21.01.2022 2019/20 PRESIDENT'S REPORT & AWARD WINNERS. "To the family of Blackburn North Cricket Club (Players, Sponsors, Life Members and supporters). As we all individually adjust to COVID-19 please remember that we as a club need be available to any person that needs some assistance. Please if you are stressed don’t suffer in silence please pick up the phone and call someone to lighten the burden in these trying times.... On a lighter note our season was a success without bringing home the ultimate prize. This I know will drive our captain Ben Davis, Gary Burke and Glenn Davis and if possible even harder in the off season too put together a team that is the envy of the competition. Our second Eleven were up against it this season but through the constant calls by Craig Osborne we were able to put a side together most weeks. Our sponsors where wide and varied this season and are the main reason we can keep fielding a competitive side year in, year out. Our supporters through their own actions have been the envy of other sides due to the numbers that not only attend home games but also travel to away games. Our committee has again worked hard behind the scenes and with others putting their hands up for our socials has made the season of field a huge success. I have been honoured too serve the club in season 2019/20 and if the club wishes I will put my hand up again. Please see below for our 2019/20 award winners. I could not split the Best Clubman so have made it a joint award for this season. Our Amy Kay has indicated that she would like a gap year next season (All The Best Mate)." Last weekend our 1st XI team 'got the jump' on Bulleen-Templestowe when 'leaping Leigh' Odermatt (4/56) and slow left-arm chinaman Suresh Peiris (3/22) ripped through the visitors' batting order like a 'hot knife through butter', dismissing them for just 157. Bringing a close to the 2019/20 season at the Len Toogood Oval. The club thanks supporters, sponsors and players for their efforts this summer.
