06.01.2022 I've had loads of new people join my page this week so I thought that I should introduce myself to you all. My name is Bree and B Minor Music is a child led music program where children develop skills in all areas through fun musical experiences. If you had of asked me 10 years ago if I would run my own music company, I would have laughed at the thought but life moves in funny ways and I'm so glad that it does.... You see, I had been working at a childcare centre as a Diploma trained educator for over a decade when our amazing music teacher retired. He was a marvellous man who taught me to play the ukulele through his time running music sessions at our centre. After he left, we tried many companies but none of them seemed to fit our centres philosophy so after a while, our director said, "You run great group times and you're a trained performer, would you like to give it a go." I reluctantly said yes but thought that I would give it a try so would visit each room once a week to do music with the children and then spent the rest of the week as an educator. Over time my music program grew and so did my resources and after a couple of years, I decided that I wanted to branch out so approached some other centres. I called 48 centres asking if they would be interested in me delivering a music program to their services and two of them said yes and from there B Minor Music was born. Since then I have produced an album 'Let's Make Music" which is available in online music stores and am currently working on a new album which I hope to record as soon as restrictions allow. I have also published a nonsense song book called "The Dibble Dabble Ding Dang Bonkers Song" and have a YouTube channel which was created so that when children come home from childcare and ask their families to sing random songs that they have never heard of, that they can reference my channel to help them out. This year has seen B Minor Music moving to online classes and although I miss being face to face with everyone, I have also loved being able to connect with people from around Australia. Head over to bminormusic.com where you can, -Book a class -Watch my latest video clips -Listen to my music -Read my blogs on children's development and hints and tips for families
