And to all of the guys still travelling the TTC road, you are not alone - WE SEE YOU - stay strong. 25.01.2022 #FNchallenge and we're two weeks in already! Time flies when you're having fun. It's reflection time again, and probably a good time to remember that sometimes making changes can be hard, but boy, it's worth it. #teamworkmakesthedreamwork #wegotyou

25.01.2022 Just like no two people are the same, no two fertility treatments should ever be the same. We don't believe in a one-size-fits-all approach and we don't just jump straight into IVF. Instead, the Doctors at Fertility North take into account YOUR history, YOUR results, YOUR budget and YOUR needs to create a treatment plan that is designed specifically for YOU.

25.01.2022 Thanks to the Endometriosis Association (Qld), patients suffering from pelvic pain, endometriosis, adenomyosis and PCOS have a new resource at their fingertips - quite literally!. The QENDO app was recently launched and it will ...work to empower those with Endometriosis by providing them a tool whereby they can manage their own care, communicate with others around them and share their experiences within their care network, said President, Jessica Taylor at QENDO. To find out more, click here https://www.qendo.org.au/qendo-app

25.01.2022 You can and you will.

24.01.2022 What if we spent as much time on ourselves as we do on our phones? Ever looked at your Screen Time report? Were you as horrifed as some of us?! We all know its not that good for you, yet we cant seem to help ourselves... So, this weekend, join with us and make sure you take some time for YOU this weekend!

24.01.2022 May the weekend bring you peace and renewed hope.

24.01.2022 We've always loved our Embryoscope time-lapse incubator. While it won't ever make a poor embryo good, it WILL offer us invaluable insight into the development of an embryo and help us to determine which embryo has the best chance of implantation. This report has summarised the combined results of five clinical studies. In 1637 patient treatments, there was a statistically significant improvement in ongoing pregnancy rate as well as live birth rate and a significantly lowe...r early pregnancy loss in the treatments where EmbryoScope was used, compared to traditional culture and evaluation. (, ., .. , . , - : -. , 2017) If you would like to know more about the Embryoscope Plus at Fertility North, give us a call or drop us a line. 08 9301 1075 [email protected] https://fb.watch/25E3FTxdiX/

23.01.2022 So, what does Donor Conception actually involve? We're going to refer to the experts on this one... Dr Sonia Allan holds degrees in law, psychology, public health and global health law. Dr Allan has particular expertise in examining ethical, legal, human rights and regulatory issues related to health and emerging technologies, including assisted reproduction and surrogacy.... Her website, Health Law Central, provides an excellent starting point for reliable and accurate information on donor conception. https://www.healthlawcentral.com/donorconception/

22.01.2022 IUI: Intrauterine Insemination. Navigating the female reproductive tract can test even the very best of sperm - think Ninja Warrior - there are many challenges on the way! That is where IUI comes in. Often used in conjunction with Ovulation Induction (controlled hormonal stimulation of a womans cycle), IUI involves the insertion of a washed sample of only the best sperm directly into the uterus, effectively bypassing some of the biggest obstacles to the sperms journey. ...The Fertility Society of Australia has some great information here https://www.fertilitysociety.com.au/iui-treatment-australi/ For more information on IUI at Fertility North, contact us today!

22.01.2022 Can you have too much of a good thing The short answer is YES

21.01.2022 Not knowing whether treatment will work, side effects of medication, juggling appointments, the financial burden....when combined with the fact that many patients often did not ever expect to struggle with their fertility, can cause a lot of emotional stress. It has even been said that dealing with infertility can be as upsetting as losing a loved one or divorce. But, how you manage that stress can make all the difference to your treatment journey, including the outcome. ...The Irish Times recently commissioned a series of Special Reports on fertility, and in this article they look specifically at stress management. Fertility North offers ANZICA and RTC accredited, specialist counselling services, alongside a team of experienced professionals - Nurses, Doctors and Scientists - all of whom are only a phone call away should you need advice, support or just a listening ear. x

20.01.2022 I V F Here at Fertility North, we pride ourselves on being "more than just an IVF clinic". But, we are also very proud to be very good at IVF too! IVF, or In Vitro Fertilisation literally translates to "fertilisation in glass" and it has been in routine clinical practice for over 40 years now. IVF involves collecting eggs from the female partner and culturing them for a few hours or overnight with a washed sample of only the best sperm, before checking them for fertilis...ation the next morning. Want to learn more about what IVF? Click here https://www.fertilitynorth.com.au/ivf/ Have a proud Fertility North IVF story of your own? Please share below!

12.01.2022 Regular, moderate-intensity exercise is essential for good health, and the better your overall health the better your chances of conceiving. Not only that, exercise releases #endorphins the body's own #feelgood chemicals. Exercise doesn't have to be a scheduled event, incidental exercise counts too! 10.01.2022 Ever wondered what Embryologists mean when they talk about mature and immature eggs? In another really cool sciency video from Embryoman, you can see a polar body popping out from the egg. Because an embryo gets half of it's chromosomes from the egg (23) and half from the sperm (23), the egg needs to get rid of what it doesn't need before it can be fertilised. The polar body is just that - a little blob of chromosomes that the egg no longer required.

09.01.2022 If you smoke, chances are you are hindering your chances of getting pregnant. Research has shown that men and women who smoke take longer to get pregnant than non-smokers. Second-hand smoke is almost as damaging as smoking, and women who are exposed to second-hand smoke take longer to conceive than women who are not. The chemicals in cigarettes can cause damage to eggs and sperm which affects a future childs health. https://www.yourfertility.org.au/everyone/lifestyle/smok...ing Your Fertility Specialist can help get you on the right track, or you can #makesmokinghistory here https://makesmokinghistory.org.au/quitline

08.01.2022 ICSI: Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection. First used clinically in the 1990s, ICSI can be considered one of the biggest breakthroughs in IVF since the birth of Louise Brown over 40 years ago. During an ICSI procedure, under highly controlled conditions, an Embryologist must select an individual sperm and carefully inject it into a mature oocyte. Steady eyes, steady hands and a whole lot of patience go into ICSI. But despite the skill and care involved, fertilisation is not guaranteed. Because ICSI has been shown to offer no advantage over conventional IVF in cases of non-male factor infertility (you can read more about it in the article below), Fertility North only uses ICSI where it is clinically indicated. Part of our less-is-more approach to treatment. https://www.focusonreproduction.eu//News-in-Reproduction-I
