25.01.2022 Gilbert’s how to.... Continues....

24.01.2022 Happy Birthday to all the horses out there. Its a great day for a ride so hope you are all having fun with your furry friends this weekend. We plan to start our Sunday Funday club very soon so watch out for the announcement.

24.01.2022 https://bluebellhillfarm.com.au/about-us/f/animals Hope you enjoy the second instalment of our farm blog.

24.01.2022 Just some of the painted rocks left behind for us by campers this weekend. It brings me so much joy to find these hidden everywhere on the farm. And well done to the children who found that sneaky Darth Vadar.

23.01.2022 Chris from Walk The Plank has come up trumps again using our old stable planks to make rustic benches. He is a great local carpenter and we will be showcasing more of his work as soon as our shed is built.

23.01.2022 Coffee with cows? Always xxx

23.01.2022 Its been a huge week here at the farm. Weve had the concrete slab laid, the bush toilet plumbed in, the laneway regraded and pipes laid to divert flood waters. All this hard work is slowly bringing our farm back to where it was before the fire. Thanks to all the Gilbert brothers for their hard work.

23.01.2022 We are slightly overwhelmed by this beautiful review of our property. Just one of over 60 positive reviews since we started with Hipcamp Australia All the sweat and toil has been worth it. October 7th, 2020 We camp quite a lot as a family of 4 (two young kids) and this is by far the best campground we have EVER stayed at. Everything was sensational: - Karen is helpful, friendly and just all round lovely person ... - The Meadow is stunning, the grass is amazing and no dirt/sand like normal campgrounds, really safe for little kids as it's not overcrowded and no cars - The sunset spot is incredible, what a lovely touch thank you Karen - Bush is right there, with koalas to spot - Kids loved the animals on the property, was such a treat to feed Tiggles - Fairy garden was so special for kids, they loved the rock painting. 5 days and not once did i hear 'i'm bored' or ask for tv! What a great holiday, couldn't recommend it enough. Even with the beach 30mins - 1 hour away we'll be back again and again!

23.01.2022 The fire that destroyed our sheds and very nearly our home was 8 months ago. To say that NRMA have dragged their feet with our insurance claim is a huge understatement! The whole process so far has been diabolical and at times has played out like a comedy of errors except for the fact that Ian and I are not laughing. We finally have the footings for the concrete slab but whilst excavating the damaged slab, they cracked a corner off the car port slab...you can see it right behind Poppy! I did a mega Karen and went viral with emails and threats! I am now hoping for a very quick rebuild/repair and will be documenting everything that happens. Its gone beyond a joke.

22.01.2022 I just love that our resident koala, who clearly got my memo, appeared right on cue as 4 groups of campers arrived this morning

22.01.2022 At Bluebell Hill Farm we have worked hard for two years to create a beautiful spot for horse owners and campers to revitalise and reenergise their mind, body and soul. U are the most important part of your family and 2020 has the the most stressful year on record. So remember to make time for U and put yourself first. Take a break to reset and look after yourself before others. Cos if you cant love yourself, how the hell you gonna love somebody else? Rue Paul Charles #RUOK #ruokeveryday

22.01.2022 Another off the farm day trip. This time to Wallis Lake, Forster. Its only 45 minutes drive to this beautiful holiday town and the lake never fails to impress. Fishing, swimming, picnics, breakie on the lakeside...its all within easy reach. School holidays are not far away so book a stay at Bluebell Hill Farm and experience the best NSW has to offer. For camping bookings head to Hipcamp Australia and search Burrell Creek and The Meadow.

21.01.2022 New South Wales. You surprise me every time I go away from the farm (which isnt very often!). We are indeed the lucky country and we live in the most beautiful state. With border restrictions still in place now is the perfect time to book a relaxing short break and explore NSW. School holidays and the long weekend are coming up fast so dont miss out. Go to Hipcamp Australia website, search up Burrell Creek and book into The Meadow.

18.01.2022 Spring. If only you could smell the blossoms right now. Just beautiful.

18.01.2022 The first time Ian and I have ever camped in our own back yard was just magical. We were so excited to experience what it’s like to camp in The Meadow. After a cosy starry night by the campfire and waking up to a beautiful morning filled with birdsong, we are giving ourselves a thumbs up and five stars

17.01.2022 Not much water left but it’s still so beautiful down at the creek.

17.01.2022 There’s nothing more special than reading these messages left behind by our campers...it makes all the hard work worth while. Thank you.

15.01.2022 How magical is our Enchanted Forest?

15.01.2022 Today was a great day to explore Bluebell Hill Farm.

13.01.2022 We have been nominated as a finalist in the annual Hipcamp awards for the first time. We have started in 6th position which is amazing. I am hoping that anyone who has camped here will vote for us to be number 1 campsite in NSW. Please vote for us and continue to support our farm. We have so many exciting plans for next year and to win this award would just boost our enthusiasm to make this little business of ours something really special. https://www.hipcamp.com//bluebell-hill-camping-at-the-mead

13.01.2022 Just one of many great reviews we are getting. It’s been busy at the farm campsite and everyone is loving it. Book now through our site at Hipcamp Australia Bluebell Hill Farm is a beautiful scenic property & the perfect place for a peaceful getaway. The friendly hosts wait till you've settled in then come & introduce themselves, tell you about the creek, the koala walk & where the best spot is to view the sunset & give you a free bag of firewood for the firepit. We were very happy with our stay & would definitely recommend it to others.

12.01.2022 Theres nothing more special than reading these messages left behind by our campers...it makes all the hard work worth while. Thank you.

11.01.2022 Spotted a koala today on our trail ride. It stayed all day so all our campers were able to see a koala in the wild for the first time. A wonderful memory for all of them.

10.01.2022 All that hard work is paying off. Now it’s time for you to see just why we are a top Hipcamp host receiving 5 star reviews from our campers. Head to Hipcamp Australia website and search up Burrell Creek. The Meadow is waiting for you.

09.01.2022 Loving our recycled farm furniture made by Chris at Walk The Plank. Our latest purchase is a beautiful hessian print which Chris reframed in recycled timber. Cant wait to unwrap it and hang it up.

08.01.2022 Trying to take a selfie with Nudge is hard work

07.01.2022 Still waiting for the rain to fill our dam but look what just got built!! Hoping that next year our campers can go fishing from this beautiful jetty. 05.01.2022 Lest we forget... Honoring Soldiers with Poppies on Memorial Day The connection between the red poppy and soldiers killed on the battlefield goes back to World War I. World War I was one of the deadliest wars in history. Over 16 million people were killed during this war, and 20 million people were wounded. Furious battles in places like Belgium and France created a landscape full of burned fields, fallen trees, and torn up soil. While flying over these scarred battlefields, ...a soldier named John McCrae noticed the red poppies growing there. This prompted him to pen thefamous poem, In Flanders Fields. The seeds of poppy flowers travel on the wind, scattering across the ground. When the soil is disturbed, these dormant poppy seeds begin to grow. This is why red poppies started to appear on so many European battlefields during WWI. In 1918, a woman named Moina Michael started the tradition of wearing a red poppy to honor and remember the dead from World War I. She worked at the New York headquarters for the Overseas War Secretaries and wanted a way to display her support. She happened to read John McCrae’s famous poem in a magazine and thought of wearing a red poppy in support of fallen soldiers. Others noticed Moina’s poppy and asked her for a flower to wear. Soon, wearing a red poppy became a way to honor fallen soldiers who served in WWI

05.01.2022 The anniversary of the day we stood and faced the Hillville bushfire. Prepare yourself, it’s coming we were told by the Riot Squad and RFS who had locked down the road in both directions. I stood on top of our Ute watching the fire clouds roll towards us and feared the worst. I was constantly on my phone with locals in Burrell Creek as we shared information about the fire front. It was the most stress I have ever been under. Ian let me cry it all out for a bit but told me f...irmly, now is the time to pull up your big girl pants and be ready to fight and protect our home. I can’t tell you how relieved we were after two hours of watching, to see the wind change and take the fire front away from our home. We were safe. But others were not so lucky. The dreadful bushfires of 2019 took so much from so many and they are still recovering. That’s why it is so important to support local people, local businesses and spend your time and money in your local area. Take time to explore your own back yard. #loveaustralia See more

04.01.2022 They say it takes a village to raise a child....well it takes an extended family and some very good friends to create this beautiful place we call home. It has been one hell of a ride through drought, bushfire, floods, house fire and Covid19 but we could not be happier with our first ever business venture....Bluebell Hill Farm. It really is a special place and we want to thank all of you who have worked hard over the past 3 years to help us on this amazing journey - especially Joe, Emily, Gemma, Gavin, Milly, Trish, Chris, Greg, Andy, Stephen & Tom. Thanks also to both sets of parents (Gilbert & Russell) who love and support us in all that we do.
