24.01.2022 There’s no doubt that conditions are tough for our farmers at the moment. While nowhere near enough, the Government have recently announced changes to the Farm Household Allowance (FHA) to improve eligibility so more farmers can access this benefit. If you are a farmer and have any questions regarding your eligibility for the FHA or need help to make a claim then please contact Neill on 0427 178 323 and I am more than happy to assist at no cost to you.

08.01.2022 I'm sure everyone has seen the Government's stimulus package all over the news. Below are a few points to help clarify some of the information out there. Some of it is quite complicated and there are details that didn't make the news. If you have any questions then please seek professional advice. Times are tough enough as is you wouldn't want to miss out on anything you're entitled to through misinformation. If you are already receiving Centrelink benefits you shouldn't hav...e to do anything extra to receive any additional payments you are entitled to under the package. So save yourself the hassle of trying to get in touch with Centrelink at the moment unless necessary. If you have unfortunately lost your job then they have relaxed some of the requirements and waiting periods to receive Centrelink benefits and you should apply ASAP. This also includes casual workers who have had their hours cut and self-employed people who have had their income significantly reduced (doesn't have to necessarily be zero to apply). If you are unsure if this applies to you then either contact Centrelink or give me a call to discuss. There are several scams going around so please be careful. Do not give your bank details out over the phone to anyone claiming to be from Centrelink or the ATO under any circumstances. They don't request this information over the phone. There are incentives for small businesses who employ people. These will be paid as credits through the BAS system. If your business is eligible you don't have to do anything except make sure your BAS's are lodged on time. While it may become necessary for some, withdrawing money from your super should only be used as absolute last resort. There are long-term consequences to withdrawing your super early. Please speak with your accountant or financial planner before doing this. Don't hesitate to give me a call on 0427 178 323 should you have any questions. These are uncertain times so I'm only too happy to help and point you in the right direction when needed.

07.01.2022 Lodging your own tax return may seem like a great way to save money. However, the ATO have already detected $53 million in tax return errors this year through data matching. Using a registered tax agent can help provide you with peace of mind by assisting you to complete your tax return accurately, as well as maximising your refund by advising you of any legitimate tax deductions you may not be aware of. As a bonus any fees paid to a registered tax agent are also tax deductible. So if you need help from a professional and competent registered tax agent then please contact Neill on 0427 178 323.
