There are three common ways that people miscommunicate: they either talk too much, use jargon, or speak in generalities. Doing any of these three things can cause your message to be lost, misheard, or ignored. At its worst, it can also create misunderstandings or confusions - which may do more harm than good than had you not tried to communicate at all. Try to practise listening more than talking and keeping your answers short and to the point.
