24.01.2022 1 garden edge made to fit

23.01.2022 Sometimes ramps don’t suit the needs. Like the casters falling through the gaps. So some aluminium checker plate and nut serts. This way if it ever gets damaged it’s easy to replace.

23.01.2022 A large triangular jewlers mandrel. Very pretty if I do say so myself

21.01.2022 Couple of bits made. I can put them up can't say what they are for. Interesting thread one has a m22 x 1 thread on the outside and one on the inside. Aluminium can be fun to work with and looks good. Now to post then.

21.01.2022 Hi everyone. Bolin Industries is closed till further notice. I am getting some scans on my back done tomorrow and hopefully that will sort out what is going on. Thank you. Hopefully I will be running again soon.

20.01.2022 So for those who have wondered why i tell you to stand at the door and not come in. This is the reason. When im machining it can be so beautiful the shiny new surface the colour of the metal swarf and its paterns. But coming off this machine ever 25m squared of that side of the workshop had pieces of swarf hitting it. The colour is due to the heat the swarf experiances when being hot. It melts into my jackets and jumpers even my hair and skin. It is also sharp so it can cut or even poke. My hands today were bleeding from being hit while using the controls. But i still love my job and machining things. Just if you come in be cauefull. My hands are tough from doing it for almost 20 years

19.01.2022 Making a guitar finger slide

15.01.2022 Some spacer rings for a quad bike suspension To stop the sag of a short shock.

14.01.2022 This slasher has had a hard time. The a frame had broken off and the chain plate at the front had hit a rock and bent all over the place. We also welded the frame onto the top to help with it twisting and cracking. Plus a couple re welds. The main part was the a frame. The square tube had taken enough and the bolts had pulled through. So I made some threaded crush tubes. These are designed to go into the tube and get welded in. It makes the tube a lot stronger and it won't pull through like a bolt.

13.01.2022 Slowly getting work done. Doing what I can around my back and having the kids for the holidays. I would like to thank everyone for their kindness and pacience. It is why I have stayed in this town as well as my kids. Thank you

12.01.2022 The first real job. I can only do 1.5 hours maybe 2 at the moment but I will be getting there. So this is 130mm dia and 140mm long 4140 chromoly and bored an 80mm hole through it. Was a bit slow due to the size of it but lovely job.

09.01.2022 I would like to apologise. On Wednesday I went to hospital and on Thursday I ended up in hospital. Your jobs are important to me and I will be back as soon as I can work on them. 08.01.2022 Sometimes things don’t work out as good as we planned or hoped. But things can be fixed. The bolt got broken out of this grader. All good now. Fortunately this one just needed to be welded in but if not I can turn a new thread and make a new bolt.

07.01.2022 Ok it's all go yeah. So I went to the dr today to find out about my scans. Yes I do have a problem with my back. Yes I need to see a chiropractor. And do physio.... It will be with me for the rest of my life. But apparently it has always been there. The motor biking probably didn't help. But the fact that for a while now I have let my strength and fexability go is probably my biggest problem. So I need to watch how much I'm working and I need to get back into strengthening my body up and keeping flexible. Sweet I can do that right. See more

07.01.2022 Couple of bends. Now the canvas sits well again. Plus a new jokey wheel.

07.01.2022 Well the new machine has arrived. This one is a cnc milling machine. 2.5t in weight and takes up about the same space as a car. Now to get it into position and running. Thank you Daniel backhouse for the use of you and your forklift. Had to take the top off to get it into the workshop.

07.01.2022 So this is what i was making. A shaft and bushes for a job. 40mm shaft with m12 thresds for bolts 4 small bushes od 65 id 40 and 35mm length 2 large bushes 98mm length eith grease nipple

05.01.2022 This tractor steering component had been welded before. But it broke. Bit of a grind and a tig to both sides hopefully it will hold up this time. Bit of paint and it's back on and the tractor is steering good again

04.01.2022 A couple of frames made up. One on the bench and one over near the door. These are the first things to be made at Wilson St. Tig welded together. They will be getting hung on some walls.

04.01.2022 This slasher was fixed at one point and it worked but was a bit weak. So we tripled the thickness of the plate.

02.01.2022 Bolin Industries is an engineering workshop based in Braidwood. We can machine and repair for your needs. With 20 years of machining and fabrication experience.
