Michelle completed the run. The Dalby State High School had won the event over the last few years, but did not compete this year.... The firm has donated the $100.00 prize money to the Dalby State High School special education unit. The disabled children will put the money to good use on the visual arts precinct where it will go towards paint, canvas, clay etc. The firm was also a silver sponsor for the triathlon. Michelle also competed in the womens triathlon where she placed fourth (with the fastest bike leg). Michael did not compete in the mens event this year, but instead volunteered his time to complete various roles as directed by the committee. We are looking forward to next year.

The below picture shows Richard (on the right) and Michael Bond, the firms Legal Practitioner Director (on the left) at the Harry Gibbs Commonwealth Law Courts Courts Building, in Brisbane earlier this week. 12.01.2022 **Collaborative practice qualification** Well done to Michael Bond who is now also a collaboratively trained family lawyer, after recently completing the course in Brisbane. The firm was keen to be able to offer collaborative family law processes to interested parties to assist them to resolve their issues by working together, without the litigation process being involved. ... What is collaborative practice? It is a form of dispute resolution used by married, de facto or same sex couples when separating. Each partner works with a collaboratively-trained lawyer to co-operatively resolve their legal, financial and emotional issues after separating without going to court. Agreements are entered into stating that if the matter cannot be resolved/ settled the involved lawyers must not represent the client in litigation. The partners would need to instruct new solicitors if litigation was required. Unlike other forms of dispute resolution like litigation in court, collaborative practice focuses on resolving any disputes with minimal conflict. Problem solving is concentrated upon by all of the parties to reach a mutually acceptable settlement without court proceedings or the threat of instituting court proceedings. Other professionals such as financial advisers, accountants and psychologists are also used in the collaborative process. The collaborative process is not for all matters. However, the firm encourages the process in family law matters to ensure that all parties are on a constructive/ resolution based mind set from the beginning. The firm is only too willing to answer any queries that you may have with respect to the process.
