23.01.2022 PASSING OF JAN MILLER It is with a very heavy heart and a great deal of sadness that I notify everyone of the passing of my auntie Jan Miller. Jan first put me on a horse at age five and was a big influence and teacher for me from that time on. I know that Jan has influenced and touched a lot of people in her life as she met and made many friends along the way. Jan has had a very long and distinguished career in the horse industry from being a former president of the AQH...A, member of the Australian horse council, qualified judge and life member of the AQHA. We will miss her dearly but now she is in a much better place as the pain and suffering has gone. Our Love and thoughts are with Kinnear Jans daughter at this very sad time. See more

21.01.2022 It has been brought to my attention that there were 2 reviews posted under my name not recommending Black Horse Lodge. This could NOT BE FURTHER FROM THE TRUTH...!! I consider Leigh to be the BEST horse woman I know. Leigh is fantastic at what she does and I consider both Leigh and Paul to be personal friends. I have removed these reviews from this page. 15.01.2022 The unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic has impacted us in ways we couldnt have imagined and it continues to test us all. Victoria is at the centre of this pandemi...c in Australia, and how we all behave over the next few weeks determines how successful or otherwise we emerge on the other side. We know there has been a lot of confusion in our community as to what is and what is not allowed. We want to assure you that Equestrian Victoria continues to advocate to government for our broader community, alongside our colleagues at Pony Club Victoria (PCV), Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) and the Horse Riding Clubs Association of Victoria (HRCAV). Today the Department for Health and Human Services (DHHS) has released updated information related to Stage 4 Restrictions, specifically information related to horse riding. We speak to the department on a daily basis regarding the various scenarios presented by our passionate community. Below are the updated guidelines under Victorias Stage 4 Restriction as they relate to horse riding. These have been prepared in consultation with DHHS, Sport and Recreation Victoria and the RSPCA, to provide guidance for our members. https://www.vic.equestrian.org.au//Caring%20_Stage%204_13A We ask you to be vigilant and that all members not look for loopholes in the restrictions and apply common sense and care for yourselves, your horses and the wider community. 15.01.2022 View from my office this morning, Great way to start the day :)

15.01.2022 MASKS ON FARMS From 11:59pm on Sunday face masks will become mandatory for all Victorians when out of their homes. Premier Daniel Andrews has this afternoon ...clarified when masks need to be worn for those who live on farms. The premier called for a common-sense approach, and gave a number of situational examples of when a mask is required. Essentially: If youre working alone on your farm and not coming into contact with other people, a mask IS NOT needed. If youre working on your farm with people who live in the same house as you, a mask IS NOT needed. If youre working on your farm alongside people who do not live in the same house as you, a mask IS REQUIRED. If its a family farm and you and members of your household, then common sense tells you that you dont need to wear a mask, Mr Andrews said. But once you go past the front gate and go into town you would (need to wear a mask). If youve got staff or if youve got people coming to your property to make deliveries or to collect livestock for instance or if you have staff coming onto your property logic just says put your mask on because that person is not part of your household. Even though the farm is your home, thats then a workplace. Full details on the Rural Report from 6.15am tomorrow.

13.01.2022 Easter Completion closes at 6.00pm today please have your entries in by then, hundreds of dollars of great prizes to be won :) Winners will be announced tonight.

10.01.2022 COVID-19 RELEASE ADDITIONAL UPDATE TO STAGE 4 RESTRICTIONS Statement as at 9 August 2020 Equestrian Victoria continues to advocate on behalf of our members and ...provide appropriate advice on a regular basis. We have a further update as to Stage 4 Restrictions as released by DHHS today. We wish to make it very clear that RECREATIONAL horse riding under Stage 4 restrictions remains a prohibited activity. However, you CAN continue to care for your horse, including the provision of EXERCISE, under ANIMAL WELFARE GROUNDS, on the property where the horse is kept, unless it is IMPOSSIBLE to do so, but floating of horses to third party locations is prohibited. The provision of EXERCISE is for the WELFARE of the horse, and NOT as a recreational activity. COMMUNITY SPORT Under Stage 4 restrictions in metropolitan Melbourne, all community sport and recreation organisations must close their facilities.
