25.01.2022 My name is Naomi and I'm here to confess that I'm one of...those people . One of those oily people . I love to use my essential oils to fragrance my home, but since a change in meds made my skin super reactive to off the shelf products, I now also love using them to make my own home and beauty products... . I can't get over how easy it is, with just a small collection of base ingredients, to make everything from body butter to washing detergent . I smell amazing. My house smells amazing. And my skin looks better than ever . I'll be posting some of my recipes for skin care and tox-free cleaners, along with recipes for cooking with essential oils, on my new blog very soon . 24.01.2022 When I have a lot on my plate and start to feel a bit overwhelmed, I like to stop and do something just for fun . Yesterday I took time out and had a play with this Mediterranean Chicken Salad that I was creating for Ketodiet app . Earlier this year, the Australian Institute of Health and Welfare (AIHW) compiled comprehensive data on the prevalence of violence in the home. It found:... . 1 in 6 (1.6 million) women have experienced physical and/or sexual violence by a cohabiting partner since age 15 . 1 woman a week was killed by a current or former partner in the two years from 2012-13 to 2013-14 . 2,800 women were hospitalised in 2014-15 after being assaulted by a spouse or partner. 72,000 women and 34,000 children sought homelessness services in 2016-17 due to family/domestic violence . Intimate partner violence causes more illness, disability and deaths than any other risk factor for women aged 25-44 . The women who choose to leave these situations are the bravest, strongest, fiercest women on our planet and deserve every bit of support and respect that we can give them . 13.01.2022 Confit Garlic . It's an old shot but still a favourite. . This is when I first started to get my styling groove. 06.01.2022 I remember stopping right in the middle of prepping for a shoot to take this photo . It just struck me, the way the light was falling on the asparagus and the beautiful muted tones . It reminds me that the beauty is there in the details, as long as we stop to notice... . It mig...ht only be 5 minutes from me, but I think I need to spend a month or two living in the cottage, especially in that bathroom If you're looking for a country getaway with all the elegant bits, look up the cottage . And my hubby earned his steak by going above and beyond in the hunt for a battery for my remote trigger in the middle of his busy day .
