23.01.2022 C A N T E E N H E L P This season we are wanting to set up a trusted canteen sub group which looks to help carry the load across the season allowing the usual crew to watch some games or have a Sunday sleep in. This group would be "in charge" of their home game ensuring the canteen is ready to go for the games. This doesn't mean you have to do everything, it just means you are our go to person for help and organising those around you to make shit happen.... What we need- a nominated person/persons for the below. Friday nights - ensuring canteen is open and managed and sausage sizzle is ready Sunday mornings- across each age group - ensuring the canteen is open and manned and the food is on and ready to go Snr games- a nominated person to cover 5ths, 3rds/4ths to make sure canteen is manned and food is good to go For any Jnr parent wishing to be on the canteen committee and help run Sunday mornings or Friday nights, we will waive your Childs playing fees for the season. You wont need to do the grocery shopping but you may need to pick up the rolls on a Sunday morning. You will be trained on using the POS system too If you are interested, comment below and what grade/day/team you can help with or reach out to Brooke on 0438699557 *** above subject to normal COVID stuff and canteen requirements

22.01.2022 D O N A T E D I N N E R Every Thursday night, the club puts on dinner for our players and members so they enjoy time with their mates and chat about the weekends games. This season, we are running a new fundraising and connection initiative we are calling donate dinner... A donation of $50 or $100 will feed the players on a Thursday night. And don’t panic, you don’t have to cook, the club will do that. We kicked it off last Thursday with a donation from Slugga and his team at Do All Drainage. Donations can be made via direct debit or via the canteen, so let us know if you are interested. Note: image does not reflect the actual dinner that occurs. If buy chance anyone is a chef and would like to cook the image, by all means we will accept that donation too

20.01.2022 S U M M E R P L A N N I N G - JNR and SNR NUMBERS HELP US AND FILL IN A QUICK SURVEY..GO ON, DO IT! https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/BVSTB9Q... As you know, there is a global pandemic and as such, what the season looks like changes daily. As we can't head to training as yet and in the hope we can be better prepared, we have set up a survey monkey to understand peoples intention to play this summer. For some, no baseball for 6 months, may have them counting the sleeps till we start, but for others, they may decide to take a season off. So we would love to understand where people are at....as we are being asked to submit teams to the BV and local council So we know what teams to plan for, we ask everyone to complete this 1m survey. It is anonymous and any info captured will stay with the committee. We are not asking for any details just a tick the box. Survey will be open till Friday 11th Massive thanks in advance B

20.01.2022 R E M I N D E R- BV PRESO NIGHT LIVE EVENT THIS WEEK Remember when we won the Div 1 flag only 6 months ago, some of our players had career high years and the club performed so well as a collective group that we thought we might even have a chance at the Club Championship...well a reminder to tune into the BV Awards night this week to see how we went. ... Details are in the event link but my summation is Wed (DIV 2 & 3) Thursday (Womens Div 2 and 1, Coach of the year, Volunteer of the year plus other awards) Friday (MVP's and club championship etc) For those having not logged onto a live event before, its not a zoom meeting, so they cant see your face. Its like when you logged into watch the penguins a few weeks back :) You just watch. The committee would love for as many Blackburn players and supporters to sit down with a beverage of choice and support the event as it congratulates the amazing effort of players across the league last season (which feels like 18 years ago). Go Burners
