25.01.2022 Bushrangers Ride Report 29/11/2020 Peachester Eclectic Throng 2.Eclectic PHILOSOPHY Denoting or belonging to a class of ancient philosophers who did not belong to or found any recognized school of thought but selected doctrines from various schools of thought.... noun: throng; plural noun: throngs 1. a large, densely packed crowd of people or animals. "he pushed his way through the throng. Peachester has a certain MTB Mystic about it, the eclectic throng set out from the end of old Peachester rd climbing up a grippy sandstone track from days of old to the sleepy town proper. Heading SW along a scenic ridge before entering a myriad of single tracks burmed up nicely from moto tyres followed with a selection of open fire roads with challenging ruts, root, just climbable hills and sandy sections to keep you on guard. Some excitement when a huge feral pig cut across the track, luckily a collision was avoided. No pork chops created The regulation downhill section lured in some new and old punters with a few coming to grief (softly) and quickly changing their skin tones to ochre red from the sandstone dust. Several more ungraceful dismounts ensued with moderate bloodletting from FLOTUS. Nothing serious. Cicadas and Bellbirds dulled any noise of a gritty chain and trail Yahooinglots of. Thankfully most deep creek gullies were dry, with only some signs of previous lost bikes bars protruding from the mud. Someone mentioned coffee and then it was on.., a race ensued back to the Peachester café to elevate cake & caffeine levels. Then a downhill blast down serious trial fairy tracks back to start point. Bloody fantastic ride.. Thanks to several ride visitors for joining in the ride. There is always an open invitation to riders from other clubs or travelers to join in any Bushrangers rides. Reminder CHRISTMAS PARTY PARTY PARTY Come join us for a relaxed fun day by the lake. Everyone welcome, the more the merrier. We will meet at Crummunda Park, 39 Coongarra Esplanade, Wurtulla QLD 4575 around 3.00pm on the 5th December. There is a beautiful lake for swimming, canoeing etc, a playground for the kids and plenty of shade to relax for the day, just bring a chair. Keep an eye out for the bushrangers gazebo, we will provide a basic bbq and refreshments, bring a plate to share, byo drinks or own food if you have special dietary requirements. 25.01.2022 RIDE REPORT Charlie Moreland . Mt Alan fire tower. August 2020 Seems to be the bigger the hills the more people turn up and the more of a fantastic ride is had by all. What goes up must come down. A Crystal-clear cool morning had 21 adventure seeking rides gather in dappled sunlight at Charlie Moreland park west of Kenilworth. 8 degrees. Setting out for the mammoth climb up the Sunday Creek rd, as ...the legs warmed, and lungs filled banter slowed except for the grinning E bikers. First lookout set the camera shutters alight before moving on up and up and up and then some more up... Scenery changes with the altitude from dry ridges to subtropical rainforest, palms, tree ferns and Giant stinging trees (Gympie Gympie) Note to self : do not use as toilet paper. The temperature dropped notably with altitude as we approached 700m above sea level!! Euphoria and delirium kicked in for riders who had not experienced this relatively unknow forest experience or it may have been due to lack of Oxygen and joyful exertion?? Arriving at Mt Alan fire tower with fantastic Views almost to the coast due to the clear air. Bikes below looked like toys. Most knew and prepared for the 4km & 444m Descent those that didn’t were in for a brake smoking never to be forgotten downhill... blast Yewww!!!! Everyone was speechless from grinning... 33km and 1150m climbing completed. Some carnage ensued as a reported big off occurred involving a tree, the ground, a flat Tyre and cartwheeling bike No injury sustained just vivid memories. This is a ride that clears the head and gives a bloody good reason to be alive and pedaling. You cannot afford not to miss these classic rides. Fantastic riding from everyone Big Effort Big Rewards ..Champions. See more

22.01.2022 Well it looks like La Nina might be on its way as our planned ride was foiled by the MTB weather gods, possible due to riders not spending enough time kneeling & cleaning bikes??, this has now changed with recent rains/mud. http://www.bom.gov.au/climate/updates/articles/a020.shtml So, the Mapleton highlands were called upon, Launch point Lillyponds, 10 devout riders gathered in the mist headed North on Mapleton forest drive through tall timbers and subtropical rainforests. ...The challenge was to avoid the tyre grit when descending at high speeds, you know what its like riding with one eye shut and the other blurry with eye watering speed Yaaah Hoooo & hang on tight to the bars, corner what corner???. Down towards Cooloolabin dam stopping to show newer riders some of the scenery. Lots of side tracks and potential loops for later exploration were passed up before arriving at the Dam wall for mandatory photos and linguistic exercises (possibly called Bull shiet). A different loop was put into action for the return climb, cutting back through Baronga rd then heading into the labyrinth of aptly named fire breaks starting at Python Break nice techy downhill. Before climbing the rocky step ups of (death) Adder break with fantastic scenery before joining back to the Cooloolabin-Mapleton rd. The Magic Mile single track was ridden back up to the day use area, traction control and double diff locks were activated on slippery ascents with everyone smiling as the sun came out..it can’t rain forever. 28Km and 730m elevation scared of the demons for another week. Post traumatic coffee, sausage rolls, cakes, shakes and snakes were gleefully consumed at the bakery in good old Mapleton. Edward Kellys (Ned’s) name was mentioned a few times as the club was started up in this town back in 1993. Mega Kudos to all who rode today, great time was had by all and sundry. Trail care next Saturday Parklands 1:00pm, bring your Boots and Trail care crafting skills. Trails don’t maintain themselves they need your input (you ride you dig). Looking forward to seeing you there more details on Facebook. https://www.redbull.com/a/mtb-trail-etiquette-dos-and-donts See more

21.01.2022 Parklands Radar hill ride report. 27/12/2020 Great to see so many riders roll in joining the post Xmas ride, lots of Presents Bling on display from Gloves, Jerseys, socks etc. and who know jocks?? QR Covid compliance sign in went smoothly to assist in keeping the population safer. Weather was moderately cool considering it was mid-summer.... The faster group went into anticlockwise mode, heading for the hills quicker than the sweat running down their faces, various obstacles encountered including a behemoth fallen tree needing a 1+m lift over, group effort.. individualism kicked in several splinter groups formed to include downhill Xmas Gravity. The odd Shower helped cool the core, decrease grip & fancy sideways maneuvers ensued with fear in the rocky sections. Finishing on tracks Ccc, Tazar, Blue tongue followed by a warm down on Lush. Big effort.. hopefully we didn’t leave to many out in the wilderness. Moderate paced and Rookie riders balanced the rotation of the global axis (Parklands) by heading clockwise, checking out all the old favorite tracks, showing newer riders the hidden wonders of these great tracks forged by our Bushranger pioneers. Determined riding from newer riders. Last weeks trail care works were greatly appreciated by riders with tree clearing, signage post work, skills area tidy, drainage works in Lush. Thanks to all who attended Coffee Beans and a variety of refueling merchandise mixed with post ride comradery in Bli Bli at Espresso Bar Café for post ride theatre.. including a personalized Jumbo Jet.. Next week community ride is at wooroi TewantinSunday 3/1/2021

20.01.2022 Sugar Bag Caloundra 20/9/2020 Sugar bag is one of those last remaining inner suburban bush areas with MTB tracks accessible to the locals and visitors to the area, what a brilliant facility for people to live life to the MAX !!! and carve it up on all styles of MTB’s. This place is like a Cherry Ripe in a salad (I know what id prefer !!!) brilliantly set up & maintained by the local club CORCA. Bushrangers ready to roll but a couple of bikes refused to cooperate with a cha...in breaking in the car park and a disrespectful seat post dropping when not asked, best to get mechanicals out of the way early. Santa (Cruz) came early for Paul V riding his new magic carpet in the lolly shop. Objective to ride all tracks which involves so many creative features, double sea saw, numerous timber rollovers, high windy raised skinnies, mega log rides, steep drops and sandstone rock gardens, big rock rolls. Lots of B lines to keep things safe if needed. Big turnout of lady riders upskilling nice work.. Everyone packed in some challenging riding and untapped hidden skills particularly new members with up to 19km . Kudos to ride leaders Paul H and Mr T for keeping the riders in the power zone and on the straight and narrow. To top of diversity Moffat beach was chosen for coffee in the park with magic blue sky and ocean background. Sugar bag with a Cherry on top. Next week’s ride is Wamuran well worth the effort for this one.

19.01.2022 Glasshouse Mountains Ride report. August 2020 If there is one thing that can be said about a Bushrangers Mtb ride they are NEVER BORING. The Glasshouse mountains has a plethora of riding options from wide open spaces and pine forests, sneaky tree lined single tracks, Rocky Gnarly snotty ups and downs , Magnificent Glasshouse Mt views, sick undulating sand stone features and challenging rutty ravines, not to mention Blue skies and the infamous all-consuming gullies if things... get wet although today the weather was stupendous !!! and tracks even better. So 19 crank hardy Bushrangers rode all of the above styles of tracks and then some over 42 Km and 580m elev Gain.. (OK that ads said 25km and 2 hrs but) it was sort of make it up as we went along which to be brutally honest is what makes a great ride even better. Yes, there was some pushing when things got boulderous and inclines neared vertical but there is always a downhill after an up. A few memorable moments, some back tracking, a pedal that went walk about, a huge sandstone rock face borrowed some skin and created bad karma, a loose rocky track threw an E biker, some dank mud puddles shared. All was forgotten with some great native flowers out in bloom and the lure of the coffee & a Patisserie at the end of the ride. Glasshouse bakery was doing a roaring trade added to by ravenous Bushgrangers who scoffed down carbs like they were going out of fashion. The inner glow had returned... Thanks to a multitude of ride leaders, too many to mention and thanks to everyone’s adventurous spirit. One to remember. Next week is an away ride at Promisedland and Toogum as well as the Ewan Maddock dam Social ride. Check calendar for details.

16.01.2022 Cooloolabin Dam ride June 2020. If there is one way to thin a MTB ride it is to add the wrong ingredients bit like making a cake without the chocolate, cream, butter, sugar and not cooking it. Well in this case it mattered not that it was cold, overcast, raining on the coast, mid-winter with low light and some drizzle. The Genie was in the bottle and was about to be released as the decent down Bottle and Glass downhill track was the icing on the cake and the lure of the ri...de ahead. 15 trail hardened riders assembled at the Yandina BMX track determined to make the most out of the gloomy day, and they did.. Splitting in two groups with the traditional ride being started by 7 wayward Bushrangers with a warm up pedal along Browns creek road before facing the demon in the bottle (and Glass) fire road with a climb of 4.8km and 333m elevation, recently graded and hard packed everyone arrived at the top, minds now crystal clear and focused on the next stage of the adventure around Cooloolabin dam and back on to Blackall and Buckby rd on to Point Glorious lookout. On a clear day this has one of the best views on the coast. Today was more mystical with a great photo of the Bushranger inner hub at one with the mountains (see Photo). Heading back on the roller coaster roads to the top of the Single track Of Bottle and Glass. It has it all tight rutty tracks, double jumps, flowy burms, pedally road, loads of character and 4.8km and 333m of descent Yewww. Trail Genies were released, and icing was on the cake in the form or soil and water combined. Second group of 8 set out to do a new ride loop with huge variety of scenery. Past Wappa dam, through a herd of Dairy cows and their aromas, crossing palm lined rock creeks, the spectacular Bread knife past Kureelpa falls, rolling climb to Mapleton day use area, blast down the Magic mile, rocky track of Death adder break, Python break, single track of Coololabin dam. Then blast down the Bottle and Glass downhill as above.. great ride . Real life doco better than NetFlix!! With about 40km achieved by both groups this was one of those rides that will be remembered by the trail hardened worriers. Home to have Cake (with all ingredients) and Coffee. Oh and a 20min hot shower..to get rid of the icing. Great riding everyone Next weeks ride is Ewan Maddock dam community ride see you there. See more

13.01.2022 Parklands: Radar Hill side 8/11/2020 Great day for a ride. light early morning shower, cool temp and a solid turnout of Bushrangers. Preamble welcomed 4 new riders Jye, Gina, Ruby, Leanne ( hope the spelling is OK), ride groups set to catering for everyone’s skill and fitness level, adjustable during the rides if anyone runs out of steam or Volts. Warm up being the hardest part of a ride with the new members group heading to Lush for initiation, this track is a hoot...!! so much fun as newbie or a full blown race fiend Anyone who says a track is boring isn’t going fast enough Ha Ha.Moving on towards more techy tracks . Gumby, Cancer tree, Rock and Roll, Rockadial Blue, Meadows, TNT ETC. Finishing off with the Hoe Chi Ho. New riders were in awe at the mix of tracks, depth of scenery and friendly encouraging support. Really impressive riding , Keep it up. Creativity was the order of the day with for the Frantic fast group seeking out as much techy tracks that Paul the Giant slayer could fit into a superb Sunday Session. Sweaty, slight muddy, trail weary with an inner glow the 2 groups recombined just beating a track quenching deluge at the trail head. Beverages, Bull Shstuff, Banter and Baked cuisine were scoffed down at Forest glen Bakery, No wonder bike shops are selling out of stock with such great places to ride.. Parkies Paradise Tech tips. 1. Slower/ slippery conditions consider dropping tyre pressure a tad. 2. Check out using candle Wax on your chain, You Tube it.!! Oil is Evil dirt attractant. 3. Correct seat height effects pedalling efficiency. Next weeks ride is Gympie, do not forget your water bottle.

11.01.2022 Parklands Atkinson rd. 12/7/20. The lesser know side of parklands Atkinson rd entry is a bit of a hidden gem in the rocky landscape of Parklands Conservation park. Only way to learn it is to ride it. Being recently burned by QPWS, changing for a short while the whole experience from Green grasses and white barked gums to blackened rocky backdrops and charred tree trunks. Amazingly the actual trails remain unburnt making them stand out and easily navigated. 21 riders in ...attendance headed off weaving their way through the diverse single tracks that make this place unique, resent rain brought out the Sweet Smokey aromas of the bush bit like riding your bike and having a BBQ at the same time doesn’t get much better than this.. Ha Ha, although no drinking and riding just to be on the safe side. Making a B line West along NZ, Slip and Bleed (aaah who makes up these names!!!??)? Rock it Man, Hoe Chi Ho tracks to check out the newly upgraded tracks of Tazer, Blue tongue and a bit of a photo shoot on the new tabletop of the skills area. Some excitement with all the dudes sessioning on the tabletop when a tyre decided to try and paint a rider with Blue Tyre sealant after rolling the front tyre off the rim on landing a jump. Tazer was rated best ever condition by the daredevils. Heading back via Cancer tree track, Rock and Roll, Rockadial Black up Red Dog and back to the High country of Atkinson rd. Tracks were remarkably dry and grippy considering recent rains. Three dedicated Bushranger ladies did a rookie ride orientation showing potential new members the Radar hill tracks, much enjoyed by all who attended. Hope to see you again on the tracks. Kudos to the newer riders who put in a massive effort and challengers of parklands, you can feel the hills doing you good, fantastic effort. This place Rocks and then some. Coffee, munchies, and musings was conducted at the Bli Bli Bakery to refuel the tanks. Big Thanks to QPWS Ranger and trail works for ongoing efforts in supporting the MTB community. See more

08.01.2022 Bushrangers Community ride Ewan Maddock Dam July 2020. Perfect cool winter conditions greeted a happy mix of riders at the Ewan Maddock dam car park, hesitantly removing jackets and then heading off along the open tree covered tracks around the picturesque reed lined waters of the southern side of the dam, generating much needed warm in the process. The challenge of the alternate route hill climb was tackled by the eager few who needed to feel the full effects of lactic acid ...in their legs before bombing down to meet the main group. Videos attached. Passing through Landsborough then on to Dularcha old rail tunnel before turning back, several return routes were taken back including some pinchy climbs, rocky drops and shady creeks. Many options in this region catering for a wide range of skills and abilities. Check it out.. Regrouping in Landsborough at two Coffee shops to cater for the size of the group a casual coffee was consumed in the park, photosynthesis and regeneration completed by most we headed back to the infamously named Swamp of Scankyness, with no one consumed in the toxic mud and slime then back along Steve Irwin way to Ferny Forest MTB tracks. What a blast this is, weaving through the narrow flowy track keeps you focused on the corners, close shaves with stumps, roots and trees. Sweet track to hone your cornering skills and race lines or just enjoy the scenery at a slower pace. Back to the Car park Bushranger MTB jerseys were being sold faster than a Hot Coffee on a Cold day, Jerseys still available for $45 contact see Face book posts for details. Thanks to all the new members and riders who attended making this a great Relaxing Social Sunday Community ride. Looking forward to seeing you all again. Next weeks ride Parklands Atkinson roadside see calendar. See more

02.01.2022 Parklands Atkinson rd 13.9.2020 Crazy times Crazy Weather, September is usually the driest month not so this year more like Autumn than spring. With the Social ride at Radar side and Club ride at Atkinson rd side. Great to see kids with mums and dads riding so well in Parklands some real talent coming through the ranks.... A tight nit group of club riders set off down Red Dog track giving more downhill track time than flying down Phoenix which was to be a bit skatey from a recent shower of rain. Regrouping at the 4 ways and heading up Chairlift to gain altitude before hammering Upper NZ then Beehive partially for maximum Rock Culture, topped off with a brutal attack of T track down to the end of cancer tree. Much debate ensued as to recent track realignment of CT with only positive affirmations voiced. A tree down on CT utilised the Bull Elephants in the group to remove it. Blue Tongue and Tazer split the heroes from the preservationists before a Sprint around Lush to practice high speed pursuit skills. Spare parts, Hoe chi ho link track and grind up Rock It Man in a down pour of rain tamed the Lactic acid before everyone arriving back at the Car park JOB DONE . Really Great riding from the newer riders.... Parklands is good for the Soul Next Sunday is Sugar bag see calendar

01.01.2022 Coolum Wooroi return 22/11/2020. 27 Riders came out of the woodwork for this epic ride to tour the coastal Wallum tracks from Coolum to Tewantin and back. The head waters of Stumers creek started the journey then going around the back of Emu Mountain, Peregian springs , Lake Weyba, across to Doonan, then fire roads to Wooroi MTB tracks for a quick snack then into Top Track, Milk maid (E-bikes sessioned Trail blazer Cause they Can.) before heading back on a similar route ...back to Coolum. Memorable moments/ learnings 1. Amazing solid ride effort from riders covering 63km. single tracks, sandy fire tracks and MTB flow at Wooroi. 2. Great scenery of native coastal vegetation. 3. Smell is the strongest memory sense, Dogs should not be allowed to crap on trails. 4. Bring lots of water on adventure ride, 3 hrs can easily turn into 5. 5. Banksy Street artist has moved to Peregian, see tunnel artwork. 6. The tougher a ride the more you enjoy it. 7. The more you ride the more you can eat. Great riding everyone, thanks to the Pro Ride leader Mr T . See you all at Peachester next week for a tall timbers and Trail tails adventure. Plus Country Coffee

01.01.2022 Away Ride Promisedland & Toogoom As they say it’s all about the Journey, what a turnout !!! 25 Bushrangers travelled North destination Promisedland MTB tracks. Ok let’s get this straight from the start!! in Australia we have Tracks in other countries they have trails BIG Difference Ha ha . In the middle of what seems like nowhere (Promisedland) west of Cordalba there is these fantastic formed single tracks that weave through a mix of gullies, ridges, trees, rocks and shad...y vegetation. Absolutely sweet and draws you in for more . Riders seeded into two suitably skilled groups lead out by professional ride leaders Mik-e and Toby not-e. Elbows out, droppers down the Speed demons set out at a tyre bulging pace taking traction to the limit on loose shale corners, braking hard before putting the pedal down to keep up with the Lithium Junkies (Batteries) bit like chasing a lure on a greyhound track, Great fun for everyone with big smiles all round at the rest points. New members and more sane beings enjoyed the burmed up down hills of Pin and Grin more than most. Creativity was rife in track names Skull, Lost, Dingo, Drifty bars, cow bones etc. With 32km and 22km ridden for the morning journey and weather warming groups gathered for refuelling at the shelter. Fresh as a wilting daisy we set off again into the more easterly section to start summer acclimatisation process, temps warming up meant our pace slowed to a trickle after 12km so we all headed back to cooler climes of the sleepy town of Burrum heads for a fantastic evening BBQ catered for by our own professional Chefs, in the best set up at the back of the Pub, Hugh fire pit, music and musings. Thanks Rob for venue selection.. Morning regroup at Toogoom Mtb Hub for a true old-style MTB adventure started at the Pimple tracks 1-11 before the real fun stuff begins. Not for the faint hearted but out the back of Toogoom is absolutely sensational in diversity with gravel up hills to whoopy rollercoaster G out Gullies, Gnarly and more, Sketchy to outright guess which way the next corner is going. Our trusty Local guide is the key to success. Thanks Mikee and Claire (Miss Nextie) for sharing the wanderlust (dust) and smiles on the dials tracks. Sensational riding from everyone on the techy TRACKS Bloody Marvellous effort and friendly folk.

01.01.2022 Parklands Radar hill ride report. 27/12/2020 Great to see so many riders roll in to joining the post Xmas ride, lots of Presents Bling on display from Gloves, Jerseys, socks etc. and who know jocks??
