25.01.2022 Thursday July 25th, 2019. After weeks of studies. Shannon and Linda made the decision to be immersed into Christ for the forgiveness of their sins (Acts 2:38, 8...:36). Nothing mythical, magical, supernatural or sentational. Simply people who want to do what Jesus told them to do in the Bible. They are now ADDED members to the local congregation (the church that belongs to Jesus, in Spencer WI). This is how Jesus saves us by grace through faith. This is what it means to be a repentant believer (Jn. 3:16). He washes their sins away and clothes them (Acts 22:16, Gal. 3:27). He raises them from the watery grave by the power of His resurrection (Rom. 6:3-4). And He adds them to His church/kingdom when they have done so (Acts 2:41, 47). "Water immersion now saves you" (1 Pt. 3:21, Mk. 16:16). Anyone telling you that there is any other way to be right with God, has a dead faith and is lying to you (Js. 2, Acts 4:12). 10.01.2022 A Great Society? Is our society that great? Yes, we enjoy a tremendous amount of prosperity and freedom, much of which we can be thankful. However, it has rea...ched the point that these are often a detriment to our society. Notice some of the things we financially can afford and legally enjoy. Abortion Divorce-at-will Pornography Strip clubs Gambling Alcohol Homosexuality Same-sex marriage Righteousness exalts a nation, but sin is a reproach to any people (Prov. 14:34). It is amazing that so many people do not realize the deterioration of values and morals and subsequent devastation. It is like falling off a cliff. Diving downward is not so bad; it is the thud at the end that causes the problem. People look around and see others hurling down at the same speed, thinking everything is okay. It’s not. At some point our society will hit rock bottom with an enormous thud from which there will be no recovery. Sodom and Gomorrah hit it. Israel did too. Assyria, Babylon, Media, Persia, Greece, Romeall reached a point when God said, No more! His divine wrath brought these nations to an endFOREVER! We will experience the same end. Can’t we stop it? No. The die is cast. So, do we give up? No. We preach the gospel even though it is unpopular (2 Tim. 4:2). We live righteously, acting as salt and light (1 Pet. 2:11-12; Matt. 5:13-16). We do this with fervent prayer for those in government and those who labor for the Lord (1 Tim. 2:1-4; 2 Thes. 3:1, 2). In so doing, we will help redeem the remnant, the few precious souls willing to walk the straight and narrow (Matt. 7:13-14).

His reply was as follows: 1) A lack of Bible knowledge and a light regard with what it says. 2) A tendency to make the church a social club of entertainments. 3) A disposition to compromise the truth and to discourage sound preaching. 4) A love for the praise of men more than the praise of God, lest they should be put out of someone’s social circle. Consider these things carefully and note how the growth of them is causing tremendous problems and harm in the church today. So many care little about the old Jerusalem Gospel.
