23.01.2022 Emergency water outage - West Wyalong, New South Wales Customers with a water supply from Railway Street to Court Street will be currently be experiencing a wat...er outage/low water pressure due to an unforeseen water outage. Goldenfields Water staff are currently attending to the emergency works however we are unsure of the time frame at this stage. What affected customers need to do: - Store enough water for your needs, keep all taps closed and refrain from flushing toilets during the outage. - When water supply is restored you may temporarily experience discoloured water. Check your water quality and run the tap closest to the water meter for a few minutes before drinking or washing laundry. If discoloured water is detected, continue to run your tap until the water clears. If the water doesn’t clear, notify us immediately on 6977 3200 (9am - 4.30pm Mon - Fri) or after hours on 1800 800 917 (24 hours a day, seven days a week). We apologise for any inconvenience and will endeavour to keep customers updated whilst the essential works take place.

Here's what's changing: Agriculture workers: Agricultural workers in Victoria are able to apply for an Agricultural Worker Permit This permit will mean they can enter NSW via land, and won't have to fly to Sydney and undergo hotel quarantine Businesses will need to have a COVID Safety Plan in place, which will be available from 12.01am tomorrow morning at www.nsw.gov.au For more details and to apply from Friday visit www.service.nsw.gov.au or call 13 77 88 Weddings Up to 20 people in the official wedding party can now take to the dance floor at weddings Changes for schools in Term 4: Interschool activities can recommence on September 26 where there is a COVID-19 Safety Plan in place Playing wind instruments, singing and chanting is permitted with strict restrictions Year 6 formals and graduations are permitted High school formals are permitted from 12 November Kindergarten orientation, Year 7 transition, excursions and camps can resume with strict guidelines Musical ensembles can resume, as long as players keep a 1.5 metre distance from one another, or three metres for players of non-reeded woodwind instruments. 19.01.2022 A woman has died after a car and truck collided in the state’s Central West today. About 6.05am (Friday 20 November 2020), emergency services were called to the... Newell Highway, near Mirrool, following reports of a crash. Upon arrival, officers attached to Murrumbidgee Police District found a car and a truck collided, killing one female passenger in the car, and leaving the second passenger trapped. The driver of the car was not injured. With assistance from NSW Ambulance paramedics and Fire and Rescue NSW, the passenger was released and treated at the scene and will be airlifted to hospital. The driver of the truck was not injured and has been taken to Temora Hospital for mandatory testing. A crime scene has been established and an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the crash is underway. The Newell Highway is closed between West Wyalong and Burley Griffin Way. 14.01.2022 Council advises that a section of Operator Street between Short Street and Railway Road will remain closed this evening due to ongoing roadworks. If conditions allow the road may be reopened this evening with traffic to return to normal and all works completed by tomorrow morning.

Throughout the month of October Council will post regular information about mental health services and supports you can access if you are seeking support for yourself, or a love one. Looking after our mental health is just as important as looking after our physical health! The attached image contains contact details for 24 hour crisis lines. These services can be accessed anytime, 24 hours a day. Council encourages residents to save the flyer on their phones or print a copy out and keep it somewhere handy so you know who to call if yourself or a loved one needs support.

06.01.2022 A huge thanks to the 70 + young people who took part in the scavenger hunt today! It was a super fun couple of hours with all groups working together and tracking down most of the items. A big thanks to our local Mayor, Brian Monaghan who also managed to get in on the fun.

If your dog is a restricted dog or a declared dangerous or menacing dog and it is missing, you must notify your local council within 24 hours of it being missing. To help you be reunited with your pet, take the following steps: Log into the NSW Pet Registry (or contact Council) and change the status of your cat or dog on the NSW Pet Registry to ‘missing’. This w...ill prevent a person who is claiming to be your cat or dog’s owner, for example, where it has been stolen, from transferring ownership. Check that your contact details are correct, so that you can be can be contacted when your cat or dog is found. Make sure you have made a note of your pet’s microchip number. If your cat or dog has been found and returned, you must notify Council within 72 hours. This enables Council to update the NSW Companion Animals Register. See more

02.01.2022 Council is extremely excited to be able to roll out The Resilience Project Digital Program to all students in Ungarie Central School commencing in term 1 2021. The Resilience Project delivers emotionally engaging programs to schools, providing practical, evidence-based mental health strategies to build resilience and happiness. Having worked with Australian Cricket, Netball & Soccer Teams, all NRL clubs, and multiple AFL teams, the Resilience Project comes highly recommended and we expect it will have hugely positive lifelong outcomes for the students at Ungarie Central School.
