12.01.2022 Two months ago today Covid-19 took our industry (and so many Aussie small businesses and charities) by the jugular. There has been huge loss of livelihood and people we respect have done it super tough. Just this week, one of our regions favourite family cafes closed its doors permanently. Beyond devastating for all involved and our hearts are heavy for them But despite the many losses there have been little wins along the way as our state, our government, our citizens, ...our heroic frontliners, our amazing industry, our incredible community have rallied. The support for local business has been unprecedented and heartfelt in these craaaazy times. Couldnt be more proud to live in this stunning city. And so here we are... two months on from ScoMos live conference on the evening of 22 March that saw our business model change indescribably by 12 noon the following day. Most cafe owners wont forget that moment in a hurry BLVD opened for limited dining from this week as restrictions begin to relax in WA, and as usual we have experienced unyielding support (and yips of joy) from our regulars and locals. Our team couldnt be happier. They are an amazing crew who have been the best of humans through allll the changing goalposts of the last 8 weeks. This week some familiar staff faces returned and our OGs continue to make us so damn proud. But hats off and double love most of all to this guy. Come hell and high waters he has risen to the challenge, rallied his troops, pulled countless all-nighters, loved his family well, pivoted, revised, fought the good fight, made some tough, heart-wrenching calls and survived the tumult. And hes still smiling, still unswervingly passionate about doing what he loves for the community we love serving. Hes quite the bossman and our crew are hands down the jewel in his super humble crown. So a massive well done to him, to them, to small business owners everywhere and to all who are doing all they can to support small businesses.
