25.01.2022 BUYERS BE WARE OF PEOPLE JUST BREEDING FOR MONEY. REGISTERED PEDIGREE BREEDERS MUST BE REGISTERED WITH THEIR LOCAL COUNCIL, THE STATE CONTROLLING BODY PART OF THE ANKC AND HAVE A KENNEL PREFIX. Unfortunately we have seen way too many scams or dishonest people breeding from lesser quality dogs that may be on LIMITED REGISTRATION - WHICH IS NOT TO BE BRED FROM. If in doubt call you the State Controlling Body to verify details. Pedigrees are clearly labelled if on a LIMITED REGISTER. Please feel free to share to protect buyers.

21.01.2022 For Your Information

20.01.2022 Just Judge the Dog" Tom Horner, famous English All Breeds judge wrote in ‘Take Them Round Please’... When judging dogs you must not be swayed by any consideration, except by the relative merit of the dogs in front of you. You have but one duty: to judge the dogs. Forget the handlers, and forget what the dogs have won previously. Place the dogs as you think they should stand, never mind if the winner belongs to your best friend or your worst enemy. Disregard the fact that you won under one of the exhibitors last week, and that another is judging at the next show. Be completely selfish please yourself and simply judge the dogs and safeguard your reputation. That is the only way to gain respect from your peers. Words that should be heeded by all judges. Win or lose if I feel a judge has done what they believe is right, that is all we can ask of them. My pet hate is judges who ‘cave’ under the pressure, and try and ‘share’ out the awards to try and please everyone, with a little bit of something. Not many judges talk of the pressure, and that is why judging is not for everyone. This is particularly applicable for breed specialist judges who aren’t judging that often, not often enough to develop the ‘thick skin’ they need. Its a lonely place standing in the middle of the ring, with all your peers and friends, presenting their pride and joy for your assessment and you have to make a decision. There will always be winners and losers. That is when the above paragraph, needs to be memorized, and exhibitors need to learn not to take opinions personally, not all dogs are world-beaters. JUDGE WITHOUT FEAR OR FAVOUR!!

07.01.2022 As a breeder you need to remember who buys most of your puppies .. pet people .. so respect them.. respect they may not have all the knowledge, be constructive rather than critical and most of all be nice ..

06.01.2022 How many litters does a breeder have to have before being considered an experienced breeder? They should have bred at least one good litter that they can brag on. This will gain them credibility. They should have had at least one litter that looked great on paper but turned out to be a disaster. This will teach humility.... They should have held (God forbid!) at least one deformed puppy and wept as it slipped into the calm, silent quiet of death. This will provide the heart to be very careful to do everything possible to not see it again. They should have studied the lines and the traits and the greats and the problems each has produced and read all the books they can bet their hands on. This will give them knowledge. Last of all, they should have consulted the greats in the breed and never, never consider themselves to be experienced breeders. They are then, possibly, experienced breeders. Breeding dogs is an art, and not for the faint of heart! Author Unknown
