25.01.2022 BODY VISION UPDATE FROM MICHELLE (For some reason I was not able to post onto this page but now after months it has corrected itself!) Hi there everyone, Hoping this post finds you all well. It’s been a very challenging year for us all and a huge eye opener to how quickly things can turn upside down!... Lots of resilience was required to change and innovate to keep going and home school! It’s been great offering a safe alternative to our clients via the online classes Facebook group during this time. Thank you to those who have reached out with your feedback, positive and kind comments and general support. I am blown away at the resilience and discipline that you awesome people have shown each week. You inspire me and have lifted me up over the last 7 months. A heartfelt thank you to you all. These online classes will be part of Body Vision’s ongoing offers as we know how convenient it is to train at home (sometimes) or take us with you on holidays so you keep in routine. As the restrictions start easing we are able to offer more to our clients- From 28th Sept 26th Oct we can offer outdoor Personal training, either one on one or two people. (30 mins or 45 mins sessions) From Oct 26th to Nov 23rd we can run outdoor classes with up to 10 people. From Nov 23rd, with safety measures in place, we will be able to welcome you to the new studio. I know just how keen many of you are for this stage and believe me so are we! Please let me know (0428418999) if you would like to book a Personal Training session outdoors. I can then call and have a chat to organize it with you. The weather is getting better and our mood can definitely be enhanced for the better with some structured exercise to get you slowly back into some movement other than walking. We are getting excited to see your familiar faces back to regular exercise. It’s been far too long and we have missed the daily interaction with you all. 19.01.2022 Fear, guilt, How am I going to do it all?, feeling unsafe, Feeling unimportant, not feeling valued......this emotional stuff can hold our health and well-being back. No amount of exercise and healthy eating can remove the deep emotions we all push down. I've been there, done that and I've worked on my own stuff and still am because triggers happen occasionally and I want to get rid of them as they come up. The feeling of freedom and peace and inner calm once they are gone is ...priceless. The mind quietens down, the inner turmoil goes and you're left with peace. That's the best way I can describe it. Self development is up to us, it's our life and noone else can change it for us if we are disatisfied with parts of it. 18.01.2022 Body Vision is still working hard to deliver workouts to our clients in an online capacity. If you think online training isn't as effective, think again. Workouts are effective wherever you are, as you can see, you can do them in your garage- they are for your continued routine to make life as normal as possible. ... You can do them in the 6am timeslot if that's what you're used to or night time training or do them live with us. Mentally and emotionally they provide that charge of energy and endorphins to brighten your day. You still feel connected as a community and the sense of fellowship and motivation is high as we all interact as the wonderful fitness family that we are. There is no reason to stop your training especially when no one can tell us how long this is going to go on for. We are open and still providing you challenging workouts studio or no studio. 17.01.2022 Are you working out 3+ times per week and not seeing any changes? It's so disheartening to put in so much effort only to have it not pay off, or even worse, have the opposite effect that was intended. You want to be seeing changes when you put so much effort in!... My goal is to sit around the 18-20% body fat percentile and feel great with my metabolism working well and my hormones balanced. Anything lower and I start to feel low energy and my metabolism and hormones go out of whack. Being defined and toned is a goal that many women have but they just don't train the right way to get there and are not eating enough to help the process. If I knew then what I know now it would have saved me so much time, energy and frustration. Body changes take time and consistent chipping away on a weekly basis with all bases covered. Doing HIIT workouts, (high-intensity interval training) several times a week and expecting to be burning that extra layer of fat is simply not going to happen- unless you starve yourself and that has a whole lot of problems associated with it. You end up exhausted and cranky wondering why you aren't seeing the results you want. 17.01.2022 Self isolation is going to be the PERFECT environment to exacerbate many people’s issues with binge eating, emotional eating, mindless eating, snacking and grazing. Watch out ...it will sneak up before you know it! You don’t need to be an expert to know this means putting on weight! ... You’re bored. You’re stressed with trying to do your job and the whole family under one roof at the same time. You’re fearful and anxious about friends & family, health, and perhaps work & money too. You’re having lots of moments like, what’s the point?, I can’t workout or stick to my diet anyway, I’ll make up for it tomorrow etc. You are way out of routine- the horse has bolted analogy.... IT DOESN'T HAVE TO BE THAT WAY Focus on one thing at a time to get you back on track, to keep you on track. Commit to doing one positive thing for your health then build on that each day. Don't keep looking at external factors, focus on what you can control in your own home. Our community doesn't give up. Don't give in to the mindless pit of apathy. 14.01.2022 Are you the kind of person who has tried every diet out there or bought a pantry full of expensive supplements, super foods or workout shakes in the pursuit of the quick weight loss dream? To get results quicker you do all the latest trendy things like intermittent fasting .You lose a couple of kilos ( water) at the start but then end up staying the same and wonder why the weight is not coming off? Onto the next quick fix...... You want to find a faster, better way to lose fat so you can look great and feel amazing... Maybe if you're like I once was, you'll think if you do cardio every day (sometimes twice a day), that will speed up the process. Or cutting your daily calorie intake to the point that all you do is think of food and get h-angry. If only there was a shortcut or secret...everyone would be where they wanted to be. But I can't emphasize this enough - If you think there's something else out there, if you think there's a better way, if you think these short cut programs are going to get you long term results that you can sustain .....you're focusing on the wrong thing. Just like I was in the past. What I learnt through years of searching is the only way to get your body how you want it to be, is to use the tools you've been given and build it with your own hands step by step, month by month, year by year. This is not the quick way to do things, sure 1200 calorie diets work in the short term but I haven't met anyone (and I've worked with hundreds of women) who can stick to it. Then the weight just piles back on because the person can't starve themselves anymore. Instead of looking for an instant result, look for constant progress. Your own progress, not comparing to others. Start lifting weights. Make sure there is progressive overload in your training.( Progressively increasing weights) Constantly aiming to get stronger. This will change your muscle to fat ratio and help you lose fat and make you look leaner and smaller in your clothes. Look at your daily food intake. Are you getting the minimum recommendation of 90 grams of protein? You can't grow muscle unless you eat a diet that will support muscle growth and fat loss. If you would like someone to look at your daily food intake and give you some hints, please reach out. Constantly progressing each and every day is the key, getting enough sleep, eating well and training smart all add up to progress and ultimately results that you can keep without stress. 13.01.2022 Love this quote! I would bet a lot of money that nearly everyone has an issue with comparing to others at one point or another in life. It can be so detrimental, Oh she does things that way...... She looks leaner than me.... She looks like she's got it all together.... She doesn't look like she struggles with much.... She is prettier than me.... What I really like in this quote is the reminder that we should focus on ourselves and how far we've grown as a person each day. What have we done to improve ourselves today? NOT compare to someone else because you don't know how hard they've worked to get where they are. It takes work to develop yourself whether it be physically, mentally and emotionally. Work every single day so we may as well look at ourselves because that's our benchmark. Joy comes in the doing, the striving, the growing NOT the comparing.



12.01.2022 Does your fear of failure stop you from starting something altogether? Can't succeed, won't even try it...... What's the point if I can't do it well, I'm not going to even bother.... I worked with a lovely girl who felt this way and so never even set foot in a gym because she knew she would fail. Her fear of failure was huge but worse was her state of being, she felt trapped in her own sadness and sense of helplessness at not even being able to try. She was missing out on life because of the emotional turmoil she felt and the limiting beliefs she held about herself. I helped her release those thoughts and emotions and now she is unstoppable. She joined a gym and has not looked back. I hear from people that they have tried everything and nothing has worked to help them get out of the rut they find themselves in. They don't even realise that the story they are telling themselves is the very thing preventing their success. Self-sabotaging thoughts keep you STUCK. I can't lose weight, I have tried many times and failed every time so I won't bother starting. Why am I such a lazy slob, I hate the way I look but couldn't be stuffed doing anything about it. I will fail, I always do. I will never get into those clothes in my wardrobe again. BUT you can. All you need to do is show up for yourself and get ready to release the self sabotage going on. Be open to letting me help you breakdown those self-sabotaging beliefs and replace them with ones that serve you and your goals. Don't let your past dictate your future any longer. After addressing the self sabotaging beliefs, you are free to get on with your weight loss goals or whatever goals or dreams you may have. So if you’ve been in this situation where your past is holding you back, let’s chat. Because the only way to end that cycle is to work through it. Because right now, this fear of failure isn’t preventing you from another failure. It is preventing you from any possibility of success.

12.01.2022 In all the upheaval that 2020 has brought, I haven't celebrated the fact that Body Vision is 10 years old this year Flashback to 2010 and 2011 when I organised 2 events at Westfield Styling Suite, Doncaster . We had models from Body Vision speak and model the trends of the day. ... Presentations from Masci hair and spa,Sanctum skin health beauty and myself speaking on ways people can improve their health and well-being. It's always been important to me to teach and help my clients and other women to improve their lifestyle and feel amazing in body, mind and spirit. These events were so much fun and great to get my message out to the community. A trip down memory lane, can't quite believe it's been 10 years. More to come.

09.01.2022 I used to be an 'intermittent faster'. I loved the idea of not having to think about food for the morning and believed it was helping me lose weight. Until it stopped helping me lose weight. The first 2 kilos came off easily which happens with most diets.... What I found though was nothing else shifted and I was exercising everyday- another problem but more on that another time! I read the books that supported the idea that fasting was good for me. I went to seminars where Doctors would say there is no real evidence and research that it works and I was still adamant that it worked....until it didn't. Most diets cause a 20-30% loss of LEAN mass (muscle) from the total amount of kilos lost, meaning if you lose 10 kilos, 2-3 kilos is lean body mass. One study with an intermittent fasting group showed a 65% loss of lean body mass. That's 6.5 kilos of lean stuff, NOT fat! NO THANK YOU! One of the researchers in the study stopped fasting altogether after seeing the results of the study. There was no evidence of an increase in metabolism from the research. We need to be fueling our bodies sufficiently so we can perform our every day activities and feel enough energy all day. Enough protein especially if we are strength training. Bottom line- Eat so that the body doesn't get stressed and lift weights so you can maintain and grow muscle. Since changing my eating habits, I don't crave certain foods any more, I have energy all day and no dips in the afternoon. My mood is stable and I look forward to eating the foods I enjoy. I weight train 4 times per week with the aim to get stronger and I can see the difference. I've got a way to go to reach my goal but I'm getting there slowly so I can maintain it long term, not do the lose, put back on cycle- I'm over that. Being strong is something I've always loved and have taken for granted over the 32 years I've trained with weights. It's addictive and rewarding as you see the changes- how much you can lift, how many reps you can do, how much better you get at each particular exercise and how much definition you start seeing.
