25.01.2022 The first weekend of school holidays does impart a sense of calm. No remote learning (or classes to teach) tomorrow morning, and the entire two weeks that follow. Here's a great opportunity to rest, recover and reflect. Begin.

25.01.2022 Such a simple rhyme but so much learning to be had... how can you move creatively to this story about a caterpillar? Can you memorise it and sequence it back together in the correct order? Older children...how might the soundtrack to this life-cycle sound? On your glockenspiel? On your piano or keyboard? Which instrument makes a quiet sound like the caterpillar sleeping? How about the sound of the butterfly? And at the same time... we're learning the life-cycle of the catterpillar-butterfly. To be continued ...

24.01.2022 Mistakes are a part of life and more often than not, turn you into something better than you were before. Learn from the mis-take so it doesn't revisit.

23.01.2022 There's still time to join us! Best way to learn about your baby's development and MAKE time for uninterrupted music time with your precious little heart. Build a strong foundation. We can show you how. Enquire today. Mon 9:15am and Friday 1pm.

22.01.2022 You could join us for fun music and learning in three weeks time...ENROL YOUR TWO YEAR OLD TODDLER TODAY. We would love to welcome you into our Kindermusik Family. Invite your friends andcousins and you'll have even more fun!

21.01.2022 Your best is enough.

21.01.2022 We never stop learning. I'm teaching myself how to play the ukulele. Keeping my brain healthy.

21.01.2022 Still a work in progress but floor is complete. Cannot praise Melton Mobile Flooring enough. High workmanship and fantastic customer care. What an incredibly hard worker.

19.01.2022 Thank you for the music. Everything is better with music! Have a musical day.

19.01.2022 So incredibly important...

17.01.2022 An exciting announcement to interrupt Sunday evening! Our lovely kindermusik friends Eva in Level 3 and Angelo in Level 1 have a new baby sister, Marissa! Congratulations Tarsia and Paul! All are doing well. Beautiful Marissa entered the world on Monday. Can't wait to meet your new little noisemaker.

16.01.2022 Grasshoppers keep hopping out in front of me in just about every music class at the moment! After three weeks of garden creatures following me around in Kindermusik classes, guess what the next song in our keyboard class was about? Not even planned! . Ask me a question about grasshoppers! I reckon l know the answer. There are many fun grasshopper facts! Hope they don't make their way into my dreams. No crickets . No frilled-neck lizards . No snails . No caterpillars . Don't mind . The joy of teaching little people .

16.01.2022 Wow! What an amazing young boy... and then he performs his own composition! You cannot watch this and not be moved by his story and talent. Everyone can make their dream a reality. https://www.facebook.com/129523463752369/posts/3588301751207839/

16.01.2022 Touch is one of the more fully developed senses at birth. Feeling an assortment of textures stimulates your baby's sense of touch. When you sing about & name the textures your baby's feeling your helping baby associate the experience of touch with the language to describe it. It's this kind of repeated exposure that allows your baby to practice sorting, organising and interpreting the flood of information that comes into your baby's brain through the senses. Our kindermusik classes for babies provide a range of multisensory activities that are sure to excite all of their senses... including their proprioceptive and vestibular systems.

16.01.2022 I love this! Something we encourage (and do) in our kindermusik classes...

15.01.2022 The joy of teaching little people!

12.01.2022 Sunday afternoon in sunny Melbourne...

12.01.2022 Be present. It's the best place that you can be for yourself and your child. Everything falls into place just as it was intended to.

12.01.2022 "Even babies in utero are developing an ear for music". Dr Anita Collins. She also discusses all the ways you can engage your child in music to enhance their other skills!

12.01.2022 Happy Sunday. Relax. Rejuvenate. Re-fuel. Do what makes you feel happy.

12.01.2022 Pressing PAUSE to honour the achievement! TERM THREE IS DONE! Second term in lockdown. Terms 2 and 3 are always the longest and hardest terms in an ordinary year spent at school. Let alone remotely. So look at what Melbourne students and parents have just achieved! Pat yourselves on the back! I am filled with an incredible sense of pride for my own children, all Melbourne kids and most of all.. THE STUDENTS I AM PRIVILIGED TO TEACH MUSIC AT THE END OF A TIRING SCHOOL DAY. St...udents have showed up every week for their music class/lesson; and sometimes their face, eyes, attitude and demeanor told the story of the kind of day (or week) it had been learning remotely from home. Feeling drained, not understanding the work, not wanting to do the work, fed up with parents playing the role of teacher, not being able to see friends and even grandparents, not being able to go to their favourite places. Well done Bloom into Music students. You did the work. You didn't throw in the towel. Parents...THANK YOU! Thank you to those who showed up when you had a million other things you needed to do, for being there for your child/children even on the toughest of days when you had your own stress and emotional turmoil to deal with, for reminding them to do their work, their homework, their theory, for printing music, sending completed work... the list goes on and on. Wishing you a relaxing school holiday break in the beautiful springtime of Melbourne. See more

12.01.2022 We sing, we dance, we explore sounds, we play sounds, we create, we listen, we share, we take turns, we sing goodbye to our Kindermusik friends - but the fun and learning continues...

11.01.2022 Today l was left feeling completely overwhelmed, thankful and appreciated to be on the receiving end of this incredibly generous, thoughtful, scrumptious gift from one of my students and her family. I was left speechless!! To top it off, a friend from high school, whom l haven't seen for more than 25 years, owns this wonderful business and delivered it to my door. Double surprise! Thanks a million Jess! Thanks Lorraine from A' Grazen Thyme. .

11.01.2022 Happiness is a choice we make everyday. Doesn't this look like fun. You don't need alot to create a happy attitude. Music makes me happy. What makes you happy?

11.01.2022 Great advice...

11.01.2022 17 Versions of Jingle Bells! I hope you enjoy this just as much as l enjoyed watching it...

10.01.2022 Minutes every day add up to hours of progress and achievement. Begin. Keep going. Remind yourself why you begun in the first place. Don't lose sight of your dream, your goals.

10.01.2022 "We’ve said kids are resilient, and they are. But they are the real superheroes in this whole scenario for having ZERO say in their lives but doing their best to adjust every day." Here is something to consider as Victorian kids face another lockdown (hopefully only five days this time round)... "Hug your little superheroes and cut them the slack we've given everyone else"

10.01.2022 On Tuesday we put on a share class for our wonderful Level 3 Kindermusik kids who have really been enjoying our 'In the Garden' theme. A few of them have been busy creating creatures we've been singing and learning about in class. Just amazing! Take a look. The lifecycle of the caterpillar- butterfly continued...

10.01.2022 Lots more to go...

08.01.2022 Always! Otherwise you're wasting time. Quality over quantity. In other words...not important how long you sit at your instrument, but rather how you practice during the time.

08.01.2022 Have a happy, musical weekend.

08.01.2022 Here's a quick snap of a few of our Kindermusik Level 5 kids during their final Term 3 class online yesterday. I captured the photo during a moment where l found myself filled with a huge sense of pride and appreciation for what they had just achieved online! So proud of how they, and their heroes behind the scenes (parents), have showed up online, week after week...for two whole terms! They've continued to learn and in a special way... alongside their parent! Together they... have learnt to read and play four notes on the music staff, compose simple melodies, sing the melodies, play the melodies, read rhythms, play rhythms, learn the correct etiquette of how to hold mallets and strike the bars on the glockenspiel, distinguish instruments of the orchestra, play atleast half a dozen simple tunes on the glockenspiel, learn music terms....WOW! What a list and there's more that can be added! Parents and students take a moment to pat yourselves on the back. It's not easy for any child to learn online, let alone a preschooler. It's not easy for a parent to make time to sit in the class (often parenting younger children/babies too!). These parents find their child's required learning materials every single week, sit with them in class, sit with them outside of class to practice and then continue to find ways to encourage, support and motivate their child to keep going. I'm privileged to be leading such a fine group! Its been a tough year but you know what, our children are learning skills and different ways of doing things that they would have otherwise never have done. The graduation at the end of year will be extra special indeed! See more

06.01.2022 More Christmas fun...The Nutracker with new choreography.

06.01.2022 In our Level 3 and 4 kindermusik classes we are exploring timbre. Have you noticed the same song can sound completely different when performed by two different singers or played by two different instruments? If the key is the same, the tempo the same, and the articulation is the same, what is it that accounts for these differences? The answer is the timbre, which refers to the character of a sound. It is the unique colour or tone of a singer's voice, or the sound quality of ...a particular instrument. Kindermusik preschoolers were given the task to find contrasting sounds around their home that we could analyse together. Some our Level 3 kids have been making drums for class. The level 4 kids were asked to create any instrument and think about the materials that they would use to produce a particular sound quality they were after. We had fabulous conversations about how a container drum could sound loud and tinny when played on the metal side compared with the plastic end. One of our Kindermusik kids shared how his drum could be played louder if struck with rhythm sticks instead of his hand. We compared drums made from plastic tubs and balloons, shakers filled with rice. There was a pan flute made from straws and an accompanying explanation of how different lengths were cut and then stuck together in a certain order to produce the difference pitches. We even had one of our Kindermusik kids make a guitar with her dad! These kids were so proud and excited to share! What a fabulous way to learn. What a fabulous way to build expressive communication skills. What a fabulous way to build confidence and self esteem. What a fabulous way to build a child's capacity for musical appreciation and expression. See more

06.01.2022 There might be a dozen things, or more, on your mind or on your to-do-list today. They will get done if they're important enough. If they're not they will be added to tomorrow's list. That's the thing- there will always be a list of things that need to be done. It's never-ending. However, at the same time, moments gone before us cannnot be brought back, opportunities lost will remain losed. The challenge is to remain present and constantly evaluate what matters the most r...ight NOW and then focus only on that one thing. Here's the playtime example for a parent but the same can be applied by a student practising at the piano, completing an assignment... etc etc. The best way for our Kids to learn how to be present, and to also feel that they're important enough for us to be completely present with them, is to model it. Actions always speak louder than words. Be present. Allow yourself time to find joy in the task you're currently working on. The next hour will look after itself. Happy Friday! How did we get to Friday already ?! See more

05.01.2022 Your Mask, My Mask...take a look at what this song is all about. Then decide how you're going to get onboard the FREE school holiday fun and go into the draw to win one of three fabulous MYSTERY PRIZES. This is for EVERYONE big and smal, unenrolled families, and our piano and keyboard students too. Mention the word *PRIZE* and they'll be in it .

05.01.2022 A B S O L U T E L Y. Applies in teaching too. For every "correction" l like to make a point to find three other things to praise. Showing up for a class or lesson is already ONE of them. It's amazing how this approach changes the student's (and the teacher's) attitude and mindset. They become more open to learning and improving. Connection before correction. Everyone wants to feel good about themselves and their ability.

05.01.2022 At Bloom into Music it's always our goal to impart the fun and enjoyment of music to students of any age. Our keyboard courses are jam packed with essental building blocks of music education. Not only are they comprehensive, but they are fun and exciting too. We often begin class with a vocal and body warm-up. Singing from memory extends the students' musical experience in a number of ways including aural memory. We might be learning remotely but that doesn't mean we can't continue the fun and learning at home. It's a teacher's joy to see her students practicing but evenmore so, to see and hear the student's joy!

03.01.2022 Do you hear it? Music is everywhere. I heart it singing in the wind right now. Have a musical day.

03.01.2022 Twelve Days of Christmas like you've never heard it before...

03.01.2022 Wishing you a Christmas that's full of joy, peace and gratitude and a New Year filled with prosperity and blessings. A special thankyou to all Bloom into Music families for your support this year. So very grateful to you. Hope your day is as merry and magical as you have made me feel all through to this challenging year.

03.01.2022 So important...

02.01.2022 It's the last week of Term 3 and we are already gearing up for a fun end to 2020! The pandemic hasn't stopped us. We've found different ways to continue learning and having fun.

02.01.2022 . Thank you for the music. It's an escape from the world. It's speaks and touches us in a way that words alone cannot.
