21.01.2022 We have sister "cities of literature" in Edinburgh, Iowa City, Dublin, Reykjavik, Norwich, Krakow, Heidelberg, Dunedin, Granada and Prague. Melbourne was the second UNESCO City of Literature, awarded the status in 2008. It is very nice to think we are a global community, promoting and celebrating books and reading.

19.01.2022 Mary Dalmau of Reader's Feast Bookstore was co-host on The Conversation Hour on the eve of the History Writers' Festival. Kate Grenville is one of Australia's most celebrated and most accomplished authors. Dame Julia Cleverdon was a delight to meet and visited us, and Kay Craddock, on The Readers' Walk. 17.01.2022 Another wonderful organisation on Collins Street in The Readers' Walk precinct is the Collins Street Baptist Church. They will play host to Reader's Feast's exclusive Melbourne appearance of American crime writer, Michael Connelly, on Friday night, 22nd May, at 6.30pm. Tickets are available at shop.readersfeast.com.au The church personnel, especially Anne, have been great supporters and their Verandah Cafe has added a lovely element to the block.

14.01.2022 An article in today's Age newspaper begins the celebrations for Kay Craddock-Antiquarian Booksellers, marking fifty years in business. It makes mention at the end of the article of a special, free event Reader's Feast is hosting on Wednesday 3rd June, when Kay and Mary Dalmau, from Reader's Feast and thirty-nine years in the book trade, will be in conversation. We would love as many people as possible to join us in congratulating Kay and Muriel Craddock. Mary D. 04.01.2022 This link, supplied by Tim (thank you!) registers the Brendan Kilty/James Joyce Seat at the State Library of Victoria. It came about from me hearing Brendan being interviewed on Radio National in 2004. We are proud to have established and donated this seat to Melbourne. Next time you are at the State Library, visit the seat and enjoy this little nod to "living history". Mary D http://monumentaustralia.org.au//98917-james-joyce-seat-of

02.01.2022 When visiting our lovely city (indeed, the world's most liveable city!) you would be greatly served by having these three Footpath guides - "designed for the curious urban explorer". Buildings on our street, Collins Street, are represented. Mary D

02.01.2022 Readers around the world have the opportunity today, 14th July 2015, to add Harper Lee's "Go Set A Watchman" to their libraries. This is a special moment in publishing history. It will be fascinating to see where this book sits in history alongside "To Kill A Mockingbird".

01.01.2022 Congratulations are due to Kay Craddock for her Lord Mayor's Commendation - a fitting accolade in this, her fiftieth year in business. Mary D
