All the participants and judges. Thanks for choosing my piece as a winner. I would like to thank James Greaves my friend and fellow creative who suggested I enter the competition. I would like to thank all creative artists who have suffered yet survived to continue to create and contribute at the hands of mental unwellness. I would like to thank my big brother Jack Schlink who said days before he died in 2011, Keep dancing with words kiddo. Keep your free spirit flying high. Keep being you no matter what. Jack was a huge influence in my life. Ten years older than me yet my bench mark of writing and creative artistry. This ones for you Jack. I am deeply moved and receive this acknowledgment graciously. From my heart to yours big love and hugs to you all Marita Schlink

15.01.2022 ****BLUE FRINGE UPDATE****

15.01.2022 I am so excited by this announcement and this fab image by the amazing artist, BF exhibitor and supporter, Livonne Larkins. Many of you will know that I am an excitable type of person but sometimes my anxiety gets too much and I have to hide away a bit (feeling down at the lack of excitment). But then along comes Blue Fringe moments like the creation of this image and connection with the amazing BF committee and community and then *boom* back in the groove!... I cant wait to see where this takes us......see you there! Go well Rhonda #bettertogether #artnotcancelled #bluefringe2020

14.01.2022 How are people feeling as restrictions are lifted and the expectation for us to return to normal routines? I feel many of the same feelings as when the pandemic began. I am trying to stay connected with the some of the creative things and people that have helped me through the last couple of months. Go gently, Rhonda https://www.facebook.com/121587069578/posts/10158547171454579/

08.01.2022 The Painting Up Country and Culture project by students at Wentworth Falls College of TAFE is now on exhibition in Katoomba Village, located opposite Deli Xpres...so. The Painting Up Country and Culture project has provided a creative hub for our local Aboriginal community. The project has enriched Wentworth Falls College of TAFE by making and sharing Indigenous art and culture. The groups have created a welcoming place by working collaboratively to design artworks using local stories of environment, flora and fauna. Come and view these amazing artworks and more in centre until the end of August. For more information, click here https://fal.cn/39AET

08.01.2022 Today Blue Fringe Art and Literature Festival recieved the Community Achievement of the Year Award from the Blue Mountains City Council. The award was presented at the Australia Day and Citizenship Ceremony. It was wonderful how the ceremony recognised the Gundungurra and Darug People as the Custodians of the Blue Mountains and the speakers all gave space for how the 26th January represents so much pain for Traditional Owners with mention of Change the Date. It was also ver...y moving to be there to welcome the new Australian Citizens. Congratulations to the Blue Fringe committee for this amazing recognition and to all those people who have been part of Blue Fringe over its 28 years. Always Was, Always Will Be Aboriginal Land.
