23.01.2022 Today, our lovely Ballet dancing patient had an unusual request of us; to be fitted with arch supports for a pair of much loved and danced-in shoes! After receiving treatment for capsulitis, a plantar plate tear and a severe mortons neuroma she is now able to comfortably wear her ballet pumps. Looking at this picture you can clearly see where the blister has happened and why - right heel, heel counter is forward. To get around this, heat the back of the boot with a hairdryer and encourage the leather to bend away from the heel. Some of my mature patients have been feeling very flat, scared and anxious this year, since Covid started in March. They are reminded by there loved ones to not go out, it not safe, and this is correct, but seeing the same four walls for 6 months is soo soo hard for them.
