25.01.2022 We just got a new office plant - a beautiful Golden Cane Palm, which we have (for now) sitting pretty by our main entrance. And thankfully, we have our frontend developer Sandra, to help give some love to it, and make sure it is well looked after. #WorkPlace #OfficePlants

21.01.2022 Homemade #baklava to kick our morning off, here in the BlueSky office!

18.01.2022 2019 was an absolutely fantastic year for us at BlueSky - from growing the team, to increasing our brand awareness and influence in the market, where we saw positives from all angles. We are now better positioned to continue this trend of organic growth into 2020, where we expect the demand for our approach to custom web, apps, and software, to only continue. BlueSky is excited for the challenges ahead, and we would like to take this opportunity to also wish everyone a happy and successful new year!

17.01.2022 Having worked on the Frogponds online sourcing platform for the past few months, both our software developer Estee and creative developer Sandra are more than happy to share their ReactJS "know-hows" with Fanny, who joined us only recently in a work experience capacity. The plan for Fanny, who already has lent her skills to the new Frogponds website (www.frogponds.com.au), is to contribute to the creative and frontend duties currently performed by Sandra and our director Riz - but with a heavier emphasis on React, to provide assistance with backend duties as well. Hence, with this valuable sharing of "real-world" experience - our hope is that she gets up to speed pretty quickly, and will be ready when called upon. #SheCanCode #ReactJS #WebDevelopment #SoftwareDevelopment #Perth #Australia

16.01.2022 Over the past year, BlueSky were involved with projects that were built on the React library - making it the perfect opportunity for our latest intern to not only learn all there is to know about React from our senior developer - but more importantly, how to use and apply them correctly.

16.01.2022 A big thank you to Frogponds for these lovely muffins!

15.01.2022 Our senior developer Parham working on finalizing an app to interface with a client's gyro controller. If you need a custom solution requiring a web and/or mobile app, contact us to book a complimentary exploratory meeting.

14.01.2022 The new and improved Frogponds online sourcing platform is now live. BlueSky took on the old Frogponds procurement system about a year ago, and has since upgraded its codebase to run on #ReactJS, while giving the interface a fresh new facelift with an improved user experience. It still is the same great free service for Frogponds' school users - but is now available in a #Software package as a service option for associations and governing bodies. Join the Frogponds national p...ond by signing up via www.frogponds.com.au, or contact them for more information on creating your own pond at [email protected]. 14.01.2022 It looks like our director has enlisted the help of #CaptainMarvel #CarolDanvers to greet visitors to our office - should he be away from his desk.

14.01.2022 Currently setting up a new time-lapse environment for an internal project we're doing with the 3D printer - just another day at the BlueSky office.

14.01.2022 It is always good to see one of our own being active in the "Perth developers circuit" in some capacity.

14.01.2022 Aiming to be a little more eco-friendly here at BlueSky, we have decided to try out these biodegradable & compostable (Nespresso compatible) coffee pods from Pod Co Coffee. Our director Riz just received this "starter pack" shipment from Melbourne - and we just spied him praying they would taste much better than the cheap branded ones we got previously. Wishing him all the best! (yeah, we're letting him try them first .. just in case)

11.01.2022 Today is Dan's final day with the team. So of course, we had to snap one final group photo with him for the album.

10.01.2022 We found out that it takes 3 (software) #engineers to build an Adobe intensive machine. And of course, we will update again when we find the answer to fixing a light bulb

10.01.2022 If you're planing on upgrading your systems and/or websites to the latest version of Fomantic UI (as opposed to starting a new project with fresh markup) - be aware of a minor change to the *icon* classes that may have an impact on your current layouts. #CSS #HTML #FomanticUI

09.01.2022 Dressing up for success - when unplanned things between our director Riz, and our front end developer Sandra, go *fashionably* well.

09.01.2022 Les and Lana Waugh, from Business Key, catching up with our directors in our BlueSky office this morning. Les was a client of the former company our directors were employed at, more than ten years ago - and with both holding senior positions during that time working with Les, a relationship was fostered - and Les was more than eager to work with BlueSky when our directors started the company. The new team at BlueSky has found it easy to cultivate an even better relationship w...ith both Les and Lana, and we provided Business Key with an online Regional Business Directory system they were very happy with. But as 2020 rolls on, upgrades and new functionalities are needed to stay ahead of the game - so it looks like our web system and app developers will have a few late nights the next few weeks! Thank you to both Les and Lana for making it easy for us - and here's to another 10 more (and beyond) years! --- Find out more about the Business Key project on our website at https://www.blueskylabs.com.au//app-developme/business-key

08.01.2022 One of our latest web and app development project involves, well, whatever is in this box. Senior developer Parham has been assigned to this project, along with our most recent developer Abdul. And together, we're pretty sure they would be able to figure out what's in the box - though some of us are hoping there might be chocolates in there! Abdul joined the BlueSky team after completing his Computer Science Bachelor's degree, with a Masters in Data Science. He excels in mobile app development and integrations, and has already lent his skills in other BlueSky projects. Abdul is also a fan of "the beautiful game" and the NBA, and has an avid interest in video games, music, and movies. Be sure to say hi to him if you visit our office!

06.01.2022 The "blue-sky thinking" ethos we adopt here is not limited to client projects - we try to apply it to our internal projects too. Like this "Idea Cloud" v0.1 project, which involves 3D printing, a Raspberry Pi, and some basic electronics. (Blue-sky thinking) - https://www.blueskylabs.com.au/about/story While we're still tweaking it, we're not sure yet how this "Idea Cloud" will be used. But doing such internal projects keeps the team engaged in a fun way, and helps cultivate a... culture of coming up with new ideas to sharpen their creativity and hopefully it becomes "natural" for the team to be able to constantly propose new and exciting ideas for BlueSky clients. #BlueskyThinking #BlueSkyIdeas #Creativity #Ideas #FunAtWork

05.01.2022 BlueSky COVID-19 Statement In light of recent events involving COVID-19, we have initiated measures in order to minimise the risks for us, and our clients and partners. From today, the majority of our team will be working remotely - we hope to create a safer working environment while maintaining our ability to effectively continue developing web apps and software, and continue daily operations in an otherwise "normal" fashion. These measures will be in place until the 14th of... April. However, we will continue to monitor the situation and take recommendations of the Australian government into consideration. Internal meetings will now be kept to a minimum. If you require a meeting with us in person, we are still available however, please get in touch early, so that we can plan appropriately and make sure those required are present. All other forms of communication over email and phone, will remain open during our regular trading hours. If you have any further queries or considerations, feel free to get in touch with us via our online enquiry form, or call us on 1300 001 815. You can read the full statement at www.blueskylabs.com.au/bluesky-covid19-statement Stay safe, be vigilant and continue to look after each other in these trying times. Amel & Riz, Directors, BlueSky

03.01.2022 A Day in Code - a picture book written in code. This, is a Kickstarter campaign we can definitely get behind. Its a picture book for kids to learn or train to think in real world logical (code) concepts - and based on the previews so far, it sure looks like a fun way to help kids start learning, or be interested in coding! Click through to the Kickstarter page to learn more about this campaign.... https://www.kickstarter.com/projects/914595512/a-day-in-code

03.01.2022 We have a new bluetooth beacon based project to "play" with! Grasshopper supports kids' first steps into the digital world through technology and active play - and one of the technology is the PlayGrasshopper, a BLE technology with links into an interactive educational game. We have been tasked to take over from the original development team, and integrate the beacon presses (including light and sound response) to the game - and once completed, we hand it back to them for fin...alisation. Our part of the development has now started - as you can see in the (3rd) photo, our software engineer Christo already deep into his code, with his supply of tea at the ready. #BluetoothLE #BluetoothBeacon #BeaconTechnology #Beacons #EducationalGames #AppDevelopment #CustomWebDevelopment

03.01.2022 Waiting for the long weekend to kick off, like our Project Manager Tim waiting for the team to gather for the group shoot. Happy Chinese New Year and Australia Day to everyone!

02.01.2022 Because "quite a few" is *obviously* not enough, the wonderful Jodie and Alison from Frogponds has gifted us with this cute little succulent to add to our "collection" in the BlueSky office! #WorkPlace #OfficePlants

02.01.2022 We officially welcome Fanny to our team at BlueSky! Fanny, along with fellow TAFE graduates Sandra and Nathaniel, did a work experience stint with us before being offered a full time position. Our aim at BlueSky is to train potential employees in a multitude of tasks, which includes both the front and backend - to help identify how best to utilise their skills, and reward them if they impress. We have a long term relationship in mind with all our employees, hence having the right personnel and skill set is important for us. So if you, or someone you know, is willing to learn and want to work at BlueSky for the long haul, drop us an email with your resume - we are currently on the lookout for a Junior QA Engineer (writing code to perform testing) and React Developers.

02.01.2022 For lunch in the office today, we were served Josh's home made pasta, followed by dessert with Fanny's home made tiramisu. We hope everyone else had a good lunch too!
