24.01.2022 The Bilpin Fruit Bowl Farm will be open this weekend Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd March from 10am to 4pm both days. Shop is open everyday from 8am to 5pm. We ...are happy to also announce that from this weekend and every weekend up till after Easter, you can purchase show bags here at Bilpin Fruit Bowl. You all turned out in the droves to help support us when we were down and out after the fires and I ask you to now help these poor showbag people who are now in the same situation. They will be setting up their showbag vans in our carpark each weekend. They have bought and paid for these showbags that would have been sold at the now cancelled Royal Easter show. Please come to Bilpin to help them and show them your support. Many varieties of showbags will be available. Could you pls share this post around so they can get the support they need. This weekend we will have available for picking the Royal Gala apples @ $5.00/kg; and Red Delicious apples $5.00/kg; black capsicums (very rare), green capsicums $6.00/kg, zucchini and squash $6.00/kg; eggplants $2.00 each; chillies $12.00/kg; broccoli $6.00/kg, cherry tomatoes $12.00/kg. For everybody waiting on Pink lady apples, they will be ready for picking in 2 weeks time. Pls bring your own carry bags with you. We accept both cash and eftpos. Entry fee to farm is $5 each adult and $3 for children between the ages of 3 and 15. Whilst here on the farm make sure you visit our cafe on the premises for any of our delicious meat pies or equally, very famous, very delicious apple pies, cakes and scones. All pies, cakes and pastries are all made here at the shop. Dont leave Bilpin without one of our apple pies. #backtobilpin #emptyesky #spendwiththem #bestapplepies #showbags #apples #vegetables https://www.facebook.com/showbags.com.au/

24.01.2022 LOVE LOCAL: Shop, Play & Stay local! Blue Mountains City Council is urging residents to spend at least an extra $20 a week locally in 2020, to help the City rec...over after bush fires. The LOVE LOCAL campaign launched today aims to recoup money lost to the local economy after visitors stayed away over the traditionally busy Christmas New Year period, due to bush fires in the upper Blue Mountains. 22.01.2022 Final Spring bulbs are in bloom.

21.01.2022 We received this lovely message in our guest book this week, complete with drawing of Bjorn. I think they did a good likeness!

19.01.2022 Fickle Spring is here. In the last week weve had balmy days in the low 20s, mist, rain and snow. Check out our tulips covered in snow and basking in the sun.

19.01.2022 You never know what you will see when you visit the Blue Mountains.

18.01.2022 The continuing cooler weather has brought the good news that all five fires in the Blue Mountains Erskine Creek, Linden Creek, St Helena, Grose Valley and Rui...ned Castle are under control. Fire crews continue to work together in support of the NSWRFS with crews from local and out of area NSWRFS Brigades, National Park Wildfire Service and Fire Rescue New South Wales on the ground today actively monitoring and patrolling fires to prevent any re-ignition. The work will continue for the next few weeks and you will see those same agencies out in support of the NSWRFS. You will also see aircraft continue to fly over the fire areas to support crews with aerial observation. At Linden Ridge ground crews and aerial support are working on ensuring containment and at Kedumba Valley Fire the strategy is to consolidate containment lines while the conditions are favourable. The St Helena Fire is well controlled and we hope for some good news on that front later today. Residents may still see smoke from back burning operations however if you are concerned call 000 or the Bush Fire Information Line 1800 679 737.

18.01.2022 When you visit you might be greeted by the chookies on one of their forages in the garden.

17.01.2022 Precious rain has fallen and the fires around the Blue Mountains are listed as contained. We have much to be thankful for. We are offering reduced rates over January and February to encourage visitors back to the Blue Mountains. When you visit we encourage you to shop and eat locally supporting our Blue Mountains community.

17.01.2022 The new kitchenette is in.

17.01.2022 The place to be this weekend.

16.01.2022 Always a unique experience.

15.01.2022 Glorious Autumn days lead to brilliant Autumn colour and happy dog and chickens in the yard. A change is on its way though, and this weekends guests might just be lucky enough to get a glimpse of snow.

15.01.2022 A lovely walk today to Empress Falls, followed by morning tea at The Conservation Hut, Valley of the Waters, Wentworth Falls.

14.01.2022 Excellent news for our guests.

14.01.2022 Dutch Crocuses are in flower at Evenstar Cottage. This is the first year after planting so hopefully they will multiply in coming seasons.

14.01.2022 LOVE LOCAL ~ Blackheath The Campbell Rhododendron Gardens in Blackheath are NOW OPEN. They are one of the Blue Mountains most favourite venues where, uniquely,... Azalea and Rhododendrons are planted amongst the native eucalypts and bushland. Covering 18.5 hectares of mountain bushland, the Gardens boasts exotic plants like rhododendrons, azaleas and maples, as well as native varieties. The gardens are gorgeous all year round, with each season offering something different. While the recent fire has decimated their native bushland and about one-third of the Gardens area. And with all this glorious rain, the lake is full. They have a plan, but the recovery will take time, person-power and money. However, some azaleas, bless them, have started to bloom again as though nothing has happened. 08.01.2022 The birds are out and about this morning. The king parrots and lorrikeets are squabbling over the bird feeder, while a Magpie keeps a stern eye on the chickens.

08.01.2022 Snow this morning. Melting now as it has turned to rain. Unfortunately it arrived just too late for our guests who left yesterday.

06.01.2022 We have mist and rain! How wonderful to have limited vision up the street caused not by smoke but by mist.

05.01.2022 Autumn! My favourite time of the year. The temperature starts dropping, the leaves put on a show before creating a colourful carpet, and it is time to break out the beanies and gloves and enjoy hot drinks. A wonderful time to visit the Blue Mountains. Book now and come and see why.
