23.01.2022 { Extra Mental Health Support Available } The Australian Government is providing 10 additional Medicare-subsidised psychological therapy sessions for Australians affected by the second wave of the COVID-19 pandemic. The initiative is specifically targeted at people subjected to further restrictions in areas impacted by the second wave of the pandemic. In addition, anyone required to isolate or quarantine under public health orders is also deemed eligible. The new session all...owance applies to anyone whose movement has been restricted by public health orders from July 1, 2020 through to March 31, 2021. People will have to have a Mental Health Treatment Plan and a review with their GP to access the additional sessions. Federal Health Minister Greg Hunt noted this new initiative will hopefully help alleviate some of the anxiety, fear, stress and panic being experienced by individuals and communities across the country. Mental health and suicide prevention remains one of our Governments highest priorities, and this Government recognises the mental health impact the COVID-19 pandemic is having on individuals and communities, particularly those in areas such as Victoria, where regrettable but necessary measures are needed to stop the spread of the virus. 18.01.2022 { A Word of Warning } At the moment, the Toowoomba rental market is VERY heated, this is due to the sheer number of tenants looking for a property to rent and a lack of stock. As a result, we have been made aware of someone pretending to be the owner of one of the properties we manage and advertising it for rent on Facebook. Of course, they are asking for money to be placed into their account and then they will send you the lease and the keys.... Agents will NEVER ask you to pay money before signing a lease and any money paid goes into a trust account. The bank account details can be verified with their bank to ensure it is a trust account. If you are looking at renting privately please be careful and do everything you can to verify the identity of the owner.

Youre not buying into a city, youre buying into a suburb, so you need to understand that particular suburbs vacancy rate now and in the future, explains Ms. Antonia Mercorella, CEO of the Real Estate Institute of Queensland (REIQ). Around 70% of the States rental market currently faces extremely tight conditions in fact, the tightest conditions see...n in Queensland since the Global Financial Crisis according to the Associations latest quarterly rental vacancy data released. The REIQ June 2020 Vacancy Rates show with over 36% of Queenslands population renting their home (approximately 1.2 million), the States regional areas are currently out-performing major metropolitan areas when it comes to rental demand. With 18% of Queensland regions experiencing less than 1% vacancy at present, youll be hard pressed finding rental accommodation in the likes of Maryborough (0.4%) or Mount Isa (0.5%) the States lowest recorded vacancies for the quarter. Other areas under 1% include Gympie (0.9%) and Rockhampton (0.7%). With more than two thirds of Queensland experiencing tight rental vacancies, its also slim pickings across many popular regions including Caboolture (1.2%), Fraser Coast (1.2%), Mackay (1.3%), Sunshine Coast (1.9%) and Townsville (1.7%) while only marginally higher in Cairns (2.4%), Gladstone (2.0%) and Noosa (2.4%). Blackbird and Finch will be getting on board to support the Yellow Bucket Appeal, which is an initiative of Yellow Bridge.... The goal is to fill and deliver 300 Buckets of Joy to local people in most need. These buckets will provide something above and beyond the normal staples, and give them something special that they might otherwise choose to go without due to budget constraints. We would greatly appreciate your kind donations of non-perishable, gourmet Christmas food to fill the buckets by 15 December. The buckets are the perfect size for smaller items rather than large, bulky ones.
