07.01.2022 Expressions of Interest are opening for this seasons Bronze and SRC course! This course is a great way to give back to your local community and get involved in our club. People of all ages and skill level are welcome and encouraged to get involved. What you need;... To do your SRC you need to be at least 13 years old and able to swim 200m- easy right?! For your Bronze the age requirement is 15, with a longer swim at 400m- still pretty easy, especially with some practice. The Bronze and SRC course involves learning beach and water saftey along with rescue techniques and basic first aid which can also be used in day to day life. This seasons training will start on the 24th of November with participants being assessed before the end of January. This means that you will be able to patrol in our Febuary/March roster! Email me at [email protected] if youre interested in becoming qualified. I know I cant wait for you to join me in keeping our beach safe. :)

07.01.2022 Today is restart a heart day! Only 1 in 10 people survive cardiac arrests. Being trained in CPR, like our lifesavers, gives you vital skills to help those in need. The mantra for restart a heart day is; CALL, PUSH, SHOCK. ... If you are ever in this situation you should: call 000, commence CPR, and shock using an automated defibrillator (AED) Cardiac arrests can occur at anytime, in any place. As pictured below our lifesavers practice these vital skills every year, individually and as a team to ensure their preparation for this situation. To learn these skills you can complete a CPR course, or join us on the beach and complete Bronze medallion training. Seconds can count in cardiac arrest and any effort is better than none. * pictured on our wonderful Angus is a training defibrillator and will not deliver any electrical shocks.

07.01.2022 Have a cuppa and snack, tell us whats important to you or find out more info about local Boat Harbour projects on Monday, September 30, anytime between 6pm -7.30pm at Sweet-Ness at the Sea.
