20.01.2022 I seem to be making a lot of chocolates lately.these are a salted caramel ganache base stuffed with smooth biscoff, meringue crumbs, toasted coconut, finely chopped hazelnuts and sucre croquettes. I was going to add a dash of vanilla but I thought it might make them a bit OTT.



19.01.2022 I’ve dramatically cut back on caffeine lately. It’s not a problem, of course. I have an iron-clad will and I’m not thinking about coffee at all. The coffee eclair last weekend was a coincidence. So are the cravings for Kopiko sweets and Connoisseur coffee ice cream. I had no ulterior motive in mind when I made these ‘espresso, latte, cappuccino’ pots and the fact that I’m making a coffee semifreddo for my sister and niece when they come over for dinner tomorrow night means nothing. NOTHING!!!!!!

This. I’m so happy. And faintly nauseous, but you can’t have everything

07.01.2022 What do you do when your fav deli stops stocking porcini flavoured potato chipsand you’re working from homeand your niece recently mentioned much your sister loves her homemade chipsand there is ONE chip-quality spud in the houseand there is clean oil already on the stoveand you have a good supply of abs fablis European mushroom stock cubes? This. Currently feeling happy, and very slightly nauseous.



02.01.2022 No styling, no garnishjust dumped on a plate before our Fathers Day afternoon tea. Dad wanted savoury so he got it. Prawns, pork & prawn spring rolls, finger sandwiches, mini Cornish pasties, squishy cheese, and these mini Scotch Eggs inspired by @karenmary8419 about a year ago. Not half bad. Actually, no percentage bad at all! In fact, 100% yum, even though I cooked them in the air fryer; that devils instrument of laziness which I sold my soul to and now don’t want to live without. It’s all good crunchy fun, over here on the culinary dark side :)
