22.01.2022 Due to the wet weather training & classes have been cancelled tonight.

21.01.2022 Re: Comment from Josh Robinson. Mr. Robinson attended Blacktown Kennel & Training Club on Tuesday, 3rd April, unannounced as a visitor. He didnt have the courtesy to approach the President, Senior Instructors or the Office to introduce himself or to learn about how the club functioned. He decided he would help one of our members with her dog, who was having difficulty in controlling her dog. Her dog was overwhelmed by all the other dogs on the grounds. Two instructors had... already assisted this member with a resolution, when Mr. Robinson took the dog without authority and started training the dog. As a visitor to the grounds, Mr. Robinson had no right taking this dog, and was asked to return the dog and leave the grounds by the President. Blacktown Kennel & Training Club Inc has been operating dog obedience classes in Blacktown since 1962. All our instructors have been qualified in obedience training, to a very high level, with many of our dogs graduating and obtaining very high levels of obedience at the Sydney Royal and the State Obedience Titles." Ron Probert ( Committee, instructor and Obedience Judge) Linda Olsen ( President) On behalf of the committee

04.01.2022 Unfortunately in this past week we have seen two confirmed cases of canine parvovirus from the Blacktown area. Parvo is a highly contagious virus that affects ...puppies and young dogs that are unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated. The common symptoms of parvo are: Lethargy Anorexia Vomiting Severe, bloody diarrhoea Fever Weight loss Weakness Depression Dehydration Because parvo is a virus, there is no real cure for it. Treatment is focused on managing the symptoms and preventing secondary bacterial infections. Intensive therapy in hospital provides the best chance for recovery. Parvo is preventable through vaccination. Puppies should receive vaccinations from 6-8 weeks, then boosters at 10-12 weeks, 14-16 weeks and then yearly.
