Mentally, Physically and did I mention MENTALLY!!!! (With NO scales involved) I pride myself on SHF being somewhere people can come and feel mentally at home! A place to breathe when sometimes the outside world can seem a place where you cannot. ... For 1 whole hour 2 if you decide to back it up you get to dedicate a workout and TIME, for JUST YOU! 23.01.2022 A few days late, but I’ve always made sure mental health is an Always Open For Discussion type of thing with my clients, not just on a generic RU OK day. Fitness journey’s can be incredibly Humbling, hard, frustratingly stubborn, time consuming and an A grade student for ups and downs on our Mental Health. Whether it be physical or mental forks in the road, both can play havoc with one another. On many levels. I always love connecting with my clients as best I can. So in the next post, I will tell you a little something that taught me ALOT about myself, and the love for what I do!

20.01.2022 Normal Sunday’s at SHF include cleaning, vacuuming, disinfecting, and covering all floor surfaces in diluted Mentholated Spirits. But this Sunday needed further improvement on sanitation measures. Almost every station has its own hand sanitiser. That we kindly ask to be used BEFORE use of equipment AT ANY TIME, by ALL clients, class members and casual comers. This includes during workouts in class times. Among wearing a mask at all times possible whilst being at SHF... we also hope this extended sanitation method helps keep all our amazing members safe, happy and healthy in the moments we can control Sending out all our Love & Light here at SHF to everyone during this time, and can only hope we all pull through this crazy time, safely and together! @ Bobbie-Lee's Safe House Fitness

HOW AMAZING THAT OUTDOOR SESSIONS CAN NOW GO AHEAD FROM WEDNESDAY 11:59pm SO WHAT DOES THIS MEAN FOR SHF!??? ... - Luckily I have a massive outside area perfect for workouts so sessions will still be ran from the usual spot! - from Monday the 21st of September, there will be 6 classes ran per day. Unfortunately there is a cap of MAXIMUM 10 people PER CLASS, so that is why I have added in more availability in class times. The times of those classes will be; 6am & 7am 8:30am & 9:30am 4:30pm & 5:30pm - there will be a PINNED poll on the SHF PAGE POSTED ON SUNDAY NIGHT AT 6PM with days/ times that you wish to attend, so then it becomes easier to manage what’s available for everyone to see and pick from. This in-turn does mean first in best dressed - if those times don’t suit, I will still be able to run PT’s for those needing times outside of those class times - As for this week, already scheduled PT’s will remain the same. And adulterated accordingly for next week if you are still wanting 1 on 1 sessions. - Lastly, I cannot sincerely thank everyone enough for the amount of support I have been given throughout this crazy ride. 14.01.2022 Just a few killer workouts I myself have done the past few weeks - sometimes it’s nice to see what kind of workouts your trainer does.! There wasn’t anything nice about these workouts, but it’s nice to know your trainer goes through just as much hell as you do.!!! (especially when it involves an assault bike)

I just wanted to let everyone know of a small change in timetable starting as of Next week! So, as of Next Tuesday 5:30pm & Thursday 5:30pm will become a Lifting/ crossfit styled class. With lots of bar and strength work. Focussing on hero/ girls and guy WOD’s. - if you know, you know. Ya know!? Hahaha ... I’m SO pumped to be bringing in this styled of training. And having the opportunity to have HIIT classes alongside strength and bar work! I encourage everyone to come and have a crack at these classes. With lots of variations, abilities and scaling options are encouraged just like our normal HIIT styled classes. 13.01.2022 Hey legends, So, As Your health and safety is always my priority I would just like to inform you of the new updates from today until Wednesday (Another update will be posted Tuesday night) So as we enter a new week, different from all others, I have waited to see what other gyms around Bendigo are doing and what the right steps are moving forward! ... As of midnight tonight it’s mandatory for all Victorians to wear a mask. This includes to gyms and PT spaces. #NoMaskNoTrain Let’s keep ourselves and others safe by doing the following; First step - wear your mask when you arrive and sanitise your hands immediately. Wear your mask while working out and leave it on as you move between workout stations. Keep 1.5m apart. If what you are doing is high intensity and you are finding it difficult to breathe you may take it off. But we ask you to wear it when moving between stations. We also ask for everyone be kind to one another and not to judge those who at times don’t have their mask on. Keeping in mind we are all at different fitness levels, and are on our own incredible journeys of learning what our bodies are capable of These are increasingly uncomfortable and uncertain times we are facing. But in times where we can make a difference and do the right thing, it will go a very long way, and keeps us all together happy and healthy I can’t thank you enough for your understanding and support during this time. So, Iv given this A LOT of thought, and have regretfully decided to cancel tonight’s bootcamp.! - only because of the amount of people going to be at the local swimming pools tonight and so holding a bootcamp swimming WOD, would almost prove impossible - luckily my in ground pool is currently under construction and should be done in the matter of weeks, so any heat like today again on a Wednesday, we can have a swimming WOD at my house, and incorporate my gym stuff as well.! I’m so sorry, and I hope everyone is having a nice and cool day.!
12.01.2022 HAPPY SUNDAY LEGENDS! I just wanted to touch base on something REALLY really important. So as much as gym is mentally and physically incredibly important to our health, there’s also a few other things we need to keep on top of! When we have some people training more then 3-4 times a week, on top of having work commitments, social commitments, family commitments and all the other crazy things going on in our lives, it’s pretty easy to forget about the MOST IMPORTANT TH...ING TO US ALL! Ourselves. With us training at a high level of volume that we do, with high impact, high number of reps, and heavy load, our bodies build up a sort of tolerance to all the pressure we put it under, and that’s fantastic. This means we can do more without become AS sore or AS fatigued. BUT over consecutive weeks and months . . . Where does this tension go!? Where does all the buildup of toxins and lactic acid go!? TRUTH IS: it doesn’t just go, it doesn’t just disappear over time. It just builds over and over day after day everyday. Until we have another muscle that’s more sore then the last. Our bodies sure can take a hell of a lot. We are designed that way. But it doesn’t mean we should take advantage of this, and hold onto tension. Our body’s are like sponges that absorb tension, stress, fatigue, tiredness, and just downright exhaustion once it gets to the point of overfill. So I can’t stress enough how important it is to take that time to TAKE CARE OF YOU! have that bath filled with Epsom salts. Get that massage. Book that appointment to the physio, that acupuncturist, that chiropractor. TAKE THAT NAP!!!! WHATEVER it is that you KNOW you need to do, because your body is telling you too.. please listen let your body REST AND RECOVER Because if you go on and on your body has to and WILL come to it’s breaking point. And generally that means through injury, over a buildup of time and neglect. Your muscles ligaments and joins just give in. So please please listen to the most precious gift of all. Our own incredible bodies. No matter what size, height, weight, fitness level, skin colour or you are. You need to nourish to flourish.
11.01.2022 Who in a million years would have thought that this is were we were at, in this big wild world of ours!? It breaks my heart too see the industry I love come to a major halt! Watching fitness community’s and second homes fall beneath our feet. But in saying that, the come back will be bigger peoples love and hunger for the gym and fitness will be more fiercely greater then anytime before.. ... As it stands on Wednesday March 25th 2020, PT’s are still allowed. Respecting social distancing and hygiene practices. This is where PTs can step up and help our communities. 11.01.2022 It’s hard to be parents and find time to workout around having your children, and worrying about who’s going to watch your kids, whilst you find that 30mins to yourself to give everything you have of what your trainer asks.. But Anthony Sloan and partner Amy are absolutely smashing through their workouts with 2 young kids.! Interpretation sometimes is the only way we can have things both ways, and you know what.!? I think that is bloody brilliant Here is... Amy preforming sit-ups with bubs, and then Anthony preforming KB swings and bubs laughing historically Nothing makes me smile like having the whole fam involved.!! Also, their little girl bakes me goodies on the reg So all in all, a MASSIVE shout- out to these legends killing it.! So proud of you guys.!!

I’ve had a lot of questions asking if I will be still doing 1 on 1’s, and the answer is I definitely will be that’s definitely something that can still go ahead at this stage thankfully! 02.01.2022 In June last year I broke my fibula playing footy! I was out for 18 weeks. Not only in footy but in the gym and work. The first 8 weeks were the toughest on my mental health. The lack of gym and training routine, the non existent stress outlet of everyday frustration. And even just to the point of not being able to go to the toilet without severe pain and anger that I couldn’t just get up and go. I let the pain/ frustration get the better of me, instead of understanding th...at my body needed that time to rest and heal. I took it out on those around me, even when they did everything in their power to make me comfortable. Finally, after the 6 week mark I went back to the gym. God it felt SO GOOD to smell that CrossFit chalk that filled the air, sweat covered floor and the sound of barbells hitting the floor. I was home again. Instantly, my heart raced and that relief and realisation that everything was okay. I understood that things had to be stripped back. Light weights, and only using one foot for every kilometre I rowed instead of running. There was a lot of one legged wall balls, pushups, banded rows, hang cleans, jerks, push press and snatches. But the determination stayed the same. The happiness I gained from just being back in the gym, from that routine and from that stress outlet I was able to understand how much the fitness industry and health meant to me. To miss the grooling sessions that made me crawl out stronger. And the need to never take for granted my body again. Thankfulness, and mindfulness was a MASSIVE part of my recovery. Mentally and physically. I found this made me a better coach. A better listener and better at understanding people’s frustration when their body won’t let them do what their mind knows they can. My setback taught me it’s okay to strip back to the fundamentals. To start over. And stay kind to yourself. Trust the process and enjoy the journey. Love & appreciate yourself more, and take the time out to really thank your body for not only the milestones but the little steps it took to get there. Because one day you will look back and appreciate the lesson! See more

02.01.2022 Sometimes we have setbacks and the one thing breaking my leg has taught me, is that you can’t take MOVEMENT for granted!!! Some days we can’t be bothered or find excuses, but honestly, all it takes is reversing your thought process and REWARD your body, in allowing it to MOVE and build strength DONT take your abilities for granted legends, we are beyond capable of GREATNESS
