community. This piece will be installed at Baromi Park Nature Playground in Mirboo North, Victoria. It’s 2.6m in length and the colours are a mix of paint, burning and sanding. Can’t wait to see it put to use in the play area! Thanks South Gippsland Shire Council.

21.01.2022 SWAMP MONSTER Had the opportunity to come up with a very unique and original design for a swamp monster! I actually found it quite challenging to carve without any reference or exact design, however it was a great opportunity for me to use my imagination doing a bit of freestyle carving! 2.1m tall Cypress. Thanks for looking!

20.01.2022 Great feeling to have a big project done, sealed and delivered, with some very happy clients. This project was 8 Australian animal sculptures, to be set up as ‘house mascots’ for a private college in greater Melbourne, delivered off a couple of weeks ago. I’m sure they’ll be enjoyed for many years to come, and I’m thankful for the opportunity!

20.01.2022 Recently I had a great privilege to create a unique carving in recognition of someone who is great man, Martin Hanscamp, who was Principal at Mount Evelyn Christian School - MECS from 02’- 13’. ‘A passionate supporter of Christian Education’, and one who championed the biblical truth that ‘In Christ, all things are held together’ Colossians 1:17. How do I know this? Well, he was my Principal at MECS for nearly 10 years! It wasn’t an easy piece to carve, but it was an absolu...te pleasure to complete this sculpture which is now installed at MECS. It was a joy to work along side some great people. Thanks for looking! 18.01.2022 What an honour to carry out this commission of ‘Mary’ for a school in Melbourne. With a lot of labour, patience, study and chipping away, this one massive cypress log has become transformed! This piece in particular is a great reminder personally for me this Christmas season to celebrate Christ’s birth. Wishing all my family, friends, fellow carvers, customers & online community a wonderful Christmas, and thanks for a super 2019!

Natural exterior of the log with Aussie creatures carved into it including a ‘Perentie’ lizard, Ring Tailed Possum, Echidna and Kangaroo Joey. The inside needed to be gouged out, waterproofed and completely sealed with drainage holes added. Fun project and hopefully the plants thrive in it!
