24.01.2022 What a soul destroying week it has been. Somebody has decided that they like our range so much that they would help themselves, not once but twice,to a total of four of our new rugs. In broad daylight! While we were trading. They have also availed themselves to a selection of our other goods. If you saw anything unusual on either Wednesday or Saturday just gone please let us know. Or if you are the culprit perhaps you could pop the goods back in the same stealthy manner. It has been a tough year. This is not the sort of helping hand we need.

24.01.2022 Blue Scooter is pushing on. As the government directive has stated that residents already on holiday will not have to return home, we have decided to remain open, until what was set to be the end of the school holiday period. So 11am till 4pm daily until this coming Sunday. We will be adhering to all stage 3 restriction requirements and look forward to your continued patience and support during this difficult time.

22.01.2022 What a day in the valley! We have spent some of the morning doing some preliminary shots of our new Kantha-stitched throws from Rajasthan. After a great deal of consideration, We will not be opening over the Easter weekend. We will be working on site and are more than happy to open by appointment. 0408120279.

We are glad to say it has allowed us to keep our head above water. We dream of a return to normal valley life but for now we continue to trade in a limited capacity. 09.01.2022 So here is our first online offering! These beautiful Rajasthani throws are double cotton with hand Kantha stitching. Each of these delightful throws feature a beautiful, lush, boho inspired bird and floral motive. They are 170cm x240cm making them ideal sofa blankets or covers. All of our shipments have managed to find there way back from India and Thailand to Blue Scooter in Warburton. It has been a very unusual process this time around. Normally we go through our new treasures with our family, friends and customers and each piece evokes a story about where and when we found them and the people we encountered on the way. Its how we process what w...e do, and more importantly who we are. We have had to face a different world since our return home and have put the health of our family and customers first. However we believe that we can, in a small way, return quietly to business. 06.01.2022 Jaipur is famous for its textiles. In some of the surrounding villages, crafts people still employ the methods passed down for centuries. We were in our element there, learning about the traditional dabu, or mud resist, dying. Hand carved wood blocks are used to stamp intricate patterns which are then dyed using, rarely found, natural indigo dye. Being bower birds we couldnt help but fall in love with these Kantha stitched cotton throws. Call for an appointment to view them or message for more details.

03.01.2022 The valley shook with such great force last night, that Possums were blown from trees. I wouldnt have believed it if I hadnt seen it. Majestic trees that make the oldest of our buildings look like temporary campsites, succumbed to the forces of nature. Then this morning a calm returned. The same healing calm that has drawn people like a magnet over recent times. If you are coming to the valley today please take care. Respect social distancing laws. Respect each other... Uzbek: Northern Afghanistan Maimana region. Mid 20th. C. (Pre Soviet era). Hand spun. Hand woven Karakul wool. It is a whopping 390cm x208cm. And still wearing a 20 year old price tag.

01.01.2022 Blue Scooter will remain closed until further notice. In the absence of an official directive from the government we have had to make the call, based purely on what we believe to be both logical and self evident. We are not an essential business and so we must act accordingly. Those familiar with the Blue Scooter family will know that both Tania and I have been overseas recently and are therefore required to self isolate, until 2nd of April. We want to acknowledge our heartfelt gratitude towards our broader family who have all pitched in to make both leaving and returning possible. We couldnt have done it without them. We sincerely hope to see you all sometime soon.
