24.01.2022 Another New Studio on the trail!Blue Mountains Arts Trail no.1 Frank Boyle. Studio : 1 John Street Hazelbrook. Open 17-18th November 10-4pm. Artwork: Carry the Load 30x40cm oil. Frank is predominantly a landscape painter who is drawn to places that evoke the possibility of isolation and solitude. Frank was born in Glasgow, Scotland in 1960 and has been living in Australia since 1982. He began art studies at Seaforth TAFE in 1997 followed by full time study at the Nation...al Art School from where he graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in 2000. Frank has since had successful solo exhibitions in Sydney and participated in many group shows. In 2001 he won the Sail Expo Working Artists Prize. My work tends to evolve out of long and deliberate observations of the world around me and portray a sense of mystery. I respond mainly to what I see and the feelings it evokes and if Im happy with any work I produce then hopefully it can speak for itself. T-0402 042 352 [email protected] www.frankboyle.com.au

19.01.2022 Blue Mountains Arts Trail No.6 featuring the beautiful sensual expressionistic paintings and drawings of Adrian Gilbert visit his studio on the cnr Easter and Holmes streets Leura open 10-4pm 17-18th November I live and work in the Blue Mountains outside Sydney. This is an obvious influence on my work but perhaps in a less than obvious way. From the beginning I decided that I was much less interested in topical and local subject matter than I am in pursuing the con...ceptual, the sensual and the beautiful in my own terms. But what those terms mean, needed to be worked through and they are still being worked through! Which is what my work is about! I think all of my artworks address these issues and speak for themselves in one way or another. You can follow Adrian Gilbert Facebook page.

04.01.2022 Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 November, 10am - 4pm. ARTIST FRANK BOYLE is one of thirteen artists opening their studio doors to the public this November during the Blue Mountains Arts Trail. Frank first became interested in art at high school. I could always draw well, but between high school and my mid-thirties I didnt draw at all, he says.... Frank left his native Scotland for Australia in his early twenties, earning a living as a sheet-metal worker. Then he decided to enrol in an arts course at TAFE. I enjoyed it so much I went on to complete a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the National Art School, he says. Taking up art again was one of the biggest and best decisions Ive ever madeits a big part of who I am. Frank graduated in 2000 and won the Stuart Purves Australian Galleries Painting Prize in the same year. In 2001 he won the Sail Expo Working Artists Prize and has since held numerous solo and group exhibitions. When hes not painting, Frank is employed as a disability support worker. Its a nice balance, he says. The upcoming Arts Trail will be the first time Frank has opened his Hazelbrook studio to the public, and he says hes looking forward to the experience. I enjoy interacting with people who are interested in what I do, he says. No two people experience a piece of art in the same way. If people ask me about my work, I like to turn it around and ask them to draw their own conclusions. But I find it a real compliment when people connect emotionally to one of my paintings. Frank says he is inspired not only by the Australian landscape and the Scottish landscape of his childhood, but also by the people and landscapes of India. I travelled to Mumbai in India with my wife, who had a job posting there, in 2008. Living there for a year was a fabulous experience and it was my first opportunity to paint full-time. I responded to the sensory overload of the sights, smells and colours of the place and all the people. It is an amazing country and we return there often for holidays. Arts Trails visitors can find Frank in his Hazelbrook studio between 10am and 4pm on Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 November. ABOUT THE BLUE MOUNTAINS ARTS TRAIL Artists from Woodford to Mount Victoria in the Blue Mountains open their studio doors to the public for the Blue Mountains Arts Trail on Saturday 17 & Sunday 18 November 2018. Visitors on the Arts Trail gain valuable insights about art by interacting directly with the artist.
