18.01.2022 Saturday saw the Rams head to Wellington to take on the Redbacks who were flying high after knocking up 50 points the week before over the struggling Canowindra Pythons. Despite winning their last 3 games, the Rams were yet to put in a dominant 80 minute performance and with only 2 games remaining were keen to do so. The rams started well, matching the physicality of the bigger Redbacks side. A penalty was awarded to Wellington just inside the Rams half and their kicker was...Continue reading

15.01.2022 In glorious playing conditions the Rams took on the Canowindra Pythons in the last round of the regular competition. Sitting in third place the Rams needed a bonus point win to give themselves the best chance of moving into second on the ladder and securing a home semifinal. Within minutes of kicking off the Rams were in good field position and a set move off a 20m scrum saw Adam Hamilton reach out and score the first try. Loch Hobby added the extras and the Rams were up 7-0.... The Pythons kicked off and the Rams went on the attack again. Jordan Butler bust through the defensive line to score the next try. A successful conversion had the score extended to 14-0. The confident Rams began attacking from everywhere and when Ben Willis put Baz Hobby into a hole he had no problem beating the fullback and scoring what would be his first of three tries. Lochie Hobby had the radar in and the Rams were up 21 to zip in as many minutes. The Pythons struggled to contain the relentless Rams who began piling on the tries. Ben Willis, Ryan Oborn and Stuart Tait all crossed for 1st half tries with Stuart scoring a long range try after being put in the clear by Baz Hobby after he’d beat serval Pythons defenders. The only relief for Canowindra came on the stroke of halftime when a low kick sat up in the in goal just long enough for their Winger to dive on for their first try. The Rams were up 42-5. The second half followed the same pattern with the Rams running riot through the Pythons. Second half tries went to George Thompson, Zach Stammers, Ethan Hobby and Baz Hobby scoring two more for a total of 3 tries. Lochie Hobby had a good day with the boot kicking 9 from 12. Final score 76-10. The win elevates Blayney to second position and secured a home semi final. The Rams will take on the Coolah Roos this Saturday the 5th of September at King George oval for a place in the Final. Kick off 2pm
