25.01.2022 What a huge week we just had. Firstly we received the Junior Club Champions award for 2019 Then we had three out of 4 age groups make the semi-finals which is an outstanding result something that those teams and the club as a whole can be very proud of. Under 16/17s Bond Pirates 11 Vs Colleges 22 Under 15s Bond Pirates 21 Vs Yatala 19 Under 14s Bond Pirates 12 Vs Nerang 21 Congratulations to Our U'15s team for making it through to the finals. GRAND FINAL THIS SATURDAY Under 15s Joey's Cup 12.30pm Hogs v BOND PIRATES More information on how to be apart of the U'15s finals Club spirit campaign to come. We also hosted a very successful Trivia Pirates Style Fundraiser. A huge Thank You to all of you for making this night so much fun while raising money to help the club. 15.01.2022 FairPlay (formerly known as GetStarted) Round 2 opens Wednesday 22 January 2020! What's the program about? Parents, carers or guardians can apply for a voucher valued up to $150 for their child or young person, which can be used towards membership, registration or participation fees with registered activity providers.... Who's eligible? Eligible applicants are Queensland children and young people aged 5 to 17 (inclusive) who either: hold or whose parent/carer/guardian holds a valid Department of Human Services Health Care Card or Pensioner Concession Card with the child’s name on it; or are identified by a registered referral agent. Please note that there is a limit of one voucher per child/young person per calendar year, applications are open twice a year. If a child receives a voucher in the summer (January-April) round of the program, they will not be eligible to apply for the winter (July-September) round of the same year. 14.01.2022 Good Morning/Afternoon Pirate Family and Friends, Welcome to the new Bond Pirates Rugby Union Season 2020. Yes, 2020 already there is much planning being done and will continue to be done moving into the season proper next year. The club held its AGM on Sunday at the Pirate Ship, Pizzey park and was well attended. The 2019 reports were presented and accepted by the attendees. To note, from these reports the Pirates had a great 2019 in all areas thanks to the volunteers who as...sisted in every way, from committee, coaches, managers and many more areas. As with an AGM, the formal positions of the committee were vacated and the positions were opened for nomination for season 2020. I am excited to announce the member of the 2020 Bond Pirates Rugby Union Committee. A huge thank you to these members who have volunteered their time to see the Bond Pirates continue to excel in 2020. I would also like to offer our sincere thanks and appreciation to those members of the 2019 Committee who have worked tirelessly for a number of years to help get the Bond Pirates to where we are. These departing members are President Noel Grealish and Treasurer Will Jones. They will remain an important part of the club as they continue to support the bar takings in the years to come. Please thank them for their efforts if you need to push them aside to order your drinks at the pirate ship. With the Treasurer position still vacant, I would ask that if you have some financial skills and some time to fill this role, please contact me or any of the committee members to have a discussion as to what the role would entail. As the President, a parent, a coach, a supporter and a player, I am immensely proud of this club and have a determined interest to see it as the flagship of clubs on the Gold Coast. I would encourage all new ideas for the club to be presented and a whole new wave of parents and players raising their hand to assist seeing the Senior and Junior components of the club succeed this year. 09.01.2022 Our family would like to thank the Bond Pirates family for their kind wishes during our time of sadness. Bob would not want anyone to go around moaning but would rather everyone get on with their job. We greatly appreciate the thoughts that have been expressed to us, and the beautiful flowers that we received. At the age of 87, he was fortunate to have experienced a long life full of adventure. At this stage we have Dad's funeral set down for Friday 17 January at Robina Anglican Church (behind the Town Centre) for 11am, with some refreshments to follow at the Burleigh Town Village Community Centre.
