25.01.2022 In line with the Department’s guidelines regarding end-of-year activities, students will not be permitted to bring in food to share on the last day of school for a class party. We understand that students look forward to celebrating this day, and instead encourage you to pack an individual treat for your child to enjoy tomorrow, Wednesday 16th. Thank you for your support in this matter.

25.01.2022 5G have been incredibly busy the last 2 weeks. Here are some of the highlights. In maths we worked through different algorithms and word problems, showing great persistence and team work. We also used stop watches to time ourselves completing exercises. Lots of laughs could be heard. In Speaking and Listening, we are working on a unit called ‘Anywhere Island’. We used an atlas to map out where our new island is and created an environmental agency. We are looking forward to presenting our awesome projects! In music we have been learning about beat and rhythm with the most amazing rap battles using Dr Seuss. So much learning and so much fun!

24.01.2022 On Monday, 1F and 1G were very excited after discovering a Christmas crime had occurred in their classroom over the weekend. They had to use their inferencing skills to write a narrative about what happened to the class elves. The students were very engaged and wrote some high quality narratives.

22.01.2022 The BHPS garden group are expecting a huge bean harvest this summer! We grew our bean plants from seeds and constructed the A frames using recycled materials from the school. Great work gardening group!

19.01.2022 On Wednesday, students in years 5 & 6 competed in the annual Roosters 9’s gala day. Our students displayed excellent sportsmanship and school spirit by cheering each other on. Our boys were very unfortunate to not make the semifinals (missing out by only two points on point difference). Blue Haven's girls improved immensely from last year. After winning just one game last year, our girls topped Pool B and made it all the way to the final. All of our students should extremely proud of their efforts. Fantastic job Blue Haven!

19.01.2022 All of us at Blue Haven Public School very much appreciate how difficult this year has been for all children and their families and would like to give all of our students a chance to end the year on a positive note. We are putting on a Water World Incursion for all K-6 students! All students received a note yesterday or today, and permission slips need to be returned to participate. Please read over the note carefully, as there are specific clothing items that must be worn. We can't wait for the day! 18.01.2022 Look at how clever we are in KK representing teen numbers. Kindergarten have been learning about teen numbers. We know all the teen numbers are made using a group of ten then adding some more. Great work KK!

17.01.2022 Mrs De Zordo, a parent and teacher at Blue Haven Public School, has entered the Zart National Teacher Artist competition with her painting Piggy in the Middle. This new national competition provides teachers an opportunity to showcase their artworks, and support their school with free art supplies if they win. Well done Mrs De Zordo. 16.01.2022 KT are having so much fun finding Eric the Elf each morning. Today he was reading his baby a story and yesterday he destroyed our Christmas Tree with toilet paper.

09.01.2022 Santa is coming to town!! This Thursday, 17th December, a very special visitor will be driving around the streets of Blue Haven waving at all our wonderful students. He will start his run at 10am and follow the map as below. Blue is the first lap. ... Yellow is the second lap. Green is the final lap. Santa will be in a white ute dressed up with tinsel and playing carols. Merry Christmas Blue Haven!

05.01.2022 The dental van has almost finished its week here! However, they had too many students to fit into the week. It will now be staying into next week until all students that returned their permission notes have had been seen.

04.01.2022 Due to the current weather conditions, the decision was made that the school grounds will still be too wet to run the Cross Country. Rather than changing the Cross Country into a swimming race, the Cross country has been postponed until next term

04.01.2022 This year Presentation Day will be different to previous years due to COVID. With the social distancing requirements, we are unable to have parents attend. The ceremonies will be recorded and put up online for parents to be able to enjoy. We understand your disappointment, but unfortunately it is beyond our control. More information to come.
