24.01.2022 GOOD MORNING EVERYONE I hope you have all had a great nights sleep in your comfy bed, in the safety of your home and your children and loved ones woke with a smile today Unfortunately for some Women & Children this is not the case, or their way of living and find themselves homeless due to domestic Violence. The Body Shop this Quarter (October-December) are working with an organisation called Launch Housing which is a local Melbourne Company who helps Women & Children ...in these situations. The Body Shop will be donating profits to the organisation to help Fund Housing and furniture. I absolutely love this idea! Especially coming to Christmas! A lot of woman and children will miss out on the joys of Christmas this year and some leave domestic violent homes with only the clothing on their back. so this had me thinking... how can we help? What can I & my VIP group do? Well.... from October-December I ask that you place an order with me for your Christmas shopping and I will use 10% of my profit income to buy soaps & toiletries that will be made up into donation packs and delivered to our local refuge centre here in Bunbury Perth WA want to help further? Why not add a $5 bar of soap to your order to add to the donations? 22.01.2022 100 Coffee Challenge Hi Facebook Friends, As restrictions have eased, I have decided now is a good time to launch my 50 coffees with 50 people challenge...... Thanks so much to David Mead who came up with the original idea & Who I actually had my 1st coffee with for the challenge this moring (post to come) The idea is to encourage & enhance face to face social connections and support local businesses and cafe’s at the same time. I will be buying a coffee for 100 different people (not all at once obviously ) so we have a chance to catch up in person, discuss how YOU are going and offer any promotion to your business (if you wish to do so) in a Facebook post afterwards. To be clear, this is NOT a business push (although I’m always happy to offer some beauty & Skin care knowledge) but rather, a great opportunity to create some positive networking and encourage real life interactions while supporting local businesses. Social distancing rules and regulations will be followed if advised. 22.01.2022 100 Coffee with 100 people update: (COFFEE NUMBER 1) It was great catching up with @David Mead at Dome Butler. David Mead is man behind the idea so it was only right to have the first coffee with him. Think you’ve seen him somewhere before? I bet you have! Maybe it’s from your teen years rocking out to Perth local bands such as AirBag or Flyte.. or maybe you’ve been out recently and seen him play with Blue Gene on the Drums. ... Maybe you’ve seen his face on the side of a bus or even on few TV adds? Or Maybe you are looking into realestate in The Northam suburbs of Perth? David is a very knowledgeable realestate agent for LJ Hooker Joondalup. During our coffee I was able to pick his brain about realestate and where the market is at the moment. But over all David is a loving family Man and spoke very proudly about his children and wife. 21.01.2022 100 Coffee with 100 people update: Coffee Number 2 During the Holidays it was so lovely catching up With Samantha at our brand new park in Bunbury & enjoying a lovely hot take away coffee From Backbeach Cafe & Restaurant... We had a great chat about work, mum life and the exciting news of Samantha and her family building their very own home which sounds absolutely amazing, while the kids had a lovely time playing at the park. Samantha also loves Horses and helps out With lessons/rides for adults. I Love this idea and can’t wait to go along some time soon and give it a go! 20.01.2022 Pollution - how can pollution affect our skin? Smoke, fog and sunlight can create "free radicals", age - accelerating particles that sap the skin's natural ability to act as a protective barrier. Our constant exposure to pollution can weaken the skin, making it appear dull, fragile and lacking in radiance. This is a bigger concern for our city - dwellers and hard to avoid.... Using a good skincare regime and thoroughly cleansing is vital to helping keep skin hydrated and healthier in appearance. Hard Water Hard water contains chemicals, like calcium and magnesium - which may irritate the skin by disrupting the balance of your natural barrier. This can deplete moisture and nourishment, leaving skin dry. Stress Did you know? When our body is stressed it becomes tense and absorbs less water, vitamins and vital nutrients - which can result in dehydrated skin. Stress can also affect our hormonal balance by exacerbating the production of sebum (oil) - this can result in blemishes and blackheads. Here is a healthy skincare regime Step 1 PEEL After cleansing - dry skin thoroughly and gently lift away pollutants, impurities and dead skin cells with our DROPS OF YOUTH LIQUID PEEL Use once or twice a week. Step 2 TARGET Help skin bounce back with DROPS OF YOUTH CONCENTRATE Apply a few drops morning and night for fresher, bouncier, healthier looking skin. There are actually three skin types dry, oily, and combination. 12.01.2022 Think you have dry skin? What dry skin looks like Dry skin tends to look flaky, scaly, and can seem a little dull. You probably won’t have particularly noticeable pores (so there’s that to be grateful for), but fine lines are often noticeable.... What dry skin feels like Dry skin can feel rough in places, and you’ll be no stranger to skin feeling tight post-cleanse. If your skin is dry, you’ll be prone to increased irritation and sensitivity too. Other signs of dry skin? A taught, tight feeling (especially if you try the wrong cleanser!), flaky skin and that feeling that your moisturiser only works for a few hours. What causes dry skin Healthy skin contains natural oils, and it’s their job to keep skin soft and supple as well as lubricating the skin’s barrier to keep moisture in and irritants out. Dry skin? It consistently produces less oil than normal skin. Environmental factors like the wind, cold, pollution, and even hot air, sneakily strip out (even more!) essential moisture, leaving skin feeling dry, rough and slightly worse off. And don’t forget those harsh soaps and artificial perfumes, which can upset the skin’s natural balance and dry out skin. How to manage dry skin While you can’t call time on your dry skin for good, you can help to keep it hydrated and improve its appearance. Firstly, break-up with any drying ingredients lurking in your products, and swap artificial colours and perfumes for kind alternatives like Shea Butter, Hemp and Vitamin E, which can help to gently moisturise and nourish skin. And it’s a no-brainer that dry skin loves moisture, so incorporate oils and richer, more intense moisturisers into your skincare routine (Our Vitamin E night mask is a must have!)
